As you fight the levels enable you to move around and jump on obsticles. Moreover their are different types of objects one can use against there opponent. The most amazing quality this game shows is the fact that you can play 4 players and go into an all out war. There are even game modes where you are able to fight almost an infinate number of CPU opponents.Fri, 23 Feb 2007 03:09:48 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1386&iddiary=2937Super Smash Brothers (N64) - Fri, 23 Feb 2007 02:55:45https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1386Super smash brothers is amazing because it integrates many nintendo characters from the past. From star fox to mario to Donkey Kong the original characters are represented. The characters all have special powers from all their original roles. Not to mention that there really are so many characters to choose from. The characters all represent different stages in nintendo so it is really fun to see the progression through the games of nintendo. The levels take you all over the place and include a variety of plains accross many different platforms. The detail of the backgrounds of the levels and the different setup of the levels make it so much fun to play. I already beat the game so all the cars and levels are unlocked. The way they do it is that there are 3 classes of cars Muscle, Tuner, and Exotic. This enables the user to start out with a car with more power(Muscle), or more turning(tuner), or a balance of both(exotic). This is cool because based on your preference of controls one can choose what best fits there strengths, however just because you pick that class doesn't mean you cant drive own or use different car classes. I was astonished at the detail used on the car designs. I actually have a Dodge Charger SRT 8 and the car is in the game. The car is exactly how they picture it in the game even the way it drives. Moreover from the back window you can see the dash and stereo unit and stuff and all the colors knobs and gauge decals colors' are true to the real model. This is the second Need for speed available for XBOX 360. This game is a step up from the last one. The game play is really fun and fast. You are able to navigate through the town and able to choose races in the town or just warp there through the map. None to less there is a variety of types of races. There are just straight races with four other cars. Where the goal is to win while the percentage of the race is shown and you must get the furthest fastest. The next type of race is a checkpoint race where you are the only car and you proceed to hit all the checkpoints in the allotted time. Then there are circuit races where you must race 6 other cars but you get a teammate and have two laps to complete. Then there are drift races where you are the only car and you must drift and combo turns to gain a certain amount of points. Then the last type of race is the canyon duels where you are against one other car and you must pass him or trail close in the first stint down the windy hill and then keep them from passing you on the second stint down the hill and whoever does so more efficiently wins. Another factor of game play here is the police. If you are breaking the law your heat will rise and cops will chase you. This aspect of the game makes it pretty realistic and one can gain bonuses for getting away or taking out police vehicles. I think adjusting the camera as you go is important to the game play. This game is one of the first to let you explore in a 3-d way. I think the camera being able to turn adds a really unique touch to the game. I have noticed that the game stays true to the original. I think that is immensely important while creating games across platforms, do what got you there. Mario keeps the same characters even though the game play is so different it amazing to see that the story was still the same and the overall objective to stop bowser hadn't changed. All in all I think Mario is one of the most influential games of our times for many reasons and I think that it revolutionized role playing games.Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:20:51 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=953&iddiary=2087mario 64 (N64) - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:04:05https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=953The reason Mario 64 was such a huge hit is because it takes the old classic Mario games and transforms those into a three dimensional playing space. I think that the fact that Mario has so many different places to explore really are what makes the game. Not only is the actual game world loaded with a variety of places to go but the actual levels which there are many of have many different challenges to conquer. The similarity in levels is cool to because there is kind of the same tasks to a certain extent in each level. There are the 6 different star challenges on each level. There are clues to each one though and there is always a red coin star and a secret star, then usually a boss of some sort that gives you a star, and on most a race or something similar. Then two to three individual to each level. I am currently playing the first level which is cool because one is taught the different moves. What really sets this Mario at a whole new level than any role playing game before if is the three dimensional playing space and the different jumps and slides and crouches that are available. The triple jump and double jump which allow you to really get to spaces that are high and thought of as unreachable. Once one masters these jumps slides and crawls it makes the player capable of getting stars and secret places that look impossible if one was not able to use these moves.Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:04:05 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=953&iddiary=2085Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Thu, 18 Jan 2007 18:31:02https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=720Now my second time playing I did not skip throught the levels and use cheat codes, I focused on the first level. What I really enjoyed and brought me back to when I used to play this game is the way that the character moves. Not only does he move at a good pace but there are more technological things that really catch my eye. The way the health works is very unique in the sense that as you are shot or dieing the screen turns red and it shows your life diminishing. I thought this was a great idea and helped the game flourish. I also really enjoy the controls in the game. The way the croutch button works and loading and switching guns. They goive you a lot of different controls which really enhance the experience of gameplay.Thu, 18 Jan 2007 18:31:02 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=720&iddiary=1616Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Thu, 18 Jan 2007 18:26:14https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=720Golden eye is perhaps the best first person shooter game ever made for quite a few reasons. For one there are so many levels and each is so very different. A big factor to me is the level design of each level. You cover so many different levels over the game and the varying backgrounds of each level are amazing. First you are in a base, then on a boat, and then on a bridge, I mean the list goes on and on. The designers made the game very unique because of the way they designed so many different characters also. There are about 10-20 different characters and about an additional 50 or so that are unique to each level. So not only did they create main characters but they also have many different characters that show up on each level and some are better than others based on the deeper you get through the game. Another really important factor that makes this game so unique is the number of weapons they created for the game, in the 50s to 100’s and not to mention the fact that I think it may be the first game ever to let you hold two games at once. The cool thing about the game is after you beat it you can go back and have all these guns unlocked, and the number of cheats for this game is uncountable. Thu, 18 Jan 2007 18:26:14 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=720&iddiary=1614Tony Hawk's Project 8 (360) - Thu, 11 Jan 2007 01:17:06https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=466The story of the game isn’t too fascinating especially since it’s more or less the same as all the other Tony Hawk skate games. You have the option to choose from 5 different characters; none of which are pro skaters. The premise of the game is that you start out as an unknown, the #200 skater and you must work your way up until you become a # top 8 skater to be a part of Tony Hawk’s latest skate team: Project 8. It has a few main elements that I really look for when choosing to get into a game or not. These criteria include: very few limitations on where you can and can’t go, and stats increase with increasing progress throughout the game. The game is really open in the sense that the player can move all around the worlds, on top of buildings and into pipes and such. Once you unlock the area the only places you really can’t go are inside all buildings. However there actually are some buildings you can go into. I really enjoy games in which the player has few limitations to where you can go because it makes the game more realistic. Another factor that draws me to this game is how the attributes work. The better you are at the game and the more risks you take allow you to increase your stats quicker. There are three levels of achievement to each objective; each level of each objective becomes increasingly difficult. But to pass each level and unlock the next area it isn’t necessary to pass the hardest level of each objective, however your attributes increase more and make your player better the better you do. So they did a nice job of not making the game too difficult while allowing you to choose how good you want your player to be.Thu, 11 Jan 2007 01:17:06 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=466&iddiary=1169Tony Hawk's Project 8 (360) - Thu, 11 Jan 2007 01:15:20https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=466Another really important thing I have noticed with this game is the amount of tricks there are. There are literally hundreds of different tricks to choose from in this game. There are about 25-30 different grab’s, around 20 different board flips, 20 or 30 different air born tricks, 20 different grinds, about 20 different manual tricks, and endless amounts of combos. There is even a new game element that allows you to do slow motion board tricks in which you can actually create your own unique tricks. The game allows you to even buy more tricks form the skate shop as you get better. Thu, 11 Jan 2007 01:15:20 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=466&iddiary=1168
