Captain Cappin's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=305Super Smash Brothers (N64) - Tue, 27 Feb 2007 23:36:04https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1502Super Smash Brls is very intense when played with friends. I think they call it Super Smash because of all the button smashing that takes place. I have found that many of the moves are over used by each character. What makes it great is how each character has such unique moves. For example Pikachu has a lightning bolt that can be shot down from the sky while moving. Donkey Kong will simply bang on the ground and cause a earthquake that causes damage. Most characters have some form of air attack however there are boxes that contain such weapons as swords and guns. This makes it so that there is a frantic dash for such items. What I dont like is when there is a four player game going on and one of the player tries to avoid fighting so he saves his life while other players are hurting each other. I think it is a cheap strategy.Tue, 27 Feb 2007 23:36:04 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1502&iddiary=3166Super Smash Brothers (N64) - Mon, 26 Feb 2007 19:56:19https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1502Super Smash Brother is a classic game for the Nintendo 64. I find it entertaing because there is an array of different characters each with different moves and powers. The character selected depends on the style preference of the player. There are quicker smaller players such a pikachu and slower more powerful players such as donkey kong. I have found the game makers have balanced out both type of characters very well. There is a big advantage for the characters that seem to float better then others. When a character is almost knocked off the map these characters seem to be able to float back to the land. Donkey Kong seems very heavy and falls straight down almost.Mon, 26 Feb 2007 19:56:19 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1502&iddiary=3163James Bond Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Fri, 02 Feb 2007 01:36:21https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1128Golden Eye is a very fun game. I find that the array of weapons that James Bond is given really makes the game worthwhile. I really enjoy mowing down countless bad guys with everything for C4 explosives to an AR15. Many of the levels have a stealth element to the game which also adds a cool factor. Silence pistols allow the player to kill the enemy before he sets off the alarm. If the enemy is not killed then the alarm will go off and the player will have to fight even more enemies. The level designs give different challenges so that the player must use different gadgets for different situations.Fri, 02 Feb 2007 01:36:21 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1128&iddiary=2426Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - Sat, 20 Jan 2007 02:13:16https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=868After doing more missions i have come to realize that the combat system is very poor. Most of the guns have an automatic aiming system which requires no skill. This makes the game not as intense. It is also very unrealistic. If a control system was set up so that the player could seek cover and shoot out from behind a cover then it would be more more satisfying then running in zig zags locking onto target and pulling the trigger. Depending on where you aim and hit your target would cause different amounts of damage. I think the player would have a lot more fun. Also this kind of game could be very open. Instead the story is very linear. It would be cool if the player could choose sides such as with a gang. This would allow the player even more freedom in San AndreasSat, 20 Jan 2007 02:13:16 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=868&iddiary=1924Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - Sat, 20 Jan 2007 01:30:17https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=868Today I have been playing GTA San Andreas. I am in the middle of the missions and have found them to be quite entertaining. I enjoy traveling to the different cities on the vast highways. This game gives you a tremendous amount of freedom and things to do. My character is pretty damn gangster. I have murdered, sold drugs, and committed countless other crimes. I think this game is so popular because it allows people to do thing they would not do in the real world. It also has great designs for the cities. Los Santos resembles Los Angeles while San Fierro resembles San Francisco. They have famous places such as the Haight district and the Golden Gate Bridge. Cruzing around San Andreas has been a blast.Sat, 20 Jan 2007 01:30:17 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=868&iddiary=1922NBA 2K7 (XBX) - Tue, 16 Jan 2007 23:15:54https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=575After starting my own season as the Golden State Warriors i Found this type of gameplay rather boring. The computer plays at a much slower pace then a real person. This causes the game to be slowed down and low scoring. It also takes away the main attraction of the game which I found to be competing against my friends. It was also very easy to aquire a very dominant team with a few simply trades. This makes the game very easy even after i adjusted the difficulty. Frankly I found no satisfaction while playin the computer. It simply got repetitive and boring.Tue, 16 Jan 2007 23:15:54 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=575&iddiary=1520NBA 2K7 (XBX) - Fri, 12 Jan 2007 03:57:19https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=575Today I spent a couple hours playing a simulation of NBA basketball with friends. I would recommend this game only to basketball fans. It can become quite intense going up against your friends. The game has somewhat of a arcade feel to it. It is very fast paced in many ways. We seemed to score many points in 3 minute quarters. Sometimes it is unrealistic in that it is too easy to get to the rim and dunk the ball. Passing can also be a pain because it won't always pass it to the person you want. I did enjoy the jump shot system because the player must hold the "shot stick" back until the peak of the jump in order to increase the accuracy. I found that the game makers took the time to tweak certain player moves to fit that of the real NBA player. Also each time has a player with a star icon next to him. This player really dominates in the last minutes of games in what is called the "clutch factor". This cause very competitive shootouts between star players. All and all i found this game to be very satisfying as a video game and basketball fan.Fri, 12 Jan 2007 03:57:19 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=575&iddiary=1339
