U1099989's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1983HITMAN (XBONE) - Thu, 08 Nov 2018 21:36:40https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6893For my second real mission, I infiltrated a secret lab, of scientists developing a virus designed to kill. Getting in was relatively easy, but searching around the mansion and trying to avoid guards that would recognize you became much harder than the first mission, as guards are posted everywhere to defend both your targets and the virus. As I went through this secret underground lab, swarming with scientists and guards, I found it much harder to be non-lethal. If an enemy witnesses you knocking out guards and if they are discovered and woken up, they will tell all guards what you were wearing, and make it impossible to move around with the same disguise. This drove me to kill my witnesses, instead of just rendering them unconscious, as I was able to more freely move around and kill my targets, unlike my previous attempts. Other than a stealth ranking at the end and non-lethal goals, I found it much easier to do other challenges by killing and clearing out areas stealthily.Thu, 08 Nov 2018 21:36:40 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6893&iddiary=12315HITMAN (XBONE) - Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:10:03https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6893As I dove into the first real mission, I was overwhelmed. I was a guest at this giant party, with a secret KGB meeting to sell out British spies. There was so much to do and see, so many conversations to listen in on, to find hints and clues as of what to do. There were so many items scattered around that I could use however I felt, I could be as stealthy as possible or kill whoever spotted me to keep anyone with a gun off my tracks. It was exhilarating and stressful, as I tried to only incapacitate those who got in my way and to go undetected. It was hard, as it takes much longer and is more conspicuous to go up to someone and choke them out, instead of shooting them with a silenced pistol, or just shooting up an entire wing of the mansion to get to my target. As I tried to achieve different challenges, I found myself learning the mansion more and more, until I knew exactly what to do each time I came back. It felt rewarding to be stealthy, to weave in and out of the crowd, dawning different costumes and deceiving the NPC's surrounding you.Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:10:03 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6893&iddiary=12283HITMAN (XBONE) - Wed, 07 Nov 2018 00:40:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6893As I started playing the first few tests you're given to decide if you become an agent, I was almost overwhelmed with all the options your given to complete a single mission. I tried a few different paths, killing everyone in sight to get to my target, sneaking in as a guard to get to his office and plant explosives, and dressing as a sailor to poison my targets drink. Going through the next mission, I didn't know where to start, as there were at least five special options to kill my target, and I could just run around or go in guns ablaze. Hitman lets you choose your method of play, to find what you enjoy, and gives you the option to complete challenges to find different options and play styles during missions, so you can blend in and be unseen.Wed, 07 Nov 2018 00:40:39 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6893&iddiary=12245Nier Automata (PC) - Thu, 27 Sep 2018 18:30:41https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6813As I left the bunker, I was drawn into the game by the beautiful world and the freedom to explore I was given. And as I went to help the resistance, the machine enemies I found were progressively getting weirder. Some would just stand around, some were violent, but as I went out into the desert, they started to talk. Asking for help, saying "run away", talking about the pain they were in. 2B was hesitant to attack, but 9S reminded her they couldn't speak, they were just repeating random strings of words. But as I progressed, it got worse. The machines were wearing tribal outfits, attempting to have sex, and pretending to care for a child. After fighting me with a large horde of machines, they came together and made what appeared to be another android. I didn't attack it, and it didn't move or attack me, as the game urged me to get rid of it, I begrudgingly attacked it. The "thing" started to evolve, learning how to dodge, shield, and return attacks. After a long battle, I stabbed him with 9S, and I thought he was dead. As 2B walked away, he emerged from his own body as another android, healed. I couldn't tell what even was going on anymore as I ran away.Thu, 27 Sep 2018 18:30:41 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6813&iddiary=12156Nier Automata (PC) - Wed, 26 Sep 2018 00:34:19https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6813As I progressed farther, I encountered the first boss, a hulking monolith of a robot. It looked nothing like the enemies I had previously faced, but I fought on. As the fight drew on, it started chanting kill, kill, kill, kill. 2B acknowledged this, commenting that she didn't know the machines were capable of sentience. After losing my partner 9S, and using the robots own arm to defeat it, 2B is then greeted by three more of these giant machines, chanting kill. 2B, showing more emotion over 9S than ever before, use their black cubes to destroy the area around them, killing them and the machines. This is when 2B and 9S are resurrected, letting the player feel as if they'd already lost a character. It's introduced that all these humans are androids created by humans to get rid of the alien machines that invade Earth. 2B is different than she was before, she kept her memory of the incident, she starts to show snippets of emotion, what she told 9S, to discard.Wed, 26 Sep 2018 00:34:19 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6813&iddiary=12093Nier Automata (PC) - Tue, 25 Sep 2018 00:51:21https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6813As I've started the game, the first impressions I'm given of the enemies and environment are of how cold it is, how industrialized and machine-like everything is. As the enormous map is introduced, there are only a few things with any emotion, a few birds, some greenery, and your partner 9S, who shows a few emotions when first talking with 2B. He states how glad he is to have a partner, and is immediately scorned by 2B, who states emotions are prohibited, causing him to fluster up. This happens in between snippets of combat between robot enemies, as you continue, the robots adapt, coming in different shapes and sizes, and slowly increase in difficulty. I'm excited for what's to come.Tue, 25 Sep 2018 00:51:21 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6813&iddiary=12071Little Nightmares (Switch) - Thu, 06 Sep 2018 21:44:46https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6770As I closed out the game, it became more and more clear that every character in the game wears a mask, as each of the guests boarding the ship has a much darker skin tone than their mask. As these giant figures shuffle along, you find around every single turn, someone is trying to eat you, and even if they can't, they return to stuffing their faces. After all this, you become hungry once again, with a little gnome holding a sausage, as to help satiate your hunger. I knew what was coming, but the game didn't give me a choice. The game made me kill what I wanted to save, not even giving me a chance or opportunity to save the little gnome as six chewed through it. As I went through the lady's chambers, I knew it would come. As I defeated her, she lay on the ground struggling to get up, her neck exposed to me as six's stomach growled once again. Never given a choice. I had to do it. As I bit into her neck, the darkness swirled around me, I had gained her powers. Six then walked down the aisle, as I was left, as each guest around me died as they tried to eat six. Each pig meeting their fate quickly, as all I could do was walk forward, their necks snapping, their breath halting. I was powerless to do anything but watch.Thu, 06 Sep 2018 21:44:46 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6770&iddiary=12034Little Nightmares (Switch) - Thu, 06 Sep 2018 00:33:24https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6770As I descend into a darker atmosphere, there is less and less relatability with six. As her hunger intensifies, she even eats a live rat stuck in a trap. Mirroring how the children from earlier in the game are shown to be turned into meals by the twin chefs. The only respites of hope now are finding lanterns and gnomes. Giving each gnome a hug as I uncover the secret areas where they hide gives me something to look forward too. But at the same time, I have the choice to sacrifice the gnomes or use them as a distraction. This can lead to hard choices, but I'd rather save the gnomes at any cost, rather than sacrifice them.Thu, 06 Sep 2018 00:33:24 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6770&iddiary=12033
