I definitely was not expecting what I saw today while playing the game. The police start shooting at my character and eventually both of the characters are dead. It was very shocking to see the actual pictures of the murderers dead on the ground. I found it, once again, disturbing. Next, pictures started coming across the screen of both of the killers while they were alive from when they were kids until their last day on earth. Real pictures of students and family members crying and surrounding the school. Next, Dylan is the only killer sent to hell. I found this interesting that only one of them were sent to Hell. I died shortly after being killed by one of the demons attacked me. This is obviously a very controversial game. I think that it was very insensitive to create a game like this based off a tragedy. I don't think the creator did something unethical since he has the right to create what he wants to create as freedom of expression.Mon, 10 Oct 2011 20:15:44 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4793&iddiary=8878Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Sun, 09 Oct 2011 23:15:15https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4793Columbine Massacre RPG - Day 2 WOW. Playing this game today was very different from yesterday. First thing I did was load up weapons and set the bomb in the cafeteria. After meeting back with Dylan, the bombs never went off. This was accurate to how events actually went down that day. It was really weird having to do this since we are experiencing the game through the viewpoints of the murderers. Anyways, after this I started going around killing some students. I actually felt horrible having to murder "pretty girl" "preppy boy" "science teacher" "janitor" and other types of students within the game. I wasn't sure if there was any way to get through the game without murdering people so I decided to go for it. It got pretty repetitive and boring after a while. It was very disturbing knowing that this event has actually happened and we're mocking a tragedy in a way. Next, a picture of the president at the time appeared on a television screen. This is exactly what the boys wanted - fame for their horrendous act. They said this during their video recording I did the yesterday. Anyways, I went around killing more and more students in the bathrooms and eventually got to the library.Sun, 09 Oct 2011 23:15:15 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4793&iddiary=8868Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Sat, 08 Oct 2011 23:14:10https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4793Columbine Massacre RPG - Day 1 I have never heard of a game like this so when we had to do this for an assignment, I was initially freaked out. I was trying to figure out how I was going to make myself play this game because I find having a video game based off the most tragic high school killing spree in the america, highly disturbing. Regardless I did play it once and although it had some very disturbing moments, it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. For this first entry, I want to focus on just the characters in the beginning part of the game. Although I could have played and finished this game in one sitting, I wanted to split it up so it could last me three days. It surprised me how authentic it actually seemed to be despite the fact it was pixelated. You start off as Eric and the first thing I did was call the other killer. I loaded up some weapons and was started exploring the basement before heading off. Here I was able to record a video saying why they were doing what they were doing. It surprised me that they actually had remorse. They talked about how they have the best parents in the world and how this will surprise them greatly, then they talked about how they hate everyone at the school and how they set up a few people. They talked about how they are going to die today and how nobody at the school should be arrested, only them. After turning on a video for inspiration and hitting a flashback to how they were playing with the explosives and started planning their attack..the language was always very dirty and yet probably very accurate to how it was in reality. While reflecting on their decision to do this, they said things such as "This is the end, my only friend, the end." "Kill as many shit heads as we can today" and "I say, fuck you, shut up, and die." Off they were to go on their killing spree.Sat, 08 Oct 2011 23:14:10 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4793&iddiary=8857Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2) - Tue, 27 Sep 2011 20:47:58https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4756Day 3: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Third time playing this game and I still have a lot of difficulty controlling my character. I’m still uncomfortable with the vulgar language used that I find very unnecessary. I got frustrated with the missions and for the most part ended up just exploring the ‘hoods’ and areas within the game while trying to get better at using the controls. I found even this difficult as when I would get stuck or fall off the bike - another gang continued to shoot at me. I think this game could improve in several ways. I think it’s wrong that they portray african americans in such a poor way, they use horrible language that doesn’t add to the game, and the graphics are pretty crappy. Overall I do like the story part of the game. I think that makes the game a little interesting - having a back story of your character. I find that they put a strong emphasis of loyalty towards friends and gang members but the things they are loyal about are not always morally good. Now that this assignment is over, there is a very likely chance I will probably never play this game again as I did not find it very enjoyable. (This entry has been edited1 time. There are many things that could be seen as morally wrong. Between stealing cars and hurting innocent people, it seems like the only way you can possibly complete missions is by committing crimes. They are rewarding you for beating up innocent people by letting you keep their money. I find it hard to go about the missions in general. You are constantly trying to keep up with the others on the bike so you don’t get too far behind while another gang is consistently trying to kill you. Oh and you have to not get arrested for the crimes you’re FORCED to commit, or else you lose.Sun, 25 Sep 2011 16:02:57 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4756&iddiary=8767Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2) - Sat, 24 Sep 2011 18:26:18https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4756Day 1: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas I’ve never played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas before so I had no idea what to expect. I was honestly surprised about the almost racist like take the creators of the game have. The characters in the game are all african americans being portrayed in an ugly way. The male characters are wearing clothes that are way too big for them while the female characters wear clothes that are very revealing and way too small. The few white characters are racist in the game saying things such as “stupid mexican” and something negative about the main character regarding his race (although I forget the exact quote.) The other gang that was shooting at my character were all black as well. It gives the illusion that only african american people are dangerous and are in gangs when this isn’t always true in reality. It also shows that it is okay to be dangerous as long as you don’t get caught. In contrast, the cops in the beginning of the game, took money from the main character accusing him of using it for drug money without any evidence of anything. Heavy violence, offensive/dirty language, and gangs are definitely what this game seems to be about. Hopefully for day 2, I will get something else out of this game.Sat, 24 Sep 2011 18:26:18 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4756&iddiary=8760
