Marcellano's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=20071979 Revolution: Black Friday (PC) - Thu, 08 Nov 2018 21:46:22https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6890I have now beaten the game. It was a lot shorter than I expected it to be, it took me just under 2 hours to complete. The game's story was very good and the style/game play was also done very well. Being able to feel like you are actually participating in the revolution and making impactful decisions made the game quite entertaining. The only down sides I have for the game, is that most of the decisions you have to make you do not know the entire context of the situation. Which makes it hard to chose the "right" thing to do. I could have missed some things though, but I really tried to inspect and do everything I could possibly find, so when it came to those important decisions I had a good idea of everything going on and knew what to do. Another thing that was a bit of a problem was some small bugs here and there. There will be times where you go to inspect something and pick it up and you get stuck on that screen and no matter what you do or press you cannot exit out of it. It made me have to start over on a couple of chapters but it was not too big of a deal. The game really made you chose between two or three very different options most of the time. Mostly there was at least one that was obviously considered morally wrong to most people, such as wrongfully killing someone. And another that could be considered morally right, such as helping a wounded person. I really used my own morals to make decisions, because the in game timer forced you to make a decision quick, and I could not really apply too much from class to help make my choices.Thu, 08 Nov 2018 21:46:22 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6890&iddiary=123171979 Revolution: Black Friday (PC) - Wed, 07 Nov 2018 23:56:46https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6890Played about another hour of the game. Really enjoying the story so far. There are a lot of conflicting interests with a lot of the characters. Your family members seem to be on various different sides, and the game is beginning to make me choose what side to be on. It is quite a hard choice because this game has the tendency to put me in scenarios to make choices on things that I have no idea about ( I learn about them later on). I want to side with my family members but if I side with one of them, I usually end up betraying another. The game does become stressful as well, and I have gotten other characters killed unintentionally. Which the game tries to make you feel bad about. Overall I am really liking the game so far. It is like watching a long movie, but I get to change the story and participate at certain moments, and it makes the game quite enjoyable!Wed, 07 Nov 2018 23:56:46 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6890&iddiary=122811979 Revolution: Black Friday (PC) - Wed, 07 Nov 2018 00:46:48https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6890I have just played about an hour into the game so far. It has a really good story! But, not all of it is explained most of the time. This game is made up of decisions that you make, and the decisions you get to chose from usually are things that you do not know or fully understand yet. And with such a quick timer for you to make your choices, the game forces to make decisions you normally wouldn't have, or just the wrong ones (I have already died once). The character animations look really nice overall. And I like all the quick time events and reactions you have to do in the game, it makes it so you have to really pay attention the whole time! But, it makes it a little too tense at moments because I always want to make the "right" choice, the choice I feel that I would truly make if I was actually in the situation myself, but I always seem to run out of time. The game seems to be historically accurate as there all real pictures put side by side to the ones I have to take in the game of the revolution. Which leads me to believe that the story of the game is loosely based on true events, and that makes the game seem a lot more intriguing.Wed, 07 Nov 2018 00:46:48 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6890&iddiary=12246This is the Police (PC) - Thu, 27 Sep 2018 22:22:52https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6817Really enjoying this game! I am now well over 3-4 hours in, and the story just gets better and better! A new character has just been introduced to the main story, a man named Vargas. He is the leader of another mafia/crime organization. He is competing with the Sands, the mafia group I was helping before. But, he seems like a slightly cooler guy so I have now decided to help him, and get rid of the Sands. With two mafia/crime organizations in the city, there has been a lot more crime, and I have been made to choose to help one group or the other. To make things a little more complicated, smaller criminals are starting to do bigger and bigger criminal activities. Not only was there a man trying to commit suicide on the bridge but there were 5 armed mean with automatic weapons killing people at the docs and the two major mafia groups going at it, all at the same time! I had just lost 3 officers for questioning, whatever the purpose for that may be. And it was really hard to spread out my remaining officers to all the areas. Not only am I now short on officers, and overwhelmed with criminal activity at multiple points in the city. I now have to please the mayor, and have my police force, detectives and officers, at least half be female. I have a 3 day deadline, which will come before I can ask the mayor for a favor, such as adding another slot to hire officers, or get a pay increase. Which would help a lot, but that is not going to happen. This will be an interesting couple of in-game days to see how it all pans out, and changes the story.Thu, 27 Sep 2018 22:22:52 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6817&iddiary=12169This is the Police (PC) - Wed, 26 Sep 2018 21:16:43https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6817After playing for about another 2 hours, the game has become much harder and more complicated. Not only do I have to satisfy the people of the city. I also have to satisfy the Mayor. And if he is not satisfied then he can do things such as, take a cut out of my salary, or reduce the amount of officers I can have. Which have both happened to me so far. So now not only am I down some officers, I am also making less money. But, on top of all that, I also now have to satisfy the Mafia, which is becoming quite a difficult situation. The Mafia and the Mayor seem to have some conflicting interests and the Mafia is just a wild card. They go from small crimes, that do not matter too much to stop, to killing people and robbing casinos. I have had to stop one of their jobs because they have been getting a little out of control and now they are upset with me. Not only does the game give you harder decisions to make, and more groups to satisfy, there are also political issues you have to handle as well. The biggest one is blacks. There has been a lot of violence with black people and the people asked to fire all of my black officers recently or they would riot. I did not fire any of them, and the Mayor became unsatisfied with me. And now the Mayor seems to be turning into a bit of a racist, not allowing blacks at certain meetings and so forth, so I have been not focusing on his matters as much anymore, although he is cutting my money and officers available. The story is definitely getting more interesting now with all of the conflicts going on, and the game play is getting much more complex. The game is now quite challenging as well, which makes it more enjoyable and adds a lot more stress on the decisions I have to make.Wed, 26 Sep 2018 21:16:43 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6817&iddiary=12109This is the Police (PC) - Tue, 25 Sep 2018 22:13:05https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6817The game overall is pretty fun! I like the soundtrack, and the option to choose what song plays while you take calls. The game really focuses on story a lot, which is actually fairly interesting so far. There seems to be some sketchy stuff going on at the station, from the "cinematics" i've seen. They're more like comic strips, but with some animations and dialogue. The game play is very simple and not too complex yet, but there appears to be many things I have not unlocked yet. With how much depth the main story has, I assume the game play will also have a lot of depth to it as well.Tue, 25 Sep 2018 22:13:05 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6817&iddiary=12081Little Nightmares (PC) - Fri, 31 Aug 2018 09:45:24https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6751After playing the game for another hour. I am now stuck in a room with Long arms. He chased me down a hallway passed closing doors. When I got through the last door there was a cage below it that stopped it form closing all of the way. Long arms is currently reaching his arms under the door trying to grab me. I am stuck in there because I have no clue what to do. There is a latch and a box of what appears to be rags, and then two cage stacked on top of each other. I am unable to move either cage nor the box of rags, and I am far too short to reach the latch. I have been jumping around the room for about 15 minutes now, trying every possible thing. I've tried pulling the cage from under the door to try and crush his arms. That didn't work. I tried jumping from on top of the 2 cages and grabbing the latch to open it, and that didn't work either. I will give it some more attempts. After many more attempts I have finally escaped that room. I tried a couple more time to move the cage from under the door and finally succeed. It turns out you had to carefully sneak past his arms and take apart the cage without being grabbed. It took some time but it was well worth it! The door slammed shut and long arms, is not quite long arms anymore, as both his arms were cut off when the door slammed! Earlier when I was playing I forgot to mention I found another one of Long arm's rooms. It was an odd looking room, and he seemed to have a collection of toys in there. All the toys looked like little people like my character. It is starting to make more sense now, maybe the little people are not meant to be eaten or anything like that, maybe we are being taken to be used as play toys? Still not entirely sure yet! My experience with this game so far has been great! Being almost 3 hours into the game now, I am really enjoying it. I love playing horror, mystery, and plat former games, so it's a nice fit for me.Fri, 31 Aug 2018 09:45:24 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6751&iddiary=12017Little Nightmares (PC) - Wed, 29 Aug 2018 22:06:28https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6751Now that I have played the game for about an hour and a half. I am starting to understand the game a lot more. It seems that I am a being, of a smaller and lesser species. And all of the larger/big people imprison all the smaller ones. The first area appeared to be a prison of sorts. And I even got an achievement for "The Prison". So essentially I was just trying to escape prison the whole time. The agenda of the bigger people do not seem too obvious yet. As I have only seen other small people in cells or being carried off by the bigger people. The bigger ones do not seems to talk so there is no dialogue to go off from yet. One of the bigger people, I will call Long Arms, appears most frequently throughout the game so far. He is a creepy looking guy with cloth wrapped around the top half of his head, and a hat on top. I call him long arms because, well his arms and literally twice the length of his body. He seems to almost have no legs at all, as you only see his torso with a coat over it and then just his shoes popping out of the bottom as he walks around. There is one part where you stumble into his room while he is working, and he is pulling out small people from the cages and wrapping them all up in cloth and then tossing them into a cart, and you have to sneak past him without making too much sound. But, it seems as if he is preparing them for something later on. Maybe preparing them to be eaten later?Wed, 29 Aug 2018 22:06:28 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6751&iddiary=11955Little Nightmares (PC) - Tue, 28 Aug 2018 22:49:56https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6751I chose Little Nightmares for my game log. It is a horror game, with a bit of mystery to it. I start out by playing what seems to be a young kid, in a rain coat. The only moral thing I came across in the game so far, is that you do not want to make loud noises when the bigger people are around. Because it will make them mad and then they kill you. The moral philosophy of it seems to be that, they do not like loud noises, because the room you first encounter a bigger person, is filled with beds and babies. And you do not want to wake the babies up. The art of the game is obviously horror themed. And anything that is disfigured like one of the first people you meet or unnatural, the little people with big heads, is seen as dangerous, or something you should avoid. Like the black slugs on the ground and big headed, or disfigured people. So far the game has a very limited help system. The only help tips that I have encountered so far were, how to sprint and how to climb. Everything else was fairly self-explanatory. WASD to move and Space-bar to jump.Tue, 28 Aug 2018 22:49:56 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=6751&iddiary=11927
