I played the single player mode and had to follow the story. I was a bit good at playing Soul Calibur III because I found some keys for the special move. I was getting better and I unloked some of new weapons for each characters. Each characters had different stories. It was amazing because there was a choice which way to go or stop. If I take one way, I had a different opponent with different stories. Also, I unloked different weapons, maps, or a character. It was fun unlocking stuffs. Everytime I unlock the chacater, I tired new characters and found more special moves. I found out that long range characters are really good to fight with because I can fight from a far away and dodge them. The strength character can be good if I can figure a way to hit the opponent. Only bad thing is the speed. If I can hit the opponent, I can give a huge damage to that opponent. However, if I miss with any attack, it is hard to block the opponent's attack because it's just so slow to comeback to natural mode from attack mode. Agi. character is good to attack because it's likely to dodge, block, and attack anytime since the character is really fast. Only bad thing about this type of character is the damage. It takes forever to damage a half of the health of opponent because the damage of this type of character is really low. I prefer a fast and long range character.Fri, 09 Feb 2007 17:01:59 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1193&iddiary=2693Soul Calibur III (PS2) - Fri, 09 Feb 2007 00:19:15https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1193I've been playing Soul Calibur III for about three hours with my friends around my dorm. My roomate and I rent the Playstation 2 from the Science Engineering Library. Soul Calibur III is a fighting game just like an old game called Street FIghter. However, this game is more interesting than other games because this is 3D game. Each Characters had their own characteristics; voice, story, weapons, clothings, accent, and so on. It was very difficult to learn how to make moves in the beginning. None of us knew how to block or make any special move than punching or kicking. After few battles, we got some good special attacks. Finally, we found out that each characters had different moves but the keys were exactly same. The best thing about this game is the ways to block the attacks. For example, I can only block kicks by crouching + blocking. I can only block the regular attack with regular block only. Furthermore, I can dodge to left, right, jump, or steping back. After I block or dodge, I can make any special moves right away and it's about 90% to hit the opponent. Unfortunately, it's not easy to dodge or block.Fri, 09 Feb 2007 00:19:15 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1193&iddiary=2540Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 02:41:52https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=987// I submitted this log to the wrong section (Rainbow Six : Vegas) // But this is actually a gamelog for Katamari Damacy. // The one before the 2nd log of Katamari Damacy. [1st Gamelog of Katamari Damacy] Katamari Damacy looked very rediculus at the first time I saw the game cover. The characters, objects, and graphics looked very ugly. However, the idea of game was very idealistic! Rolling over objects made the ball bigger and that allowed player to roll over more and bigger objects. For example, player starts with small Katamari(ball) and roll over small objects like paper clips, piece of paper and so on. After obtaining number of small objects, the small Katamari gets covered by those small objects and you may roll over and get bigger objects. Starting from rolling over paper clips, papers, and trashes, you get to roll over banana, watermellon, animals, humans, cars, boats, houses, buildings, islands, clouds and so on. It looks easy to play, however, with limited time makes game harder. It was very quick to learn how to play game. There was a story for the game and its each missions. Each characters and objects had different sound effects. By gaining different objects, the outcome was different. Only bad thing that I saw was the camera. When the Katamari gets bigger, the Katamari blocked the view and I couldn't control the camera. If it had some kind of camera controller, it could've been better but it could be worse. I'm done with most of missions. I need to finish the one that I need to make a moon out of Katamari.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 02:41:52 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=987&iddiary=2170Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 02:35:53https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=987I finished playing Katamari Damacy. It took me only one trial but I played more than once per each missions. I think making moon with Katamari was the best mission. Making 300m wasn't hard at all. Everytime the Katamari got bigger, rate of circumference of Katamari increased. The thing that I liked about this game was the huge number of different objects and the size of GameWorld. Everytime my Katamari gets bigger, I was able to move to somwhere else. For example, I was rolling the Katamari in a small park. After my Katamari got big enough to roll over the enterance of the Katamari, I was able to move out to the place near lake. Fianlly, I was able to move around the town, city, ocean, islands, and more. I almost had everything. I rolled over clouds, islands, cities, giant squids, and the rainbow. Nothing made sence but I got into the game. I wish I can try the next version of Katamari Damacy; which is We Love Katamari.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 02:35:53 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=987&iddiary=2169Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas (PC) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 00:22:38https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=559// I wrote the Gamelog on the wrong section. // This is actually a Gamelog for Katamari Damacy. the FIRST ONE.. I was having some difficulties on beating the boss. Generally, the game was very easy. I usually used the fire type Kirby because it was easy for me to skip the level and also it was quicker. I found some bugs in the game while i was playing. I didn't even pressed a button to swallow, but somehow I swallowed the enemy that I was holding in. It was very wierd. I also tried to skip the level quicker by flying over everything. However, I somehow got caught by something in the air and fell. Very strange. Game was fun. Very well organized. Easy to control. Looks very clean and the characters looks funny as well. I think the game is made for a little kid. But yet the game is very fun when there's nothing to do.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 21:28:25 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=781&iddiary=1915Kirby's Adventure (NES) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:59:51https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=781Before playing Kirby's Adventure, I played some other version of Kirby. I tried playing the really old version (I don't know the title of it) and it was only black and white view. I also played 3D version. Finally, I played one with gameboy advance emulator. Only thing I like about the Kirby is that the game is very simple and the character's flexibility. When I was playing the Kirby's Adventure with the emulator, I was very confused in the beginning because the keys were very wierd. For the first time I'm playing the Kirby's Adventure, I learned how to play the game very quickly. I think that is because all the Kirby games are similar and simple. Like other Kirby games, Kirby was able to suck up things and turn to some other colors of Kirby that can use different attacks. I think this game is for a little kids because games are way too easy. You can easily skip the map by flying all the time with Kirby. You also can suck up most of the things and I believe that Kirby has way too much power (Sucking up, flying, throw what the Kirby sucked up, and use the enemy's power). For the old game, Kirby is very fun and looks nice with the small little characters. However, it's not challenging.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:59:51 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=781&iddiary=1736Battlefield 1942 (PC) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:38:12https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=564I've playing Battlefield 1942 today for about an hour. I played on online with other people this time. I was a noob so I was dying without actually killing anybody. I tried to ride on the aircraft but other people took the aircraft before me. I started with a medic. Medic was an interesting unit because it uses machinegun and also can heal himself and others. I had a chance to shoot the enemies and also had a chance to have more health than others since I was able to heal myself. I was weak against snipers and crafts. I was getting either ranover or bombed by tanks and aircrafts. I was dying out of nowhere and I figured that I got sniped from far away. The game is fine however people didn't really work together. Since there was none of good strategies between players, games weren't very fun or exciting. Only bad thing about today's game experience was that I wasn't good at this game. I was sponed and died right away most of the time. Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:38:12 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=564&iddiary=1732Battlefield 1942 (PC) - Fri, 12 Jan 2007 03:02:04https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=564Battlefiled 1942 is different than any other shooter games becuase you can control the airplane, warships, tanks, and more. It teaches the basic information about the battlefiled in 1942 and also lets players to have an idea the looks of the filed. Each country units speak their own language, own uniform, own weapons, and own vehicles. However, this game gets boring with missions that have same goals and limited weapons. This game only gets better with multiplayer game. In addition, multiplayer game wouldn't be any fun with small number of player because the battlefiled is not small and it would be more like who shoots first than having better strategies. I like this game because it lets you know about the war in 1942 and its look of battlefield. It tought me some of backgound of the war and also tought me that it's possible to win a war with 10 times smaller arimes as long as you have a great strategies. When I played the Battlefiled 1942, game was extremely easy. Bots were very dumb and their aim get ridiculiously better by increasing the difficulties of bots. It gets boring after winning a few missions because the goal of each mission was taking flags and eliminating opponents. Taking more flags makes the process of eliminating opponents faster and also lets the player's country to have more crafts. I enjoyed flying with aircrafts and running over opponent's soldiers with tanks. I prefer this game to multiplayer gamers because it's really fun to play and communicate eachother to have their own strategies.(It's much better to see human brain playing than a computer playing because computer does the same thing over and over). Personally, it is very funny to see other players crashing with their aircrafts by an accident.Fri, 12 Jan 2007 03:02:04 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=564&iddiary=1320Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas (PC) - Fri, 12 Jan 2007 02:36:53https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=559I've been playing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas for about a week and saw the ending. It wasn't very difficult even though I died many times while I was playing it. Graphic effects and sound effects got me into the game with the story. Controls were very simple. Each missions had different goals that make me not to get bored of killing same guys. However, it required such a high CPU and mine only ran normally with the lowest setting. The story starts from getting rid of terrors. Instead of capturing a boss character Arena, the main character looses his two teamates. While looking for them to save them, main character is sent to Vegas for different missions with new two teamates. They find out that the troubles in Vegas was caused by Arena and goes on with the mission to save his old teamates and arrest Arena. The main character saves one of his old teamates but also looses one. After killing Arena, he finds out that the old teamate who he just rescued was working with Arena. Game ends from there. With simple controls, it is amazing that the player can do so many things. You can control your teamates. For example, you can command them to hold, prepare to enter a room (flashbang, granade, explosive, or just enter), use a rope for fastrope, etc. You also can take cover by the wall, by the car, or any objects that you can be covered. Using items makes the game more realistic and easy. You can use heat detacting goggle, night vision goggle, ropes, and many different weapons. Each missions had different goals. Either rescuing hostages, rescuing teamates, hacking computers, setting up explosives, stopping explosives, clearing the area, killing a targeted character, etc. I didn't like the ending that said "to be continued." I was getting into the game and game ended without any difficulties. I would only recommand to those of players who have a Desktop computer with decent CPU and Graphic Card or a decent labtop.Fri, 12 Jan 2007 02:36:53 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=559&iddiary=1312
