soopalation's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=134Gradius (NES) - Wed, 21 Feb 2007 20:15:56https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1341After playing gradius some more I realized that gradius is the first game to use the weapon power up system. The thing is in gradius the game allows you to choose what power up system you want to use and implement. This allows the player to have more control over the game allowing the player to take their own paths when playing the game.Wed, 21 Feb 2007 20:15:56 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1341&iddiary=2856Gradius (NES) - Wed, 21 Feb 2007 20:12:54https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1341I have never really gotten into this game before. Just recently I started to play it more indept. The level design like any shmup is semless and the level moves with you in a way. What I like about the level design in this game is that it makes you feel like you are in outter space. The thing that makes the game very interesting is the level design cause in one level you can be in outter space and in the next level you can be on a lava planet. In terms of bosses the feel is very different. An example is the first boss which was a couple of volcanoes. Took me 4 times of game play to pass this level. The boss is so different than anything I have seen in most of the games I have played. Gradius is definetly one of the best shmups I have ever played.Wed, 21 Feb 2007 20:12:54 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1341&iddiary=2855WarioWare (Wii) - Mon, 12 Feb 2007 12:54:13https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1155WarioWare is a game like which I have never played before. It is so action packed and different from any game I have ever seen or played. I call this game Mario party on acid. This game is basically a trip. Cause everything in this game is about speed and perfection. Know to talk about the wii handles the game. I love how they have integrated the wii mote into this game. Before each mini game they show you exactly how he wii mote is supposed to be used by a picture representation on the screen and this tells you if you will be holding it sideways or forward. This game allows to perform all kinds of activities from stirring food to swatting flies. In a previous post I talked about how the wii mote didn’t work well with Zelda they have turned it around and it works like a charm on the Nintendo wii. I usually play this game with like 4 people and the cool thing about this game is that you can do a multiplayer and it supports up to 12 players so its always fun to play and I think Nintendo made a great game.Mon, 12 Feb 2007 12:54:13 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1155&iddiary=2808WarioWare (Wii) - Wed, 07 Feb 2007 20:54:18https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1155Before I start about what I think about the game play I would like to explaing what I think this game is trying to get at what its purpose is. WarioWare is a game that is a collection of short mini games. Each mini game takes about 5 seconds to complete each mini game and if you cant complete it you loose one life each time and there are four lives a round. In this game you must complete the serires of mini games to move onto the next series of minigames. The game is structured like a city and when u complete one task more minigames and new sections of the city open up and each section has some extra feature or more minigames which you can play. This is the first wario game that came out for the wii and I love playing it the mini games are fun and exciting.Wed, 07 Feb 2007 20:54:18 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1155&iddiary=2480Kirby's Adventure (NES) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 15:08:25https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=936Now that I have talked about the game play I saw something interesting in Kirby’s Adventure and that was the minigames. In Kirby’s adventure there are four different mini games quick-draw, crane, egg catcher and arena. Each mini game is different from the other and I saw no overlaps in them. The mini games are very simple to play but are hard to master. The biggest difference when I was playing Kirby compared to a NES Maio game was that it has consistent strategy and puzzle throughout the game play.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 15:08:25 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=936&iddiary=2270Kirby's Adventure (NES) - Mon, 29 Jan 2007 18:49:44https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=936I am not going to lie to you this was my first time actually seriously playing any game in the kirby series. This is why I choose to write my gamelog on this game. Why was this game so good compared to Mario and Zelda which were some of my favorite titles. Starting up the game the story was pretty simple Kirby has to travel around in search of 7 pieces to the star rod which allows people of dream land to have there dreams. Playing the game you could tell this was a straight up 2D sidescroller. In the game kirby has six hit points before he looses a life. In this game you can assimulate your ennemies attacks by swallowing them up. This is truely a family game and by that I mean anyone can join in and love this game. It is so simple to understand and play its almost genious. Kirby has alot of the features a good game should have. It has both simple game play and a indept story that keeps the game running. In some ways I feel as though this game has been kinda a bite off of mario wit a twist.Mon, 29 Jan 2007 18:49:44 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=936&iddiary=2061mario 64 (N64) - Thu, 18 Jan 2007 21:57:10https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=684Now that I talked about what i thought about the game I want to talk more about the design of the game and how I thought Shigeru Miyamoto approached in making this game. What i found interesting about this game was the fact that Miyamoto had being planning this game for 5 years a genious way before its time. He wanted to use the super fx chip in super nintendo to render 3d polygons ultimately creating a 3d mario game this all happened while he was workin on the snes star fox. Finally he decided to release it onto the N64 due to the limitation on the SNES. Everything in this game from the camera angles to the detail in graphics. This mario game brought both gameplay and ingenuity into one playing field.Thu, 18 Jan 2007 21:57:10 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=684&iddiary=1647mario 64 (N64) - Wed, 17 Jan 2007 18:34:17https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=684This game basically made me want to buy the N64. This was the first 3d game in the mario series and it was awesome. Today I playing it on my nintendo wii made me realize just how good of a mario game this actually was. The first thing that caught my eye was how well nintendo made the transition from the 2d to 3d space. Instead of making mario 64 a side scroll 3d game they took an interesting approach by making it more of an exploration game with different missions in every level you jump into. The game still had the same simple mario story too it, which was save princess peach from bowser. In order to do that in this game mario has to go around collecting stars from various pictures in the castle. The game was designed exactly how most of Shigeru Miyamoto games have been designed in the past. Very well designed with no detail left out. In the game there are a couple of glitches that allow someone to beat the game in under 30 minutes around. Right now thats what I'm tryin to get at. Overall the plot and gameplay are very well designed and what i think as one of the best mario games of all times if not the best mario game I have ever played and I have played and beaten every mario game.Wed, 17 Jan 2007 18:34:17 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=684&iddiary=1565The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii) - Wed, 10 Jan 2007 19:35:47https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=400Now I am around the village in the sky. I am extremely happy with the game play in zelda. For the most part, the puzzles are great and rooted in logic. I feel like one of the most important things is the creativity of the puzzles in Zelda and that is what makes each Zelda game great. This is were it stops and I feel like this particular Zelda game is bases more on puzzles rather than epic boss fights. At times in the game you feel as though the wii-mote is more of a hindrance than useful. Cause I at times in the game play I just wanted to push the button A rather than swinging the wii-mote around. The wii-mote at times was very frustrating to use when I played Zelda. There's no finesse to the way the Wii Remote is used. All in all I felt that the temples in twilight princess were very well designed that despite the downfall of the wii-mote it is an awesome game. This game will probably take around 35-40 hours of game play to complete.Wed, 10 Jan 2007 19:35:47 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=400&iddiary=1137The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii) - Tue, 09 Jan 2007 17:20:59https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=400The legend of zelda twilight princess doesn't stray to far away from previous zelda games such as orcarina of time which was my favorite zelda game of all time. Like most other zelda games I sensed that twilight princess was retelling the same basic tale. You start off as Link in his home town village. Here the game primes you by showing you how to use the wii-mote to do different things like herding in cattle or shooting your slingshot. In this game you have something similiar to the dark world but instead its called the twilight. Uou become friends with an imp looking like creature called mina who basically guides you through the game. Using mina you are able to transform into a wolf and teleport around the map. I saw in the beginning of the game the structure of the game was kept simlilar almost kinda identical to orcarina of time in the sense that there are the 3 temples forst, fire and water and then after those you tackle even bigger badder dungeons. Though what I realized about twilight princess right off the bat was that i feel like the conrols were rushed and that the wii-mote doesn't work as well as it could with the nintendo wii and that if you are looking for a game that shows off the nintendo wii's graphics you are barking up the wrong tree. In fact the twlight princess has gamecube graphics with the idea of the wii-mote behind it.Tue, 09 Jan 2007 17:20:59 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=400&iddiary=1083
