EpicDR3AM3R's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1679Super Columbine Massacre (Arcade) - Wed, 15 May 2013 12:27:51https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5683Today I started off where I was last which the school hallways were. I went into the cafeteria and was forced to destroy things which made a bunch of fire. Then after a while there was a flash back. It was one of the killer’s past that took place in the cafeteria. He was talking about how he would always be alone and how he hated everyone. The music in the background had kind of a sad theme to it. I think this is because the game wants the player to experience what the main character was feeling and thinking on that day. However, I did not feel like he did. I just could not bring myself to imagine me in his shoes killing those people. I then got to a part in the game where one of the main characters may have had some regrets. It makes me wonder if maybe something in his head finally clicked. Unfortunately, his friend was still in that state of mind and peer pressured him back into their insane mind set. Just before this, he had another flash back. I believe it was about a time where he was in a school play. He was saying how at the cast party he was going to be left out and alone once again. I understand that he may have had a rough past but from what I’m getting from the game so far, nothing was extremely horrendous about it. He was just alone. Don’t get me wrong, I know that the effects of loneliness vary from person to person. That is another thing I do not understand. My question is: where were his parents and what did they do about this situation? This issue branches out in many directions depending on people’s view. From what the game is showing, he was just a kid that was struggling and to express to the world that he was he killed innocent people.Wed, 15 May 2013 12:27:51 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5683&iddiary=10022Super Columbine Massacre (Arcade) - Tue, 14 May 2013 23:25:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5683When I continued playing today I was shocked. I left off exiting the school and heading down to meet V. Then there was a scene where the two characters were trying to activate the bomb and they couldn’t so then they had to go inside the school. So I’m walking up the walkway and I ran into a person running and it brings me to a fight scene. It took me a few minutes to figure out that I have to kill that person. The reason it did was because I did not want to believe that this game was going to make me kill innocent people and I was extremely shocked when it was true. I quickly picked a weapon and got it over with. For the rest of the time I played I tried to avoid the running victims. I seriously felt sick when I had to kill them even though there was nothing graphic. I really do not like this game. If I had to compare this to GTA, I would say that this game is way more unethical. I cannot begin to explain how much I wanted to stop playing. It was that bad. I think what makes it worse was that the music in the game had a happy feel to it but the whole time I feel sick. It’s as if the game wanted me to feel like killing this people was the right thing to do, as if they were the enemies. I ended it earlier than I did yesterday cause I could not bear see more.Tue, 14 May 2013 23:25:39 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5683&iddiary=10011Super Columbine Massacre (Arcade) - Mon, 13 May 2013 19:46:18https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5683The game Super Columbine Massacre, I would have to say, has been kind of interesting so far. I have to admit, I was a little uncomfortable playing as the shooters because of the fact that this game was based off the real thing. I just did not feel ethically right. I eventually got over it and continued to play. I did not get very far in the game because I was having a few issues. It was a bit difficult to read the text so I was lost for most of the game. I was stuck for about 10 minutes trying to go down the hallway. Then I realized that I was supposed to hide myself for the cameras that were hanging on the walls; then I ran into more problems. When I got to the cafeteria I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I did a little research and finally figured out that I was supposed to do a few things in the basement before I left for the school. That is where I stopped. I am interested in knowing what happens in the game, but, at the same time I’m not. If it is anything like the real thing, I am going to be disappointed in the creators. Unless they are trying to portray a life lesson, recreating an event that is a very serious matter is just wrong, especially because there were children involved.Mon, 13 May 2013 19:46:18 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5683&iddiary=9994Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Wed, 24 Apr 2013 13:00:04https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5656Today, I attempted to play another mission. In this mission I have to beat up the rival gang while maintaining the health of my vehicle. I was not successful in completing this mission so I decided to just roam around. I like that the game allows you to be able to stray away from the storyline. I also really like that there are other missions in the game, like side missions. After I died I spawned at the hospital and I didn’t want to walk all the way because so I decided to steal the ambulance and as I got in it I noticed that there were to missions that I could do. In these missions I have to drive to the injured person and bring them to the hospital as fast as I can. Then the levels increase in difficulty and there are more people that are injured and the same time. As I was doing the missions I found ironic that at the same time I was running people over in order to get to target. I think it is funny how the creators of the game didn’t think about it just decided that it is okay to run over pedestrians as you are trying to save pedestrians. I feel bad that I ran a few people over but at the same time I want to complete the mission. I feel like this game has not really change as a person because I don’t really feel like it is me playing the game as the character. The game is really cheesy and unrealistic so it draws the line between a game and real life.Wed, 24 Apr 2013 13:00:04 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5656&iddiary=9966Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Tue, 23 Apr 2013 23:47:26https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5656Today I played a few more missions in GTA: San Andreas. In one of the missions I had to go beat up some crack dealers. I’m not too sure why but it was still fun. I got to beat them up with baseball bat. In a way it is reasonable to beat up crack dealer because they are bad but it’s ironic because my character isn’t so good himself. After that mission I got a phone call from one of my “home boys” telling me that I had to buy clothes to represent my “hood”. Overall I like the concept of GTA but this one is super cheesy. It could be because the game came out a long time ago. For example, when my character picked up his phone, I noticed that it was one of those brick phone. I am also use to playing on the xbox rather than the PC. I barely found out today that the space bar makes you run faster. I dislike the way the camera works in this game. I changed the invent camera option and it helped a tiny bit but it was still difficult to use.Tue, 23 Apr 2013 23:47:26 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5656&iddiary=9958Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Mon, 22 Apr 2013 21:32:10https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5656As I was playing GTA: San Andreas, I tried to stay focused on learning how to play the game as well as discovering the violent aspect of the game’s storyline. In the beginning, after the first cut scene, I got on a bike and rode around aimlessly for a while, running people over. Eventually, I decided to figure out what the controls of the game were. Since I was playing the game on my laptop, I found the controls to be a little confusing. After ten minutes, it eventually got easier. The storyline of San Andreas centers around CJ, a guy who comes back to his childhood home after spending time in jail to bury his mom. His welcome back home is soon cut short; however, when the police arrest him and drive him back to his neighborhood. Back at his neighborhood, I got to meet CJ’s crew, who made me do missions for them. These missions revolved around robbing fast food restaurants, shooting other gang members, and trying to stay alive on the streets. So, we fought and I won and then went around the town punching people in the face until the police were after me and eventually wasted me. I got bored of that so I decided to do the first mission. “My gang” and I had to ride away from I think were the rival gang. As we were riding on our bikes, they were in their car and one of them was shooting me which was completely unfair for the beginning of the game because all I could do was ride away from them quickly. Then there was a second mission where we had to “tag” the other gang’s territory. I got up to the point where I had to spray paint a wall that was near the enemy. I still did not have any kind of weapons yet other than my first. Well, that’s what I thought at first. My first intention was to use the spray can and that’s when I discovered that they do take damage from it. The reason why I initially thought of using the spray can as a weapon was because of the setting of the game, the way the characters talk and act and all the violent influences the game possesses. Since I have played GTA before, I did not feel guilty when running over innocent people. The very first time I played GTA, however, I did everything in my power to follow the law and not break rules because I was scared of the consequences until I got to one mission. It required me to kill the enemy and no matter what I do to avoid getting in trouble with the police they would show up anyways because that is the way the game was made. This is one of the reasons I do not see GTA to be very ethical.Mon, 22 Apr 2013 21:32:10 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=5656&iddiary=9940
