I moved on to the room with the spiderwebs and the spiders with the skulls. It took me awhile to not only figure out to light the stick on fire to solve one room but also took me a long time to discover how to get through the big spiderweb hole at the bottom of the room. Then I discovered you have to jump on it from high up. Aiming was difficult. After much difficulty I finally beat the first dungeon. I moved on to the castle. After many failed attempts of passing the guards, I made it to Princess Zelda and learned her lullaby. I can't decide if I like playing this game. I know I like watching other people play it-I enjoy the graphics, the sounds and the characters.Fri, 09 Feb 2007 19:00:00 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1142&iddiary=2710Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) - Tue, 06 Feb 2007 19:16:08https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1142I just started playing Zelda for the first time. (I know that is unheard of) I had a very hard time deciphering the storyline. I was confused by the introduction-the charachter needs a fairy because everyone else has to have a fairy to be considered a man. He doesn't have a fairy, but now he does. I thought this part of the introduction was a little unecessary and just confused me even more. I also had a rough time figuring out the controls and where I was supposed to go. I spent a good twenty minutes figuring out how to buy a sheild and another twenty getting what I needed to buy the shield and finding my way back to the store. I guess I'm not a big fan of games based mostly off of a story that has you read a lot of things on the screen. Am I watching a cartoon or am I playing a game? I mastered the first level.Tue, 06 Feb 2007 19:16:08 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1142&iddiary=2457Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 20:17:10https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=616I have progressed to unlimited mode on the moon. In order to get to unlimited mode on the moon, you have to get as big as 800m in 30 minutes. The origional goal to beat the level is 500m so this was quite a challenge. In unlimited mode, you can pick up everything with no time limit or challenge. You can get unlimited mode on many of the stars as well. I find unlimited mode to be quite enjoyable and I have been able to pick up everything on the moon. In this mode you can make challenges for yourself. For example, in order to get as big as possible, you have to pick up all the small things before you progress to the big things, maximizing your size. If you pick up bigger things as soon as you are able to, your size does not reach its potential. I had a lot of fun finding the right strategy to reach this maximum potential.Tue, 30 Jan 2007 20:17:10 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=616&iddiary=2108Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:24:16https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=616I have continued the battle with Katamari Damacy. I progressed from the fourth star to the seventh. I found myself struggling with the constellations. The constellations have one of two versions, picking up as much as you can of one item or getting as big as you can before picking up a certain item. For example, for cancer, you have to pick up as many crabs as you can. For another constellation you have to get as big as you can before picking up a cow. I have trouble with the latter version. The problem I have is that I can't tell if something is a cow or not. There is of course large cows, but there are also very small things like milk cartons that count as cows which your Katamari rolls up without your knowing it. Once you roll up one of these items that count as cows, the level is over without you getting your Katamari as big as you would like, thus less points. These levels are the most difficult.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:24:16 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=616&iddiary=1812Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Fri, 12 Jan 2007 15:21:07https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=616Katamari is probably the most addictive video game I have ever encountered. Your task is to roll up many fantastically random items with a ball. The ball starts very small, the smaller the ball, the smaller the things are that you are allowed to roll up. As you gather more things, your ball will grow bigger and thus you will be allowed to pick up more things. The game starts with you being able to pick up thumb tacks and packs of gum to whole cities. The controls for the ball are rather difficult, and depending on the shape of the items you pick up, more lopsided and difficult it is to move it. The camera angles are also a challege, especially during the two player 'vs' mode. The camera follows directly behind the Katamari ball as opposed to the entire area you are working in. Despite these difficulties, I still can't stop playing.Fri, 12 Jan 2007 15:21:07 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=616&iddiary=1422
