eymerin's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1992Little Nightmares (PS4) - Fri, 09 Nov 2018 09:57:22https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6879After playing again I still have so many unanswered questions. I have no idea what is going on in the game. The monsters are pretty cool though. I can't tell if the ship is theirs, or if something happened to the people of the ship to turn them into monsters. The biggest issue that stands out to me is why is the main character alone on this ship? did she have nobody to take care of her?Fri, 09 Nov 2018 09:57:22 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6879&iddiary=12338Little Nightmares (PS4) - Wed, 07 Nov 2018 22:56:33https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6879I got past the first chapter today and probably halfway into the second. I have really liked the puzzles in this game. They have all felt very natural and appropriate to the story and environment. In this next chapter there was another point at which I needed to eat some food, but this time I found some meat in a cage. When I went to get the meat the cage was closed on me. I thought it was pretty cool and I have to say I wasn't fully expecting it.Wed, 07 Nov 2018 22:56:33 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6879&iddiary=12275Little Nightmares (PS4) - Tue, 06 Nov 2018 18:49:36https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6879I started Little nightmares today and i have enjoyed it so far. It has been odd that there is not any speaking or interacting with other characters. Mostly just avoiding them. I thought it was nice that when my character was getting really hungry a stranger in the mess hall threw me some bread. So far there has been no explanation of who I am, who anyone else is, or why I am on this ship. The horror elements of this game have been really interesting given the games artistic style. It feels like playing a Coraline game or something like that.Tue, 06 Nov 2018 18:49:36 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6879&iddiary=12230Nier Automata (PS4) - Tue, 25 Sep 2018 21:31:06https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6793I helped gather supplies and equipment for a weapon vendor while playing today. He made an interesting observation when he said something like "these new weapons should help keep my friends alive. Or maybe they will kill them faster..." I thought there was a good point about war in this statement. The need to arm soldiers indicates the danger they are in. Well outfitted soldiers are the ones that will see action. I don't think that arming soldiers causes them to be in danger of being killed though. They are related, but one does not cause the other.Tue, 25 Sep 2018 21:31:06 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6793&iddiary=12076Nier Automata (PS4) - Mon, 24 Sep 2018 21:02:33https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6793The game map has opened up quite a bit while playing today. I completed a few missions for some people on earth. Mostly gathering supplies. I did progress in the story a bit too. I found a colony of robots that mimic human behavior and actually speak with each other. Then they all banded together and created a very lifelike android for some reason. The question I had was why do the humans believe they can destroy these machines when many of these machines seem to have become intelligent. Also, what level of intelligence is required to merit this special consideration? Many people would insist that even unintelligent animals have just as valuable lives as humans do. I thought it was interesting that you play a character who can back up their mind and memories wirelessly if they are about to die. This was surprising after the main fight sequence when your character wakes up in what I assume is a new body.Thu, 20 Sep 2018 12:52:04 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6793&iddiary=12039Hitman (PS4) - Wed, 29 Aug 2018 16:16:11https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6729While playing today my mission was to kill 2 people that are leading a revolt against the Moroccan government. The idea in killing them is that it will restore peace and make the country more stable. My big problem with this is that depending on who you ask, you may get different answers n whether the government needs to be overthrown. To most Americans, the American Revolution was absolutely necessary. So when I kill revolutionary leaders, am I helping to oppress the people they are fighting to free? And who am I to be making these decisions? For any governmental system, an national government that is not supported by it's people is not going to work. Eventually the people correct what is wrong should the opportunity present itself.Wed, 29 Aug 2018 16:16:11 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6729&iddiary=11943Hitman (PS4) - Mon, 27 Aug 2018 22:56:24https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6729While playing today, my mission was to infiltrate a large mansion. Inside, I was to kill 2 targets and destroy a virus. I think most people would view weaponizing a virus as a bad thing, and thus it's destruction as a good thing. I also killed the 2 people most responsible for it being created. While playing, it is always a good idea to disguise yourself appropriately to get into certain areas. This aspect of the game raises a lot of moral questions for me though. One major opportunity to get in disguised as a cook presented itself to me and I took it. Doing so required me to break into his apartment and knock him out, then steal his uniform and security card. This was the man's first day on the job, one that I am sure he will lose after this incident. I did not kill him, but I did cause a serious problem in his life. There were many other people I ended up knocking out including guards, cleaning staff, scientists, and tourists. I think the biggest ethical question this level raised for me was do the ends really justify the means?Mon, 27 Aug 2018 22:56:24 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6729&iddiary=11907Hitman (PS4) - Sun, 26 Aug 2018 17:17:19https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6729I began playing Hitman today. I like it quite a bit so far. I got past the tutorial sections and through the first 2 missions so far. I have been very happy with how much freedom of choice is given to the player in how they accomplish their goals. There are some major and obvious ethical issues in this game in which you play as an assassin. The game does not allow the player to choose not to kill the specific targets in the mission. But the game does allow the player to decide how many other casualties are necessary for completing the mission. Each time you subdue someone there is an option to kill them. You can hide people that were knocked out or killed, and this could reduce your need to kill again to cover your tracks. The main character himself I don't know too much about yet to make any ethical judgement of him aside from him being an assassin. I like that the game tends to punish the sloppy player who would go in and kill freely. This punishment takes the form of enemies flocking to you to kill you, making the game much harder than necessary. There is a general feeling given by the game that the fewer bodies you create, the less trouble you will have when playing.Sun, 26 Aug 2018 17:17:19 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6729&iddiary=11893
