For instance, in one level you are back in time with dino's and volcanoes and the background has heat waves and uses a lot of colors like red, yellow and orange, it honestly makes me feel like it is really hot in the room while I'm playing it. Another cool background is the New York background, where you can see all the buildings and it looks far away, I guess it just kind of shows how when making a game, sometimes things that are not even party of the game play like the background are still very important.Tue, 27 Feb 2007 14:25:12 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1503&iddiary=3165Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time (SNES) - Tue, 27 Feb 2007 14:21:22https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1503This game is one of my favorite platform games ever. I remember playing this game when I was a lot younger with my friends during sleep-overs and we would always have a blast playing it. I like that its a platform game, but at the same time you can move deeper into the screen, making it different than say a Super Mario type game for the Super Nintendo. I also found it interesting that in the first part when you fight Shreder, it changes from a regular platform style to a different style where you are fighting while looking at the screen, it adds a more interesting style of fighting than when you fight all the other bosses.Tue, 27 Feb 2007 14:21:22 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1503&iddiary=3164Galaga (Arcade) - Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:21:08https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1320After playing this game more and more, I have realized that there are certain paths that you can follow in order for the game to be faster while at the same time still getting all the dots and a lot of points. I like how as you gain more levels, the ghosts become harder and harder and more aggressive, making the game not so repetitive. I dont know what else i can say about this game, other than that i never thought i could have this much fun playing a 1D game.Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:21:08 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1320&iddiary=2823Galaga (Arcade) - Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:18:59https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1320Pac Man is always a crowd favorite, and after taking this computer games class I have come to realize how interesting and inovative it was for its time. I downloaded the game so I can play it on my computer instead of finding an arcade to play it in, and the game is really fun once you get going. I really never played the game very much before a couple days ago, but I am glad I have started. I like games that require the getting of points, the whole point of the game is to get the high score, which gives immediate sadisfaction (or not) if you beat your score, which makes the game addicting.Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:18:59 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1320&iddiary=2822NBA 2K7 (PS2) - Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:15:22https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1319After playing for a couple more weeks, I have come to like NBA2k7 better because of the more realistic game play. Although the camera angles are different from EA Basketball, I am now used to them and it is easier to judge where the ball is and how to play. Another aspect of the game that I like is the free throw shooting. Instead of pressing a botton, you have to use the right joystick and time everything perfect, making it harder and therefor more like real basketball. On the other hand, the fouls are turned up really high when you first start playing, but that can be changed by going into the menu and turning them down, after that is turned down, the game becomes more smooth and less of a free throw competition and more of a basketball game.Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:15:22 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1319&iddiary=2821NBA 2K7 (PS2) - Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:12:00https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1319NBA 2k7 is a game that I had normally disliked because of a few camera issues. It is not like the EA basketball games and that was the format for the game that I am used to, and the shooting and controls are different also. This game is full of new and realistic game play ideas such as the types of jukes as well as the slam dunks. It was hard to get used to at first, but after playing for awhile, I got the hang of it and started playing my housemates. The camera angles are still not the best because when the ball is mid air, its hard to tell where it is going to land because the depth is hard to judge, unlike the EA basketball game where you can see where the ball is going to go because of the different "end to end" camera angle. However I will continue playing this game because the rosters are more up to date and the new players are on it.Tue, 13 Feb 2007 21:12:00 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1319&iddiary=2820Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - Tue, 06 Feb 2007 02:26:59https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1042played again today, still played because i was bored and didnt have anyone around to play NBA2k7 with. i remembered that you can hire hookers in GTA, so funny, what other video games can you do that in? no wonder parents do not want their kids playing this game, but whatever, its still a lot of fun when there is nothing else to do or when it is impossible to study. i find myself playing the game with at least some respect for realistic game play, until i jack a motorcycle from some one and jump it off cliffs and run it off into the ocean, i do that a lot after a half hour of playing. that and trying to get the Army to bring in tanks to take me out, what a rush!!Tue, 06 Feb 2007 02:26:59 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1042&iddiary=2449Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 13:13:09https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1042GTA San Andreas is one of my favorite games that I have ever played for a couple reasons. The first reason is that sometimes when I am just really bored or sick or hungover, GTA is a good game to play because you don't always have to be doing a mission or trying to gain anything at all, its fun to just drive around, get into fights with cops, and just be an overall jerk in a California like setting. You can do things in that game that you would never do in real life, and its ok because its not real. However, another reason why I like the game is because of the exact opposite. When you do have time or drive to sit down and play the game it is really fun trying to gain missions and respect and other objectives. You can really see the progress you've made after two hours of play time. Its a classic game on a fun console. I love the radio stations you can choose from when you are in a car, they are funny and well thought out. The racial stereotypes are funny, while not PC, I still think its very funny and it pokes fun at all of them. Its just an overall entertaining game that should not be taken seriously.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 13:13:09 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1042&iddiary=2233Wii Sports (Wii) - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:46:17https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=887To go with what I said before, I think that wii golf after playing more and more is actually like regular golf, you just have to get better at playing, just like in real life. In real golf, when you first start out playing your going to have a horrible swing and will not hit the ball long and straight everytime, if ever. Wii golf is kind of the same, when you first start out playing, your not going to be the best, but with practice and learning the game, you can become a better player. The characters still are horrible though...Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:46:17 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=887&iddiary=2093Mario Kart (Wii) - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:44:09https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=957While I was playing Mario Kart I noticed that the game is less about racing and more about cool and interesting ways of "attacking" the other players. You do not have to be the best racer in order to win the race, while great race skills help, the sense of weapons and usage also help to win the game. The game is full of ways for the first place racer to fall behind, allowing for new or poor players who are behind to get ahead.Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:44:09 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=957&iddiary=2092
