Jboos's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1626Assassin's Creed II (360) - Tue, 19 Feb 2013 20:43:51https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5581Assassin's Creed 2 is a great RPG and action-adventure game. Although you are an assassin throughout most of the game, you are actually in a machine called the animus, which simulates past events. This is the premise of the game. In a sense, you are reliving past events through your genes, and your genes date back to previous assassins, who were your ancestors. This may sound a little confusing, but it is the premise of the whole series. Anyway, your job is to find and kill certain targets, as well as perform other objectives relevant to the story. This game has some great new ideas. This game, like Spiderman and Batman Arkam Asylum, is a landscape type game. The character, Enzio, is an assassin who must kill certain targets throughout several different cities in Italy. In this game, like its predecessor, Assassin's Creed I, allows the player to jump across buildings and perform all sorts of stunts, including getting the pounce on all your enemies. This game also includes puzzles, and some play like horseback riding. This game deserves an A+, as it includes all of the correct design features which make the game as entertaining as it is challenging.Tue, 19 Feb 2013 20:43:51 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5581&iddiary=9867Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Wed, 13 Feb 2013 15:09:48https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5565This week I am commenting on Goldeneye 007, which was a very popular Action and FPS Nintendo 64 game. This game, created by developer Rare and publisher Nintendo, was a hit when it came out in 1997, due to the fact that it was one of the first 3D shmups and AI developments. Goldeneye 007 is based on the movie Goldeneye, where secret agent 007 must investigate and stop evil villains from using a secret laser beam satellite from space. The sets from the movie are found all throughout the game, and features an amazing AI for all of the foes you have to shmup. These shmup sprites can become suspicious if they hear gunfire, and can be a danger to you if you are detected, as they will set off an alarm, bringing in the endless array of reinforcements to help take you down. This game, being a secret operations game, is more than a shmup. This game is also a sort of puzzle game, and requires the player to use a series of secret gadgets and devices to either complete various missions or narrowly escape exploding trains and the like. This game also has a multiplayer mode including up to four players, which makes for many hours of gameplay even after the single player mode is completed. This game has great game design, storyline, and outstanding sound tracks. This game is a classic, and A+, and deserves to be in the Hall of great games.Wed, 13 Feb 2013 15:09:48 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5565&iddiary=9862Gears of War 3 (360) - Mon, 11 Feb 2013 14:33:23https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5555This week I am reviewing Microsoft Studios Gears of War 3. This epic game, also created by developer Epic Games ironically, is full of action packed fun and excitement. Since this is the third of its kind, Gears of War 3 has similar story and gameplay like the first Gears of War. To sum up the whole premis, peace and prosperity was finally achieved in the 21st century when suddenly an underground attack by creatures called Locusts. These creatures have now taken the human race into near extinction. Marcus Fenix, the buff military protagonist, runs special operations units as part of the COG (coalition of ordered governments). The third game is yet another attempt at beating the locust creatures and bosses to wipe out the hive and core of the creature base. In the third game there is a mystery disc and search for Marcus' father which are sought out to devise a plan to destroy the locust forces with a blue wave of energy . The game play includes a number of very interesting combat commands, controls, and guns to boot. If you haven't played Gears of War then it would be my pleasure to inform you that there is a chainsaw gun and satellite beam gun to decimate the small to very large enemies. Moving on, I think this would be a great way to get your action and FPS blood pumping as it is a very intense game. Also, it includes Co-op which means you can bring a friend with you along for the ride which I would definitely suggest as a means of coordinating attacks and instead of just enjoying the game by yourself. The gameplay is average length but I bet if you really like it like I did you'll finish it in two sessions. Enjoy!Mon, 11 Feb 2013 14:33:23 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5555&iddiary=9860Age of Empires II (PC) - Wed, 23 Jan 2013 11:01:41https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5536I have played this game for years and it still is a very good game. This Medieval war RTS game was very popular for a lot of good reasons. This game has great storyline as it takes you through historical events in different parts of the world where significant characters come into play. This includes betrayal, revolution, conquest and army building. Depending on how the user wants to win, there are a variety of strategies and techniques the player can employ to battle and conquer. This game will teach you a lot about the history of these famous conquerors and I'm sure will win you a few clues on jeopardy as a result of just enjoying this game. Another great aspect of the game is that you can create your own scenarios by making your own detailed maps. After testing out the features in its map editor you can almost consider yourself to be an amateur game designer. The expansion to this game was the same as the original and stuck to its original idea, which was good. The ability to make you own maps and game rules made for great multi-player on MSN.com but also shut down. I distinctly remember having massive amounts of resources which allowed each player to amass any army to full capacity very quickly. Just imagine. Longbowmen and French Knights inflicting terrible damage to each other only to be replaced in a matter of moments just to do it all over again. An evolution to this game would be splendid but Ensemble studios closed down since 2009 after Halo Wars. This game is an A+ and if you are a strategy type gamer you'll enjoy all of the special units involved in each medieval society. (Includes 13 civilizations btw, including the Britons, Byzantines, Celts, Chinese, Franks, Goths, Japanese, Mongols, Persians, Saracens, Teutons, Turks, and Vikings. If you are any other type of gamer I would not suggest this game because it can be work as much as it can be play, which is typical of most RTS games.Wed, 23 Jan 2013 11:01:41 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5536&iddiary=9837
