CFREEMA3's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1042Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Mon, 17 Aug 2009 12:59:41https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3812For my last game log I played exclusively in hell. To me this felt more like a video game. We entered into a fantasy world and left the reality of the columbine massacre behind us. It was more acceptable in my view to kill demons and possessed souls in comparison to highschoolers. In this game session I wondered into the Island of lost souls? I think that is what it was called. Anyway on the Island their was Mario, Mega Man, Darth Vader and many other fantasy characters. I felt like this was a very odd place considering all of the other stuff in the game I guess I shouldn't be surprised with anything anymore. I didn't finish the entire game and am not really sure if I will. If the rest of the game was like the first part in the school I would defiantly not finish. But The hell portion of the game was less repulsing and more challenging. To sum up my feelings about the game I believe that whoever created this game has something seriously wrong with them. I found the game however to not be as unacceptable as I expected. I was able to play the game without being offended in any way and somewhat enjoyed the time playing. In saying this I will probably never play this game ever again. There are too many other better games to be played and better uses of my time.Mon, 17 Aug 2009 12:59:41 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3812&iddiary=7176Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Mon, 17 Aug 2009 00:22:38https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3812This is the first time that I have played a video game where the main characters have committed suicide during the game. I was a little surprised that the game did not end there but this is no ordinary game. While I was playing I felt like I needed to kill as many people in order to level my characters up. I got caught up in the game and forgot that this tragedy actually happened. I still can't get over how this game ended up getting made. The only reason that I can come up with is to start controversy. It has obviously worked because we are talking about it in a college ethics class. In all honestly I would have been happy to never have heard of this game. I can't wait until tomorrow when I will never have to think about or play this game ever again.Mon, 17 Aug 2009 00:22:38 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3812&iddiary=7163Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Sun, 16 Aug 2009 00:46:15https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3812My first impression of Super Columbine Massacre RPG is how much the plot related to what actually happened. In the game the one kid mentions how he reformatted the drive on his computer so that no one would be able to find what was on it. You could leave a tape with an explanation of why you were going to shoot up the school. It mentions where the kids used to work and showed a flashback of them testing their explosives. All of this stayed true with what actually happened.(As far as I remember) I was really impressed with how historically accurate the plot of the game was. I guess what struck me the most about this game is what was the motivation behind making this game? Obviously the creator was not interested in making a profit because people are able to download and play this game for free. Is telling the real story behind the massacre the point of the game? I don't think so. Most of this information is widely available and has been covered in the news. The only reason I can think of is the creator is showing off. He seemed to want attention or recognition. He made a game that people would think is inappropriate and many people would talk about his game. We're even required to play and discuss this game for a college class. This is kind of a sick and twisted reason to create a game. As for playing it I tried to limit the amount of time that I played it the first time because I have heard that it takes a short time to finish the game. I wanted it to last through all three game sessions. I started the massacre and reached the cafeteria and then saved to continue the game later. Even though that I found the overall idea of the game to be appalling I felt that I had to kill every one in every class room before moving on. In other words the game turned out to be fun to play for the most part.Sun, 16 Aug 2009 00:46:15 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3812&iddiary=7139Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Mon, 27 Jul 2009 13:26:44https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3776This morning I completed my third gaming session on San Andreas. I found that the missions' difficulty seems to increase as you get further along in the game. I found myself having to replay the drive-by mission and Sweet's girl numerous times. (or I just suck at the game) The first mission was the drive-by mission where I had to drive a car by rival gang members while the rest of the people in my car shoot them. After completing this the cops chase you until you enter a spray shop to change the color of your car. I found the drive by to be pretty realistic. What I didn't like was how the cops stopped chasing you after the color of your car changed. This happened even though they witnessed me enter the spray shop. In my opinion, it should be a little more difficult to evade the police. The second mission that I went on I needed to rescue Sweet and his girlfriend. I had to kill a bunch of gang members then steal a car and drive Sweet to safety. This was one of the tougher missions that I played yet. The last mission I completed was a burglary. I broke into someone's house at night and stole weapons while he was sleeping. My overall feelings toward San Andreas is that it is a pretty fun game to play but it is probably the worst ethical and moral game that I have played. There are so many ethical problems within this one game they all cannot be listed here. I think the problem is that even though I know that the actions in the game are "wrong" I still found it fun to play it. I would not recommend this game to children.Mon, 27 Jul 2009 13:26:44 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3776&iddiary=7114Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Thu, 23 Jul 2009 20:40:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3776I played San Andreas for the second time today. Today I accomplished a bunch of non-violent tasks. I went to a store and bought clothes for my wardrobe. I got a haircut and I went to the gym and lifted some weights. I did not intentionally try to act morally in the game. It just so happens that I reached the point in the game where these things needed to be accomplished. I found that these tasks were a little boring in comparison to wrecking havoc around the city. I think that violence is popular and fun in video games because it is something that can not be done in real life without consequences. I did not entirely follow a straight and narrow path today during gameplay. The one "wrong" thing that I did today was buy a gun from a guy in a back alley. Now in real life this is illegal and a very dangerous thing to do. This is also a pretty realistic activity. I would assume that there are a couple places where this can actually be done in Chicago. Overall this was a pretty boring game session. I just accomplished a bunch of minor tasks that were not that interesting.Thu, 23 Jul 2009 20:40:39 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3776&iddiary=7076Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Thu, 23 Jul 2009 00:51:15https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3776So I played San Andreas for a little over an hour today. I have never played this game before but have played Grand Theft auto 4. The game play is relatively the same as GTA4 so I knew the general concept of the game. I would have to say the most surprising thing about this game to me is how over the top the game is in relation to the black gang culture. The amount that the "N" word was used was a little unnecessary. The characters also talked in slang and talked about drug use repeatedly. Overall the game glamorizes the gang culture. This is unfortunate because this is not a life that should be envied. While playing the game some of the missions were to accomplish rather unethical tasks. The first of which was to spray your gang-sign over rival gang-signs. Next you are tasked with the objective to beat up some random crack dealers. The final mission I got to was a drive by shooting of another gang. All of these missions needed to be accomplished while avoiding police detection because obvious these acts are all illegal. I have to say that I enjoyed playing this game even though my character was acting unethical. It seems to me that the game is enjoyable because of how the gang culture is being portrayed. It seems like they crammed as many stereotypes into one game that they possibly could. It is so over the top that it does not seem like it is real. I am not sure how accurate this portrayal is but I hope that it is very fictitious.Thu, 23 Jul 2009 00:51:15 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3776&iddiary=7072
