It’s really neat how I can play god in this unrealistic world that I have created. I was really fascinated by how my future would be like if I did choose a certain job career or if I married a certain character. I have always wondered what my kids would look like in the future. Even though the character is unrealistic but it’s the closest thing a person can play to see a realistic view of the future. I have accomplished a few goals in this game, I have gotten a decent job and got promoted and my house and salaries have greatly improved. The good thing about the Sims 2 on PC is that I can get more decorations for the house or anything in general online. This can create a more realistic house I would like in the future. Even though the game story is pretty boring because there really isn’t much change to the story line unless the player tries to do something really outrageous. DESIGN The kind of challenge this game created would be the relationship points to earn from friends and how the points would decreased if the character does not keep in contact. The game’s challenge is what makes the game realistic due to getting the job and the educations. Also keeping the sim character happy when the player does what the character wants in their aspiration box. The aspiration is a important design in the game because not only does the player have to fulfill the aspiration but keep up with it. The aspiration changes very often. The more points the player gets from the aspiration, the player can buy rewards that helps the sims character live longer etc. The game also have a monthly bill which means, not only does the character need to have enough money to buy the nice things, but also enough money to pay for the bill and not get into debt. There aren’t many difficult levels in this game. The levels in this game are probably the process of the character’s life. The promotion and balance of family time and social time neatly. I was happy with the game reward because it’s nice to get bonus and extra money. This just makes me want to buy nicer or better things for my character. This makes me wanting to get more promotions and become a millionaire if I can. I wouldn’t change anything about this game because I think it’s great the way it is now. I just can’t wait till the Sims 3 comes out. I wonder how much more realistic can the game creator make The Sims. The game has many different features to chose from to make a character such as face shape, body size, skin color, etc to make a character and build a story line for the character. The main goal of the game is to find a good job, a loving partner, and having many wonderful offspring as a player would wish and live a nice life and die. GAMEPLAY As I started to play the Sims 2 I was pretty impressed by how much improvement it had from the original Sims. It’s a very addictive game because of the story line I can make with items given. It was pretty neat how I can make a character look so much like me and create another character to be my perfect husband to see how it would look if I ever have child with someone that look like the character I have made. I felt very pull into the fantasy world of the Sims 2, it’s like a realistic fantasy that is all my own. There was no game story unless, the player decides to make one up but since the character in the game can grow old and actually have the genetics pass down. There is no ending to the game unless the player decides to play with another character or make another story line. The characters in the Sims 2 are really realistic to actual people. The character in the game can represent anyone the player chose it to represent. There were no social interactions in the game with other players because it was a one player game but the character have their own social interactions with friends, family, etc. The way the character would act toward another character is pretty interesting because it was the player choice to decide every move of the character. At first I didn’t like to play tennis by myself but after competing with my other two friends with great shouts and jokes it end up being really fun. Even though I lost some of the game and won a little but the more people to play the game the more fun. There was still no story to be found for the game. The game was very interesting when I was playing with two other people because of their input on the game and their reaction to certain situation during the game. One of my friend, who was a first time player for the game though it was effortless to learn the controls because it was mostly due to movement and knowing when to swing. It felt like it was a real tennis game we were playing expects it was in door and the good thing is we don’t have to run for the ball or get hit by it. DESIGN Wii sport kept the player interested by showing that when the game is play in a group it helps get the mood up and the excitement or the anger of each player during a lost or a win. In the Wii game system, you can make your own character to look just like you. This is a very good design because it’ll seem like you are actually in the game not just using the controller to swing. There were no rewards in the Wii sport but just gain more points and put the player above other players. The game required a lot of interaction when the player is playing the game with other player because in tennis if there are more than two players, one of the team would have to communicate to see who would hit the ball. It would be just like real tennis when playing in doubles, one person in front and the other one in back. There wasn’t much challenge in this game besides knowing when to swing the controller to be able to hit the ball or how hard you should hit the ball. (This entry has been edited1 time. It is where the player swings the controller in different direction to copy the actions performed in real life sports and being able to successfully beat another player. Game Play I started off playing tennis on the Wii which I knew after a few trys I just wasn’t very good at this sport and made me feel kind of like a loser. So therefore I decide to play boxing, which to my surprise I was really good at it. There really is no story to Wii sports since it’s a game just to score points. The boxing game was very interesting to me because I feel like I’m working out and having fun at the same time. After playing boxing my arm got pretty tired from all the swinging. This time I’m playing the game by myself In the next hour I will try to play the game with another person to see how it well affects my mood and the way I feel about the game. The game itself was interesting enough to keep myself entertain but I bet with another person, I could probably have more fun. I’m also planning on trying the different sports like golf and bowling with another person because it seems like a group sport. The flow of the game was there since, there isn’t much obstacles to stop the flow of the game. I think boxing is a great sport on the Wii to help me get in shape ^_^Wed, 20 Feb 2008 21:53:51 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2760&iddiary=5172virtual villagers (PC) - Fri, 08 Feb 2008 21:19:27https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2439Game Session 2 GAMEPLAY After playing Virtual villagers for another hour or so, there was not much change expect for new collectible items. The occasional events that pop up, that could help the food resource of my game. At times I would run out of food to fast and most of my villager would be starving but I’m glad I did not make so many babies in the beginning. (Babies eat as much as adults) This time, the game did not interest me so much as I was playing in the beginning. There was no dramatic change to the game during this hour of game play. The only thing that really irritates me is trying to have enough patience for this game. >_< I hope as the game longer I would be able to solve most of the puzzle more faster. Game Design The game could have made getting the tech points a bit faster so the speed of the game wouldn’t have been so slow or getting to the next level required less tech points. Even though you could speed up the game time up to 2x the speed then normal, the game is still consider pretty slow motion. The island of the game was pretty small, I think it would have been better if there were more things to explore like another small island which the villagers have to go through a cave to get to. Every time I got something new in the game, I was very excited to get to the next reward but it was difficult due to the slow motion of the game. There are some things I would change about the game for instance having more random events pop up. Its fine playing god for so long until you runs out of resources to play. Most of the game time was to increase tech points, food, population and the collectible items. The only challenges the game was the shortage of food and getting enough tech points to help the villagers improve their society.Fri, 08 Feb 2008 21:19:27 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2439&iddiary=4662virtual villagers (PC) - Fri, 08 Feb 2008 19:46:07https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2439SUMMARY In virtual villagers you start off with two adults, one teenager and a few kids. The adult you put to work to provide food, shelter etc and the kids can only explore the island and pick up collectable items which help you get tech points. The object of the game is to raise a villager of people and increase the population and still be able to maintain the food resources and all the while help the people to improve the next level of farming, technology, medicine, exploration, culture or science. It’s mostly like playing god ^_^ Game Play While I was playing virtual villagers I was pretty content with how everything went expect for the slow pace in order to get to the next level of the game. It’s very frustrating having to wait for the people to collect enough tech point, so I can purchase the next level in farming, culture, science, etc. Every new level of technology gives new puzzle to solve in the game. The characters in this game isn’t the best or the worst, it just seem like little people running around the island. The game story wasn’t all that interesting expects the times when there would be a window pop up, asking you what you should do when a villager found something and if you pick the wrong answer it would put your whole village in danger. The game was fun to play, only when you solve a puzzle or having to deal with realistic problems like shortage of food and finding another way to deal with the problem. The game kept me interested in the fact that, I wanted to know what happens next every time I solve a puzzle. It gets addictive when you know, you have full control of what each villager do. The flow of this game wasn’t constant at all times because like I said before the game move at a slow pace so in order to really enjoy this game you got to have enough patience. This game test your patience to the fullest^_^Fri, 08 Feb 2008 19:46:07 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2439&iddiary=4632Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii) - Sat, 26 Jan 2008 01:05:05https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2136Game Play Session 2 Raving Rabbids seemed to utilize every possible fun aspect of the wii remote, well delivering a rich gaming experience. I found myself craving for more raving after my first session. Time few by as I panicked to run a bomb from one area to another via swinging my arms like a mad person; or when I was required to pump carrot juice with one hand well shooting it at Rabbids with my other. The story mode was simple, to say the least. Basically the game is made up of mini games combined with a wacky and loosely constructed storyline. Raving Rabbids story mode is broken down into sections, for every four mini games I’d complete, I’d unlock a first person shooter mini game. After completing the FPS, I was given another section to complete. This may all sound very tedious but the truth was quite opposite; I was having non-stop fun! As I progressed in story mode I was met with even weirder and fantastically cleaver mini games. The pace of Raving Rabbids never slowed down, keeping me interested throughout the time I played Design Amazing character development!!! The character design was perfect, the setting could have used some work but over all it fit. Graphic wise the game lacked; well Raving Rabbids supplied a wonderful gaming experience, little was pleasing to the eyes. The rail based FPS was designed very well, giving a sense of urgency to a particularly non-urgent situation. The Cartoon like atmosphere added to the over the top character personalities. The best design in this game is the characters themselves! The rabbids came in all different shapes and sizes, from big fat ones to little dumb ones… They’re all basically dumb… you get the point. As I played the game I felt extremely happy! I was so intrigued by the little bunnies. From now on they are forever my favorite video game personalities. I have almost completed the entire game and I’m still craving for more. I can hardly wait to play the seconded installment of this wonderful bunny adventure.Sat, 26 Jan 2008 01:05:05 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2136&iddiary=4250Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii) - Fri, 25 Jan 2008 19:54:08https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2136Summary The objective of Rayman the raving rabbids game is for Rayman, the main character, to save his world from crazy rabbids. And in order to save his world Rayman goes through these four mind games. For example Bunny Hunt, Sports, Challenges, and Shake your Booty! One of the mini games, the bunny hunt is a first-person rail shooter using plungers. On the other hand the sport mini game would be a racing game in which the players controls a warthog and uses a flyswatter as a riding crop. As Rayman completes these challenges he gets rewards. Game play I love this game from the start. The controls were a little bit confusing for each different mini game in the beginning. After getting use to the different ways to use the controller the first person rail shooter became more addictive to shoot the rabbids. I especially love when the rabbids dressed like superman. It was always fun to shoot the superman rabbids when they were pretending they could fly. I thought the simple design of the character was a hit; the rabbids were just too cute especially when they go “Baa!” The story of the game was very interesting and addictive. Every time I complete a level I would just want to know what happens next in the story or what is the other mini game going to be like. The game was very interesting due to the cuteness of the rabbids and the mini games. I felt very annoyed that after I completed the first set of levels, I had to rebuild my exp. for the next set of levels. I was not allowed to use any of the upgraded items. I’ve also notice that talking to another player while playing the game made everything much more difficult because the game needs all your attention. As time past the game became more addictive I also found myself waiting to see the new levels I’d unlock, I’m getting closer to opening a new restaurant. This would have a whole new set of decoration, maybe even different kinds of customers. As a player playing a game that does the same thing over and over again in every level it gets irrelevant to go on. But if you don’t have anything to do and you just need to kill some time. This game can be your best bet ^_^. Design As I continued playing the game I found many good aspects not to mention many bad. The good part about this game is the fact that it does not take much though. There are no puzzles or complicated things to read or solve. Like RPG games or sometimes action games. The most challenging part about this game is not to lose a customer. If you happen to lose a customer its hard to beat the level as I have tried. Even though the game play is very consistent it’s sometimes hard to keep up with the customer’s mood. The addictive part about this game is the reward part; once you pass a level you get new items. It makes the player want to know the ending of the game or what else the player could get. Now the bad part about this game; you can only achieve a certain amount of upgrades; then it just starts all over again. It would have been nice to keep the upgraded items and just keep on adding it on; Then the game would have been less challenging and possible more addictive. I believe there are about 50 levels in this game. The music in the game is very simple and happy. After playing this game for a decent amount of time, “I could sure go for a pizza”: P.Mon, 14 Jan 2008 01:30:06 CSThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1650&iddiary=3489Turbo Pizza (PC) - Sun, 13 Jan 2008 19:51:51https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1650SUMMARY Turbo Pizza is a game that challenges your multitasking skills. The object of the game is to reach a certain amount of currency before time runs out, while serving as many customers as possible. The more money you make the more upgrades, items you can buy, which help you serve more customers. The game is not complex; the control scheme is extremely simple because of the fact your only control is a mouse. This is a fairly easy game to play and understand once you finish the tutorial. GAME PLAY When playing turbo pizza I became frustrated due to the fact that after I beat the games first few levels, I had to start all over again at the same slow pace. The characters aren’t designed to impress; relying to heavily on character designs used countless times on the internet, basically it was mediocre. I have played several games like turbo pizza but from what I have experienced this is one of the better story plots then the other games, for example dinner dash, and wedding dash. Turbo pizza is a fun game because it can get very addictive. It became addictive because every time I beat a level I wanted to know what the next level would be like. Even though turbo pizza is a one player game, I believe it’s quite social in many ways. You could compare with friends, what level they had the most difficulty with; or compete with a friend to see who could bet the game first etc… The game was very consistent, mostly it was always the same multitasking skills repeated, after a while it’s easy to guess what the customer is going to order from the menu. The speed of the game gets faster as you upgrade/purchase the necessary items to improve the pizza place or the character itself.
