gamekid86's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1383Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Wed, 03 Nov 2010 21:09:10https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4523As the story progressed, we did a lot of killing other gang members; during drive-bys, rescues and just plain cold blood killing. The story reveals that it wasn't always so bad, that many of the gangs used to be friendly. But something has changed all of that. How convenient for the storyline. One thing that I thought was cool was the mission where you go to recruit help from two guys. Big Dog, i believe his name was, was completely changed by cocaine. The designers seem to be making a statement there. Also, at one point the crazy pot-head guy offers CJ some drugs but he turns them down. I was so proud of him at that moment. Then he went and blew some guys' heads off. Jerk. Playing more modern games, such as Fallout 3, makes me wish that you could make decisions about whether or not you would do certain things and that those decisions would shape the way the game tells the story. But, it's an old game.Wed, 03 Nov 2010 21:09:10 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4523&iddiary=8465Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Wed, 03 Nov 2010 21:08:33https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4523One of the first things my group and I went out and did was started tagging over other people's gang signs. As a gamer and potential game designer I like this concept, because it gives the player another reason to go out and explore the world, which is what the creators want them to do. After the first few missions, the rest of the storyline gets split to a different story at each of your friends' houses. But of course, I wanted to spend some time exploring the city. Stealing cars, running people over and tagging walls. This part of the game is definitely just as entertaining as following the story. When I was younger and I used to play the Grand Theft Auto games, I would hardly ever follow the story. It was way too cool to play around with the rules of the world, fight cops, etc.Wed, 03 Nov 2010 21:08:33 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4523&iddiary=8464Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Wed, 03 Nov 2010 21:08:14https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4523The story of the game opens up to Carl Johnson arriving in San Andreas for the first time in a long time from Liberty City. His mother has been killed and he wants to pay his respects. While there he decides that he is going to stay, perhaps he realizes that he's been missing out on all of this fun. Or maybe he wants vengence. It is not until after he decides to stay that the police call him and tell him that leaving would be a bad idea. Honestly, I think that that could have been a better reason to stay than... no reason at all. The first thing that sets this game in another reality for me is that the cops were being crooked and dishonest. I know that they are jerks, but come on!Wed, 03 Nov 2010 21:08:14 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4523&iddiary=8463
