After walking through the school and murdering more innocents the game became boring. The game was not fun in the least and as I reached hell and fought DOOM enemies I stopped playing. The game is terrible as a game; it is terrible because of its theme and total story. The way it goes about the shootings is gross but if it was a high quality next gen-game it would have been a lot worse. The media would e all over it and portal and Manhunt would be stuffed animals for kids compared to this gruesome game. Why was the hell level based off of DOOM? Just because they played it does not justify the use of the game as a gateway to hell. Also all of the musicians used in the game can not be blamed for this shooting Manson, Rammstein, Nirvana, and others. Just because most of those bands have a kind of dark theme to them does not mean their hidden messege was to kill people. I like Rammstein and Nirvana but Im not killing people. . . All in all it was terrible and was morbid to say the least. In some cut scenes the developers wanted to make you understand the characters but that would be impossible. I don’t care how depressed or humiliated you are to murder hundreds of innocents in cold blood? There is something wrong with you and no psychiatric help could ever aid you. Creepy game. Bad Game. My first attempt was an utter failure, I walked right into a girl and I failed somehow. After a good thirty more attempts I realized I wasn’t supposed to be seen by the people OR the cameras. The cameras did not even look remotely like one and I was surprised to find out they in fact were cameras. When I finally got into the cafeteria I was told to plant bombs under tables by the vending machines. Then in five steps a camera saw me. Then where do I end up? Outside again. I tried once more and realized I got the hallway down pat but I entered the cafeteria and get seen by some guy walking around. I had enough with the game and decided it was for another day. The major problem I found in this play through was the complete lack of instructions from the game. Again it looks like Pokémon red edition or some equivalent version. Bombs in a cafeteria? I thought this is going to be disturbing, gruesome, and possibly horrific. Sadly I find it to resemble Pokémon or an 8 bit equivalent game. The text is terrible, I barely can read the words and often sit there trying to decipher it. As I started playing I saw the banner on the wall in the bedroom and did not know what KMFDM. So I looked it up and found out it was a German metal band that was blamed for the massacre that was committed by the two kids. Also I played the stereo and heard an 8 bit version of a nirvana song which led me to believe they were also holding some blame. I walked around for awhile and found a prescription of an anti-depressant drug on his table called luvox. After that I find that the calendar has a picture of Sascha Konietzko which I find out is the lead singer of KMFDM. Then I read the computer has done something relating to DOOM which I find disgusting to blame a game or have it relate in any way to real violence in the world. When I reached the basement I did everything possible and continued outside, where I found that I had to plant bombs in the cafeteria without the cameras seeing me. After multiple times I gave up and decided to try again tomorrow. In my first play through I found the game to be very disturbing and I felt uncomfortable playing the game. I did not want to take control of Dylan and Eric as they were murderers and had something wrong with them as indicated by the luvox in the bedroom. The recording that the two guys made was disturbing because it felt very real even though it was through an 8 bit style. We will see if my opinion changes with play throughs but I doubt it. I find the game to be creepy and I am not looking forward to advancing in the game. (This entry has been edited1 time. Basically it has to do with GTA’s controversial content, whether that is murder, stealing, or just simply driving around in a pimped out car. I was free roaming in Los Santos and driving in a Remington. I ran some people over sadly it is wrong but in a game it is oddly fun. (On a side note I have played GTA 1 and 2, both of those games gave actual points for running people over with a car.) After I received a one star warrant level I started to evade the police but in the process ran more people over, resulting in a two star warrant level. I entered the expressway and noticed two squad cars trying to perform a pit maneuver on my Remington, I pulled out a pistol and shot their front tires out and laughed as they rammed into a delivery van. Continuing on the expressway to no particular destination I needed a new car as mine was emitting black smoke from the hood of the car. I noticed a taxi and hijacked the car and sped off. This resulted in a three star warrant level. I pulled of the expressway and shortly after I realized there was a road block on the street. All my tires were blown out and I shootout ensued resulting in the policemen’s death. I grabbed a S.W.A.T. van and continued on the street to a friendly fire for some ammunition. The cashier pulled a shotgun on me and barely killed him just as a customer shot me in the back with a pistol. Now I spawned at the Hospital and hijacked an Ambulance, driving off without anyone noticing I decided to complete a few side missions. Sadly I did not reach the destination in time, and decided to try to recover some gang turf instead. After I took back what was rightfully Grove Street’s turf, I decided to treat CJ’s girlfriend to some Cluckn’ Bell. Afterwards I headed back to her place for some “Coffee” and drove back to CJ’s house completing my play through for the day. I really did not complete much except for some more mayhem but in my opinion that is what made the Grand Theft Auto series so successful. Sure there are many immoral things done in GTA, but that is what makes it so successful. Every controversial element in the game that is talked about in the media is more advertising for the game, no matter how gruesome or wrong it might be. For example, the Hot Coffee controversy was a gross MOD that was added to the game by some perverted hacker but it made people talk. Hot Coffee was not even Rockstar’s fault it did what every company does in the circumstance, it fixed it. No matter the immoral and unethical themes that are in the game it is still a cash producer and will be around until it doesn’t any more. Is it wrong that the main character is African American and is stereotyped such a great extent? Yes, and no. The stereotypes in this game are so severe and unbelievable that it shouldn’t be taken seriously. There is no way there are people who do not own a car and instead hijack one every time they see a flashy Corvette or Mercedes. GTA constantly uses themes that are wrong but in my opinion use those to show how wrong it is to do so. Drugs are shown but are done by hoodlums that won’t get an education because of those drugs, as well as murder, theft, and other illegal acts. Sure GTA has bad, immoral themes but in the end it is just a game. I loaded one of my saves that I completed the game on and just drove around the game world trying to create as much havoc as I could. First thing I did was go to a Friendly Fire and bought some tools of mass destruction to get my wanted level up to five stars. I shot any one that was in my line of fire and unloaded on them until I reached three stars. At this point I stole a SUV and drove to the airport where I hijacked a commercial airplane. I flew the plane for a few minutes and got shot down by military jets. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas does not really penalize you for doing all this but rather encourages you by supplying any destructive tool you want. You can kill, steal, hire a prostitute, go on a rampage, and even hijack planes to use as a form of entertainment. The player starts a mission and is given the task of killing someone, stealing something, and even blowing up something as well as other form of violence. The game wants the player to commit violence and rewards you for doing so. The rewards are mostly monetary and with that you buy more weapons to create more havoc. (This entry has been edited2 times. First off I have already completed GTA: SA at least two times and have witnessed, via the multiple missions in the game, many instances of African American "ghetto" stereotyping. Immediately in the first five minutes of game time three officers pull over the protagonist and accuse him of still being a gangster. CJ supposedly was indeed a hoodlum but cleaned up and came back to San Andreas to bury his mother, but the police still believe him to be a delinquent. CJ of course is an African American and throughout the game lives an over the top stereotyped thug life. All of CJ’s gang members are also African American and also live a stereotyped thug life in “the hood.” In addition all of the opposing gangs are African American, Mexican, or some kind of minority killing innocents or stealing from people. What I think is odd in the game is that it focuses on CJ killing his way to the top of the game world and in the process kills many innocent people including police officers. As the game progresses it really doesn’t show the player that these are immoral things that you as the player are doing. Choosing an African American as the main character, in my opinion, isn’t the bad thing about this game it is the extremes it takes to include as much stereotyping as they possibly can into one game’s story. Of course I suppose the developers hope you have some kind of pre-existing moral beliefs and should understand that this is in fact a game about playing as a thug killing fake people.
