All the different options and codes to choose from and being able to fly and secret passageways makes the game so fun. I like it much better than the Super Nintendo version of Super Mario World where they introduce Yoshi. Even though Yoshi makes the game a lot more the fun, one cannot argue against the updates and the jump they made from Super Mario Bros. 2 to Super Mario Bros. 3.Fri, 23 Feb 2007 18:41:08 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1455&iddiary=3075Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Fri, 23 Feb 2007 18:09:20https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1455I had to go back home and spend about 45 minutes blowing at my Super Mario Bros. 3 cartridge and rubbing it with alcohol before I could get it to work. The gameplay is very similar to the previous two. Although might I add the second one seemed too dark for Super Mario. In any case, the player usually moves Mario around and he grows bigger as he eats mushrooms and throw fire balls from eating plants and so on. However, Super Mario Bros. 3 expands his movements to extraordinary heights. The characters can swim and even fly with a racoon suit. Many other items include a leaf, a hammer, and a Tanooki suit which changes the character into stone.Fri, 23 Feb 2007 18:09:20 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1455&iddiary=3064Madden NFL Football 2007 (PS2) - Thu, 08 Feb 2007 17:41:28https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1167Madden 2007's gameplay is not much different from the previous year. Madden 2006 was the breakthrough year coming out with features such as Hit Stick, Truck Stick, and Precision Passing. There were not very much updates in Madden 2007 except for the modification of the Truck Stick, which became Highlight Stick, being able to block for the primary rusher, and the use of the right analog to kick off and punt. Madden 2007 is basically a match up between two football teams as it's always been. The user who is playing can control any one player he wants at a time and runs plays in order to defeat his opponent.Thu, 08 Feb 2007 17:41:28 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1167&iddiary=2498Super Smash Brothers (N64) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 02:48:53https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=761I've played the GameCube version of Super Smash Brothers before and I didn't like it at all. I like using the Kirby character because he can absorb the energy of other characters. However, the Kirby character in Super Smash Brothers for GameCube is God awful. His moves in GameCube are different as well. He can tackle other characters as a fire ball but he has a tendency to fall off the map very easily that way. Luckily my house mates have Nintendo 64 and they have Super Smash Brothers for that so it was evident that I'd play it to complete this log. I must say, after 2 minutes of playing, compared to the GameCube version, it was like night and day. The controllers for GameCube may be better but the game play on Nintendo 64 is so much better. It isn't nearly as easy to blow people off the map and the moves are so much more fun. Pikachu's lightning is much more entertaining to use in Nintendo 64 as it is in GameCube.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 02:48:53 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=761&iddiary=1705Super Smash Brothers (N64) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 02:06:47https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=761Super Smash Brothers is a fairly simple game. The user picks from a number of characters (12) and the number of players ranges from one to four. Some characters include Kirby, the Super Mario characters, Pokemon, etc. Whatever map is chosen and the four characters just fight each other till the death. It's fun because each character has his/her own special abilities. Another way to kill a character is to knock him/her completely off the map as well. Some characters jump better than others and likewise, some characters have better powers than others. Some difficulties, however, that become very frustrating include the controller. The Nintendo 64 controllers are no XBox 360 controllers because they're not nearly as sturdy. Nintendo 64 controllers often lead to a malfunction in the joystick so I suppose this isn't necessarily the fault of Super Smash Brothers but it is frustrating nonetheless. Another problem that I've faced with the different characters is the ability to jump. Some characters jump higher than tohers, which means some characters can be knocked off teh map a lot easier than others.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 02:06:47 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=761&iddiary=1696Guitar Hero II (PS2) - Thu, 18 Jan 2007 17:53:04https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=551After playing Guitar Hero, well, for an extra week now and after learning more in my Game Design class I now appreciate the gameplay much more. The game is an instrumental Dance Dance Revolution where it's a virtual vertical conveyer belt going down with 5 different colored icons moving down the screen. As each icon passes the bottom line of the screen the player is to hold on the coordinating color while strumming down on the guitar. A very simple concept but much like pong, the game becomes faster and more complex. I appreciate the accuracy of the game and how it emulates and actual guitar with its whammy (sp) bar, prolonged frets, and hammer ons. I feel the hammer ons, however, could be improved greatly. Unless everyone has perfect 20/20 vision, or better than that, it isn't always so obvious in regards to the hammer ons. The hammer ons are distinguished by the white circle inside the icon itself. Most have black rings around the white circle but when the black ring isn't there then that means the player can use a hammer on, which is moving to the next note without having to strum a second time. I feel that if the entire circle within the icon was either all black or all white then this would be a lot easier to use the hammer on feature in Guitar Hero II.Thu, 18 Jan 2007 17:53:04 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=551&iddiary=1610Guitar Hero II (PS2) - Fri, 12 Jan 2007 01:25:53https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=551I started playing the first Guitar Hero game at my friend's house over the summer and I instantly fell in love with it, aside from my eyes being wavy after the end of each song. Embarassingly enough, I went to his house pretty much everyday just to play the game. A lot of us would play during the day, go out at night and at the end of the night, we'd go back to play again. Guys, girls, it didn't matter, we all played. The game is pure genius. It is put together so well and so accurately. Naturally, when the second one came out I bought it the day it came out. I was pleased with all the new songs but the thing my friend and I both agreed on was that the although the second one has much better songs and characters, the first one's actual gameplay was much better. The first Guitar Hero had a much better transition from the Medium level to the Hard level. It slowly allowed the player to smoothly work his or her way into each level. The second Guitar Hero, however, seemed to kind of jump more and take a larger leap from level to level. Overall, however, I loved Guitar Hero II just as much because of the newer songs they used and if I had to give it a rating I'd say 4.5 / 5.Fri, 12 Jan 2007 01:25:53 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=551&iddiary=1282
