DevShukla's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=2003This is the police (PC) - Thu, 08 Nov 2018 23:47:46https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6904The story is phenomenal. The satire present in the game and the sheer resemblance of how perfectly it captures this world is just awesome. The writing is great and reminds me of Bojack Horseman and Blackadder. The music is brilliantly picked and so are the voice actors. However, the gameplay is a bit meh. It is repetitive which makes it boring after a while.Thu, 08 Nov 2018 23:47:46 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6904&iddiary=12322This is the police (PC) - Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:55:37https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6904Starting off with the obvious, I love the comic book panel-style narration of the story. It looks interesting and feels new when compared to the common CG narration. The voice acting is decent and gives me the vibes of L.A.Noire which was an amazing game. I am not a big fan of strategy games and this was no different. I was more looking forward to the cutscene than to play the actual game which was kind of disappointing since I am a sucker for anything related to detective games. Although, again really dug the art style.Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:55:37 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6904&iddiary=12291Nier Automata (PC) - Thu, 27 Sep 2018 20:43:27https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6816I completed more quest lines and overall, I am finding it an interesting game. Being said that, I am not a huge fan of the ‘open – world’ introduced in Nier – Automata. I believe that the world could a bit more linear and there could have fewer invisible walls. The story is really good but still can’t say anything about it because haven’t completed the game. And, I found out that the game has 26 different endings so that is going to be fun.Thu, 27 Sep 2018 20:43:27 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6816&iddiary=12163Nier Automata (PC) - Thu, 27 Sep 2018 20:16:23https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6816So, I completed the some of the quests, and I gotta say, the combat is really growing on me. It’s fun and challenging at the same time. The boss fights were alright, and, the music is really good. That being said, the thing that I love the most about this game is the NPC dialogues. I love how they are open-ended and require you to keep on thinking about them. For example, one of the quests requires you to find raw materials for the supply trader so that the players can buy plug-in chips. Once, you get those and go to him, he starts talking about his busted leg and how he does not want to repair his leg, all of his body parts are repaired except for his left leg and he just wants to keep it original, because he is afraid that might lose himself into something he isn’t. And that just makes you think, whether, that is a possibility. With all the machines and advanced robotics research happening all around the world to find something close to making humans immortal, is it true that after being something like that, we will just lose ourselves into something we aren’t?Thu, 27 Sep 2018 20:16:23 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6816&iddiary=12162Nier Automata (PC) - Tue, 25 Sep 2018 20:44:30https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6816Nier: Automata is developed by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix. It is a sequel to the 2010 game ‘Nier’. First things first, I love the art style of Nier. I love the scale of everything. The gameplay was quite interesting as well. Even though I haven’t been much into the game, free-floating combat was fun, and I can’t wait to complete the game.Tue, 25 Sep 2018 20:44:30 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6816&iddiary=12075Hitman (Complete First Season) (PC) - Thu, 30 Aug 2018 23:01:16https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6739Even though I am against the idea of being able to assassinate whomever you want, I liked the bit during the cutscene where Agent 47’s handler is all about how INA is neutral and doesn’t allow itself to be manipulated because it knows how heavily it affects a nation’s politics. We got to see this in action during the Marrakesh mission where you have to kill the Moroccan General Reza Zaydan and Swedish banker Claus Strandberg. Overall, the mission was good and I like the cause for it.Thu, 30 Aug 2018 23:01:16 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6739&iddiary=11997Hitman (Complete First Season) (PC) - Wed, 29 Aug 2018 18:37:17https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6739Hitman is a game where you actually question whether anything that you are doing, is it morally wrong to do? Assassinations are bad indeed and you should always live by the law, but, what if the people, whom, you are trying to assassinate aren’t living by them. To put this into context, let’s say you could go back in time and get one chance to kill someone like Hitler, would you try to be moral or would you take it? And I know that this is just a game, but to put forth a factual argument, in today’s world where money can get you anything, is assassinating someone who you know is never going behind bars is really wrong? In one of the starting missions, you are instructed to kill someone who had stolen countless priceless items. Even though Interpol was on him, they were unable to get him. And, yeah, you are trying to get him because killing him would give you money but wouldn’t it do us a favor as well, in a situation, where you know he can’t go behind bars? Even though there is no such thing as an ethical choice in this game, this game does provide us with social commentary on whether is it morality that defines us or money? Are we, humans, so incompetent that we can’t decide what is morally correct or incorrect? Or is it that deep down we know what is right but due to the world not being perfect, we just assume that that’s how it is. We know that bribing is wrong but just because we see how the world works, we just assume that what we are doing is how it is meant to be. And of all games, Hitman made me think about this issue. Also, assassination is bad, and law is the true way to go.Wed, 29 Aug 2018 18:37:17 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6739&iddiary=11948Hitman (Complete First Season) (PC) - Wed, 29 Aug 2018 18:36:38https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6739I have successfully completed the Paris and Sapienza mission in Hitman and I think it is a good game. A decent game. I love stealth games where the AI isn’t stupid, and you actually have to look around to find opportunities to explore and use them to your advantage. The gameplay looks and feels polished and every right step you take towards your ultimate goal feels rewarding. I don’t like the fact that it has what I call ‘the Witcher sense’, I feel that it takes away the fear of getting caught by an enforcer if you are not attentive enough to look at your surroundings. The story is yet to be revealed and I am really looking forward to it. There is one thing that really caught my eye after completing the Paris mission. So, it was the beginning of the mission and I was trying out all sorts of things, and in accidentally, I snapped a one of the guard’s. At that time, I thought that it is not going to be a huge deal but, in the end,, during the mission review, I was actually penalized for killing an innocent person. Also, in the Sapienza cutscene, the narrator talks about the client (who is a major stockholder in Ether) wanting to destroy the virus on the ethical grounds. All these facts let me to believe that even though, Agent 47 is an assassin, he works for an organisation that believes in ethical and moral values and respect its trade.
