I tried to stay more engaged with the level, but I just found it a little dull. I felt like it lacked a little bit of the "coolness" factor that Bond has, and was basically a schmup.Fri, 23 Feb 2007 14:47:28 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1429&iddiary=3018James Bond Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Fri, 23 Feb 2007 14:44:06https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1429The first time I played this game, I was entertained by it. I liked Bond's character, and I felt like it was true enough to the films to be satisfying. It was fun, but a little repetitive. It seems like it is not quite engaging enough in that the basis of the game is shooting. I guess if you are into that kind of thing... But I found it a little dull. Also, there wasnt much motivation for getting to the next level, as all that it meant was more weapons--how exciting.Fri, 23 Feb 2007 14:44:06 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1429&iddiary=3015Super Mario 64 (N64) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 12:43:45https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1038The second time I played this game, I felt like it was still a lot of fun. I found one of the levels particularly difficult and enjoyed the fact that there were many ways to get past the level. For example, I could just try to collect 100 coins. I felt like the variety of the game and of the levels allowed it to be fun even while playing for long periods of time. One thing that was little frustrating was that when I got to a level where I had to swim through the water, I found the controls much more difficult to use. It was hard to get Mario to go in the direction I wanted him to and just controlling him was very tedious. This was very frustrating. But, besides that level, I found the game very user-friendly and enjoyable.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 12:43:45 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1038&iddiary=2224Super Mario 64 (N64) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 12:39:13https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1038The first time I played this game, I found the controls very easy to use and adjust to. This was my second time playing the game, and I found it much more natural than the last game I played, Katamari Damacy, because the controls were much easier. I really enjoyed the graphics and I felt like the game was overall, very creative. I liked how I was able to talk to certain characters to learn more, and I liked that there were many little hidden things that I could find if I put the effort in. I thought that the game was generally very well thought out and a lot of fun to play. I really enjoyed the variety of the different levels. I enjoyed being able to go to one place and slide down a huge slide, and then go to another place and be running around on ice, and then yet another place be swimming. This was a lot of fun.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 12:39:13 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1038&iddiary=2221Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:04:22https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=814The second session I had playing this game, I found that it was still a lot of fun, but I became a little frustrated with the difficulty I had in stearing the Katamari, and the difficulty I had with the controls. I still enjoyed the use of colors and graphics. I thought that the sprites used were fun, and I noticed that the music selected for each level was fun and added to the feeling of the game and the general atmosphere of the level. I found that this game, while orignally absorbing, can get a little 'old' after a while as the general premise never changes, you are still rolling a giant ball around trying to collect things.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 15:04:22 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=814&iddiary=1805Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 14:59:58https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=814The first session of this game was also my first time playing a game on the Playstation 2 platform. I found the controls a little bit awkward and difficult to adjust to. That was probably the most frustrating part of the gameplay experience. Other than that, the game was a lot of fun. The graphics were amazing and I really enjoyed the use of color. The basic storyline of the game is that the king of the cosmos, your father, has accidentally destroyed all of the stars in the universe and you have to collect as much stuff as you can on Earth to create new stars and constellations--a little far fetched, but still fun. Generally, I found the game to be fun and absorbing.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 14:59:58 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=814&iddiary=1801Pizza Panic (PC) - Thu, 18 Jan 2007 17:00:22https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=614The second time playing Pizza panic, and after seeing some of the games demonstrated in class, I noticed that this game is incredibly simple. The graphics and abilities are very limited compared to some of the RPG demos that we have seen in class. None the less, this game is definately entertaining. Although simple, with a simple story-line and instructions to the user, it is just plain fun to ride around on a skateboard and deliver pizzas. I could see how somebody who played a lot of videogames, especially the longer epic-type RPG games, or 3D graphic games would quickly become bored with this, but as someone who has very limited experience with videogames, I found it to be quite entertaining. One of the logs I read said that they felt that videogames need to be more exciting for older people because older people get bored more easily, whereas kids get easily excited. I dont think this is the case, perhaps instead they have allowed their expectations to rise with all of these complex games available now. Anyway, the game has very limited characters. Basically you, the pizza boy, your Italian boss you yells "good job" with a thick Italian accent, and the people you deliver the pizzas to, who say "Thanks dude" if anything at all. So there is not much dialogue or character interaction. Most of the actions of the game just involve you maneuvering your skateboard around various obstacles and trying to obtain coins and glittery objects in the air. Overall, a simple but fun experience.Thu, 18 Jan 2007 17:00:22 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=614&iddiary=1604Pizza Panic (PC) - Fri, 12 Jan 2007 03:14:35https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=570I found this game on a list of games for macs. It was very simple, but lots of fun. Basically you ride around on your skateboard and deliver pizzas to people. Since I dont have much experience with video games, I enjoyed the ease of learning this game. I also enjoyed the graphics and sounds. Although it was super simple, there were a lot of little things that made it a lot of fun, like finding the all-important chili pepper on each level.Fri, 12 Jan 2007 03:14:35 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=570&iddiary=1329
