Caligo's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=353Soul Caliber III (PS2) - Thu, 01 Feb 2007 14:05:28https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1114Well, I went back and tried the "RTS" mode and was very disappointed with the first two levels. In the "Chronicles of the Swords" mode, you control up to 5 units that can engage enemy's in battle, which then switches over to the standard fighting ring mode. It is really easy to beat because your units reincarnate really quickly. Its a really good fighting game, I just am unable to play fighting games because i get frustrated so easily. I will continue to struggle onwards and maybe, someday, I will be able to win consistently.Thu, 01 Feb 2007 14:05:28 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1114&iddiary=2408Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 21:42:46https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=894Well, I beat the game. I completed the moon to over 690 meters large, and made the north star. I was almost tempted to be done with the game, but it has captivated me, I'm going to leave this open and from time to time pick the game back up and try to find presents and cousins and all the items. The ending wasn't all that special, and the levels weren't very difficult (I only failed one once), but the ridiculous story line is well ridiculous.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 21:42:46 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=894&iddiary=2400Soul Caliber III (PS2) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 21:37:21https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1114I hate fighting games! This game has awesome graphics and fighting stuff, its just that I can't do any of the special moves... I should just stick to strategy games. I beat a couple of the story mode for the individual characters. But each one took about an hour to beat. It made me want to give up video games forever. well not really... There seems to be some ridiculous story behind all of it, something about an evil sword "Soul Edge" and a good sword "Soul Caliber" there are lots of unlockable characters and weapons and hours of game play to unlock it all. I will try to play this again later maybe give it a second chance.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 21:37:21 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1114&iddiary=2398Katamari Damacy (PS2) - Sat, 27 Jan 2007 21:01:35https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=894Well, I picked up the game again yesterday and made a few new constellations and a new star. I also failed a mission for the first time, the king was very angry at me and the game got all dark and there were rain clouds, and then he told me I had to take a "Tepid Bath!!!" the very thought of a tepid bath made me afraid to play the level again, but I managed and beat it my second time through.Sat, 27 Jan 2007 21:01:35 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=894&iddiary=2031Prince of Persia: The Sand of Time (PS2) - Wed, 24 Jan 2007 04:03:27https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=883Prince of Persia - Sand of Time (Final Entry) Well, I beat the game. The ending was amazing but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. Suffice it to say the ending was worth the 7 and a half hours I put into beating the game, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys puzzles or gymnastics. There was only one puzzle that I couldn't really figured out and I only got past it by brute force logic (a.k.a. I tried every possible door). Also the final boss was extremely weak, and after spending so much time getting to him, I felt a little cheated when I beat him without using anything but my sword. (This entry has been edited1 time. The lack of any auto save after levels and before quiting is something I find myself wishing was in more games. But now that I have come across such a feature, it is difficult to break old habits of expecting it to ask if I want to save before quiting. When I played this game for the first time, I forgot to save after completing the first 4 stars. So I had to restart from the second star. This is and the fact that it was 3 in the morning and my head was starting to hurt from lack of sleep are the main reasons I got bored when playing the fourth star for the second time. Also the game is just too overpowering to the senses. So much COLOR!! My second session was a lot more interesting. What I previously thought were 'bonus' levels, turned out to be part of the main game play. These levels consisted of the creation of a constellation by rolling up specific objects such as crabs for cancer. I have not yet failed a level, but I am hoping the difficulty will increase at some point. I have finally figured out the controls although I still have some difficulty with the charge. I also managed to complete a level to the king's satisfaction, and somehow created a comet. I'm not entirely sure how it happened, if anyone has any insight I would appreciate it. But for now I plan to finish Prince of Persia. (This entry has been edited1 time. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This game is a Japanese game that doesn't really make any sense. The King of the Cosmos got piss drunk and destroyed all the stars. As his son it is your duty to make new stars by rolling the object around that picks up items smaller than it. For each star, the king transports you to a house on Earth, where you roll around picking up tacks and coins, then and candy, and then cards, and then forks, then cats and dogs, until in some levels you can even pick up humans. After the fourth star I got bored of the colorful graphics and repetitive songs. I'm not particularly fond of the controls, but I find the King's random tirades hilarious.Wed, 24 Jan 2007 00:21:22 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=894&iddiary=1977Prince of Persia: The Sand of Time (PS2) - Wed, 24 Jan 2007 00:01:33https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=883Prince of Persia - Sands of Time (Second Entry) As the game progresses, the puzzles become slightly more difficult, and the enemies are starting to get annoying. Before any enemy could be easily dispatched by jumping up and over it, and attacking from behind in the air, but now the creatures are larger and keep knocking me down when I attempt this stunt. But you unlock a new power that freezes every enemy in the room and you speed around slashing them to bits. The game is almost over and I must say while the story is keeping up a good pace, the game play is lacking. Nothing has changed from the first fight. Although I got a new sword that breaks through weak walls, I don't think I kill enemies any faster. Well I am about 85% through the game, (it tells you in the save/load data) so it makes sense that I am getting impatient with the lack of change. I think I'm going to try to finish it tonight.Wed, 24 Jan 2007 00:01:33 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=883&iddiary=1974Prince of Persia: The Sand of Time (PS2) - Tue, 23 Jan 2007 01:00:08https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=883Prince of Persia - Sands of Time (First entry) I started this game late last night, and I have already played for over 5 hours. Although the play is very linear, I enjoy the fighting style and 4 dimensional play. There is always only one path to take which can sometimes be very boring, but is also challenging when you find yourself turned around and it takes 5 minutes to find the next step in your path. The introduction was very well done and the graphics are amazing. The first task in the game is to find the dagger of time, well 'find' isn't exactly the best word since you can only go along one path. But it is still a nice introduction to the basics of the game play: Running along walls, doing amazing acrobatic stunts, and healing yourself after battles with water from fountains. Once you have the dagger, you have the ability to rewind time. This makes for very addicting "sessions," since each time you should have died you can come back, and you can refill the dagger by stabbing slain enemies. I am already trying to figure out how I can get my hands on the sequel.Tue, 23 Jan 2007 01:00:08 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=883&iddiary=1951
