One of the best aspects of this game is being able to coordinate your allies attacks with your own into a defined strategy to defeat whatever enemy comes along your way. Sometimes you will need to heal or cure your ally from a specific ailment or else your chances of survival become dim. Other enemies may be healed by fire attacks while ice does double damage. In this kind of scenario your strategy must change or else summoning strong allies (with summon materia) may end up healing the enemy a considerable amount of hitpoints. I had fun using and leveling my lightning materia because I just got bolt 2 which is a second level offensive lightning ability. At this current level the bolt 2 is devastating to the majority of enemies I need to fight such as the mechanical enemies in Midgar.Fri, 09 Feb 2007 17:37:46 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1266&iddiary=2695Final Fantasy VII (PS) - Fri, 09 Feb 2007 17:32:55https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1266This week I had the opportunity to go back in time and play one of my favorite games of all time, Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy VII is one of the most revolutionary games to change the face of RPG, battle systems, and storybook elements many RPGs continue to take advantage of. I played through this game throughly in my teen years so it was a pleasant experience joining again and starting my quest to defeat Sephiroth. Overall, this game was one of the greatest influences in my desire to play RPG games with battle elements such as the turn based combat with magic/attacks. As many who have played it know, the game is based on a materia system in which by equiping different magical items you will be able to use different magical abilities. The best part of this game is being able to feel your character growing in strength as you defeat harder and harder enemies. This is shown as you gain more HP/MP per level as well as gaining stronger materia that gains experience called AP. Overall I would score this game as a 9.5, if anyone has not experienced this I highly suggest you give it a try because it can change your perception on what an RPG can be like.Fri, 09 Feb 2007 17:32:55 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1266&iddiary=2694Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Mon, 29 Jan 2007 18:52:09https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=937After our Goldeneye sesssion this weekend, we played a few more times Sunday and Monday and were fully comfortable to rank ourselves as pretty good (but not quite as good as we were back in the day!) This time we played primarily one of my favorite levels, the one where you are able to go through the bathroom vents (sorry i dont remember the name) with a weapon selection of proximity mines! Proximity mines pretty much revolutionized this game for me, it allowed me to place places in the ceiling to guarantee a death by my friends (with our license to kill mode on). It reminds me of the time where we mastered proximity mines and multiplayer spawning so well that once a player died in a level, either me or my friend would be able to continually sabotage the next spawning points so no matter where you spawned you were always going to die! We weren't able to get this going for very long though. Another interesting bug that we did remember to use was stacking remote mines on a player and hten each successive mine. What this does is create a body armor of mines that grow out of your victim and is pretty funny to see before you detonate them! Be sure they don't run towards you when you press the trigger!Mon, 29 Jan 2007 18:52:09 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=937&iddiary=2062Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Mon, 29 Jan 2007 18:44:59https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=937This weekend I invited the rest of my housemates for an epic battle in one of my favorite games of all time, Golden Eye for the Nintendo 64. This game was one of the highly addicting games that plagued much of my highschool career (in a loving way!) Once I got in for our multiplayer session, the controls came back to me and I started to remember all of the secret hiding spots and best places to find whatever gun i needed. We played most of the levels (except like the cave which sucks btw) to get a feel for ambushing our comrades. Goldeneye allows users to customize the weapon selection availablility on each map including what kind of options you may want (Such as man with the golden gun). My favorite by far is using the pistols with license to kill on becausey ou can get a more accurate adjustment of player skill then blasting with an AK-47 into a corpse worth of 100 bullets before someone is taken down. Overall this experience got me back into the game and I look forward to playing it again!Mon, 29 Jan 2007 18:44:59 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=937&iddiary=2060The Legend of Zelda (NES) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:07:24https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=815After struggling with Zelda last night being unable to uncover any other dungeons, I decided to google some facts to aid me. Fortunately there is a huge gaming community where someone has beaten a game you are looking for and you are able to get the appropriate information to make your game experience all the better. Fortunately, I found a map which helped me find all the secrets I needed. I was able to take on a few dungeons this morning and revel at the clever puzzle designs. I also was able to collect rupees as a form of currency to purchase a new shield. This experience was much better after I got a little assistance in finding the dungeons.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:07:24 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=815&iddiary=1808The Legend of Zelda (NES) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:04:35https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=815I had the opportunity to go back in the time of the game i used to play when I was 4 years old. I played Legend of Zelda, one of the greatest classic games of all time. I don't know a single person who doesn't know this game from first hand experience or atleast seen a reference from a later Zelda game. When I started Zelda, I immediately explored the cool sword effect when Link is at full HP. It is interesting how a minor little attack plus truly sets it as an amazing game of its time. Considering it has been nearly 15+ years since I really played The Legend of Zelda, I began trying to remember the location of the first dungeon. I liked the clever puzzle aspects of each little room because it was this aspect of The Legend of Zelda that influenced almost every kind of RPG/ Action RPG. Further on, I struggled to find any other dungeon due to a poor mapping system design. If there was anything I could improve, it would be the mapping system which would allow travelling through the world slightly better.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:04:35 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=815&iddiary=1807World of Warcraft (PC) - Fri, 12 Jan 2007 00:48:13https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=545Today I chose to play a game that I have been continually progressing through for over three years. World of Warcraft is a MMORPG that excels in not only player vs monster content, but player vs player battles become the focus of the majority of my time spent. I have been playing on and off for the past three years with a Human Warlock that has seen much of the exciting raid dungeons and player vs player battle ground competitions. As I logged into the game, I immediately was engulfed in the social aspect of the game because as soon as I log on, I am connected to all the people I enjoy playing with via a guild. The consensus of our activity is to group up in a group of 10 or 15 and join one of the battlegrounds to defeat the horde in epic battle. The main purpose of killing enemy horde players is to gain more and more honor points that allow you to buy better and better gear. Currently the expansion of this game is not out yet (Released Jan 16th) and new content is scarce, but the overall drive of playing with your friends and destroying horde for the alliance provide this game unending amounts of fun. For some people, World of Warcraft can get old fast. For me, the chance to join up with my closest allys and out strategize the enemy players and monsters is the true goal of this game. I highly encourage anyone who doesn't mind putting in the time to join one of these social networks and conquer the World of Warcraft with your friends!Fri, 12 Jan 2007 00:48:13 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=545&iddiary=1272
