Rockstar games does a great job in creating games that give the player so much realness and freedom. The core gameplay of GTA IV consists of giving the player a large, open world environment in which to move around freely. On foot, the player character can walk, run, jump, climb over obstacles and swim, as well as use weapons and perform basic hand-to-hand combat. Players can steal and drive a variety of vehicles, including automobiles, boats, helicopters, and motorcycles. A lot of physics are incorporated. When not attempting a storyline mission, players can free-roam, giving them the ability to do activities. Side missions such as locating and destroying criminals in the police car database or participating in street races can keep the player occupied for hours. It is possible to have many active missions running at one time, as some missions run over the course of several days and require the player to wait for further instructions or events. The player can also attempt a variety of optional side missions. Grand Theft Auto IV also contains morality choices at many points throughout the game, which alter the storyline appropriately depending on the player's choice. Which of the game's two different endings occurs is determined by one of these choices. The main character is Niko. Gunfights in GTA IV are conducted using a third-person system. The game's cover system allows the player to deftly move between cover, to fire blindly, aim freely, and target a specific enemy. Individual body parts can also be targeted. Additionally, Niko can perform cinematic executions at certain points in the story. Niko's health is shown by a green semicircle on the left side of the mini-map, while a blue semicircle on the right represents armour. When locked on a target, their health and armour level appears in the target circle. There are more hand-to-hand combat moves than in past games in the series, namely punching, kicking, alternative punching, dodging and blocking, disarming an opponent, and counter-attacking.Mon, 10 Dec 2012 22:32:11 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5470&iddiary=9767Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3) - Mon, 10 Dec 2012 22:31:55https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5470 (This entry has been edited1 time. It was one of the first action shooting games I have ever played. GoldenEye 007 is a first-person shooter that features both single and a multiplayer modes. In the single player mode, the player takes the role of James Bond through a series of free-roaming 3D levels. Each level requires the player to complete a certain set of objectives. Stealth is a significant element of the gameplay. Frequent gunfire can alert distant guards, and activated alarms can trigger infinitely-respawning enemies. In order to avoid gunfights with numerous opponents, it is advantageous to eliminate soldiers and security cameras before they spot or hear the player. Certain weapons incorporate suppressor or telescopic sight attachments to aid the player in killing enemies discreetly. There are no health-recovery items in the game, although armour vests can be acquired to provide a secondary health bar. The setting of the game is very realistic. It is based off off the movie and does an excellent job in portraying the actual places.Mon, 10 Dec 2012 22:07:06 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5468&iddiary=9765Burnout Revenge (PS2) - Sun, 09 Dec 2012 19:24:58https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5446I have grown up loving racing and car games. The Burnout series of games were among my favorite. Burnout Revenge is the fourth video game in the Burnout series of racing games. In Burnout Revenge, players compete in a range of racing game types with different aims. These take place within rush-hour traffic, and include circuit racing, Road Rage, Burning Lap, Eliminator, and Crash. A new gameplay feature in Burnout Revenge is the ability to ram same-way small to medium traffic, known as traffic checking, propelling the rammed car forward; the event in which a checked car hits a rival is considered as a Traffic Takedown. Traffic checking is the focus of a new race type, Traffic Attack, which can be used later on. During these events, players have access to a limited amount of boost which is acquired through various dangerous driving techniques, including but not limited to driving on the wrong side of the road, tailgating opponents and drifting. Unlike other video games in the racing genre, players are encouraged, and sometimes even required, to ram rival cars and cause traffic to crash. Causing a rival to crash is referred to as a Takedown. This rewards the player by extending the length of their boost gauge and completely refilling it. In designated events, boost can also be used to activate a "Crashbreaker" during a crash, detonating the car and causing other nearby cars to crash. When the rival car takes the player down, the player will have to take the ultimate REVENGE by taking down the revenge rivals is referred to as "Revenge Takedown". (This entry has been edited1 time. FIFA 13 captures all the drama and unpredictability of real-world soccer, and is driven by five game-changing innovations which revolutionize artificial intelligence, dribbling, ball control and physical play. It is the largest and deepest feature set in the history of the franchise. These innovations create a true battle for possession across the entire pitch, deliver freedom and creativity in attack, and capture all the drama and unpredictability of the real-world game. This game comes with array of new features. Attacking Intelligence- Players have the ability to analyse space, work harder and smarter to break down the defense, and think two plays ahead. Plus, players make runs that pull defenders out of position and open passing channels for teammates. Complete Dribbling- Face your opponent and use precise dribble touches combined with true 360-degree mobility with the ball. Be more creative and dangerous in 1v1 opportunities. 1st Touch Control- A new system transforms the way players control the ball, eliminating near-perfect touch for every player, and creating more opportunities for defenders to capitalise on errant balls and poor touches to win back possession. The more I play this game, the more I learn more about soccer and become more interested in it.Sun, 09 Dec 2012 14:02:31 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5439&iddiary=9741Temple Run (iPd) - Sun, 09 Dec 2012 13:42:18https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5436One of my favorite and most addicting mobile games is Temple Run. Temple Run is an endless action video game. The player takes the role of an explorer attempting to steal an idol from a temple and being chased by demonic monkeys. This game centers around a group of wandering explorers, where one of the characters, whom the player controls, steals an item from an ancient temple. The players control the characters moments after they have stolen the item. Immediately after stealing the item, the player is chased by a group of malevolent demonic monkeys who chase the player out of the temple, which basically starts a temple run.It is very simple to play this game. The player must swipe up or down in order to avoid obstacles, and left or right in order to turn corners. Tilting the device will cause the character to move from side to side, allowing them to collect coins as they run. There is no finish line nor are there any levels. The object of the game is to run as far as possible by avoiding obstacles that require the player to either jump (slide finger forward), duck (slide finger backwards), or turn (slide finger to the right or left) on time before getting hit or running off a cliff into the water. The game is measured in meters, starting from the temple. While all of this is happening, the player will continue to be pursued by the monkeys. If you trip over something the monkeys will get closer to you which then puts more pressure on the player to not make anymore mistakes. While playing, the player can tilt their device either to the left or the right to collect coins. These coins are in the shape of yellow diamonds, but according to their point value, they can also be red or blue. In addition to the coins, you also encounter sporadic bonus items during the run.Sun, 09 Dec 2012 13:42:18 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5436&iddiary=9740Jetpack Joyride (iPd) - Sun, 09 Dec 2012 13:21:41https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5435I recently downloaded the mobile game Jetpack Joyride. It came to me one day as I remembered playing the game in class one morning. The character in this game is a young man with a 5 oclock shadow that tears through science labs with a jetpack on his back. In Jetpack Joyride you'll be riding in jetpacks, collecting coins, going for a spin in a huge variety of vehicles and even levelling up by completing in-game missions. The game comes with an array of powerups that just make the game that much more exciting. JJ is fairly simple to play. All you have to do is press your finger on the screen and that will ignite his jetpack to control him going up and down. Also as you use the jetpack, it is shooting bullets down to the floor so the scientists frantically running around get killed beneath. This adds a very fun element to the movement of the game. I have yet to unlock all of the in-game powerups but the ones I have unlocked so far are pretty awesome. For example, I unlocked this dragon power to where it changes your whole dynamic of movement. You become this flaming dragon and basically destroy anything in your path. The powerups are not permanent of course. On top of that, you can view your progress in The Stash, purchase new upgrades and items and compare scores online with your friends. This mobile game is a definite must- have.Sun, 09 Dec 2012 13:21:41 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5435&iddiary=9738NBA 2K13 (PS3) - Mon, 05 Nov 2012 13:28:55https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5320Like its predecessors, NBA 2K13 simulates NBA basketball games. One of the game's new control features allocates dribbling to the right analog stick on the controller, much like EA's NBA Live series. The game retains 'My Player" mode, now renamed "My Career" There are new features in the mode which include more off-court activities such as endorsement deals, complex contract negotiations and also for the first time - a social media component, the ability to choose the player's pre-game rituals and attires during events, the ability to talk with the general manager after games, and the ability to have the player speak before tip-off in games. A variety of past players and teams are available, including the 1992 Dream Team, but unlike previous installments, there is no dedicated historical mode. The game also includes a awesome hip-hop soundtrack featuring Jay-Z, Nas, and many more. Music videos are even put into a mini-movie before games start. This adds a very fun and exciting vibe to the game.Mon, 05 Nov 2012 13:28:55 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5320&iddiary=9608NBA 2K13 (PS3) - Mon, 05 Nov 2012 13:02:17https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5320On my birthday I received the new NBA 2K13. The 2k series just keeps on getting better each year. This year the game is executive produced by Jay Z so there are several cool new features. There is a more basketball cultural feel to the game. The environment of the arenas during the game even has a real feel. The first thing I did was play an exhibition game with the OKC Thunder vs the Miami Heat. The graphics of the game are a little enhanced. The players look more realistic from there body movements to their characteristics. Its just amazing. While playing, you kind of get lost in looking at the game itself and the arena. A new addition to the gameplay is the dribbling. You can do an array of moves and have more control of the player while dribbling. The movements are so realistic. Another addition is the pick and roll feature. When you have the ball you can call for a ball screen using L1. Depending on how long you hold L1, the man coming to set the screen could either fade, slip, or roll. This makes the gameplay action have a very realistic basketball feel. The game also has a Celeb team witch includes all of the popular celebs of today's youth culture. In 2k12 you had to unlock the classic oldschool teams but in 2K13 they come already. (This entry has been edited1 time. There are so many elements that are put into this game and the gameplay it is ridiculous. It is a mix of so many genres such as adventure, strategy, puzzle, racing, and of course action. All these different elements make this game special. The frame story is set in the 21st century. I started off by playing as Desmond Miles who was escaping from Abstergo Industries. He is with an employee of the company, Lucy Stillman, after being forced to relive the genetic memories of ancestral assassin through a machine known as the Animus. Desmond has no weapons but the fights are too much fun. The contact on the punches and special moves give you a sense of excitement for what it will be like with swords. After escaping from Abstergo, Desmond enters a device which is more advanced than the original Animus, the Animus 2.0. He relives the genetic memories of ancestral nobleman Ezio, who lived during the Renaissance period of the late 15th century in Italy. The landscape of Italy in this game is very realistic with depictions of historic monuments and churches. The player controls Ezio. I did a couple of missions that included racing my brother on rooftops to beating a rival gang up with my brother. He becomes an Assassin after his father and brothers are murdered by a traitor to their family. This is when the game begins to pick up. Ezio find an assassin suit of his father’s hidden in the house. The game gets more exciting with the more weapons you buy and unlock. Some of the swords, daggers, and throwing knives are awesome to use. Finding treasure chests, completing missions and pick-pocketing people will get the money you need to succeed.Tue, 18 Sep 2012 13:34:15 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5165&iddiary=9432
