And hell, uses many of the old Doom games reference, from the zombie soldiers, to the imps, to the hell knights. While playing in hell I constantly died, and had to restart from the check point. Since i didn't kill that much students in the school, my level was pretty low. So when ever i encountered a battle in hell, i lost lots of health points. And I also noticed that all the npcs tends chase the players around. After searching hell i found Jev, some new weapons, such as the shotgun, chaingun, rocket launcher, weapons from Doom 1 and 2, and the Dark Edict, I made my way to a platform filled with characters from every form of media. From Santa Claus, Megaman, Bart Simpson to Darth Vader. They all had some comment about media and religion. In a sense, this part talks about how media affects society. And I'm considering this as the end of the game, since i explored most of hell and haven't been able to trigger the end game. My thoughts of the game was that it was very much like this game Pico, from newgrounds.com. Player do not need to kill anybody, but are encouraged. Making the game more dark and gruesome. After bombing the cafeteria, the game doesn't point you in any direction. So I spent most of the time running around. While playing, I managed to save a student being bullied by jocks. After defeating them, the student thanked Jeb and V, and left. Showing the humane side of the two characters, since they didn't gun down the bullied student. The game only reequires players to kill one person, the janitor, who holds the key to the room on the second floor. I found this interesting, the game was suppose to be a massacre, but players are only required to kill one person. After exploring the school for a few minutes, i finally made my way to the libraries window, which activated the suicide scene. I thought the usage of the pictures to tell the aftermath of the massacre was well used. Players see the pain of the students after the killings, but players also saw Jeb and V in a different light. From the beginning of the game, players only saw the two boys as people that are depressed and angry at life. But with the pictures depicted, players see Jeb and V in a different light. The game is played like all rpg, player are sent to do a quest, and they must accomplish the task before they can move on. However, unlike games like Final Fantasy, Super Columbine Massacre uses this game to retell a history, a game with a strong message to tell. The game play is based on trial and error. If a player messes up, they have to reset from a certain point. Which could get annoying at times. For example, during the game, i was to place the canister of gasoline on the tables. I did that, and headed out toward the park. But i didn't think getting caught would have that much of an effect, however, i was caught, and had to redo the canister placing task all over again. The game also has a set path which players must go on. Players are allowed to stray from it, but they will quickly find out that they wont be able to do much. The game is cleared based for teens and above, since they have no problem with profanity, and bodies of dead students and staff members alike. Just about every other line in the game, one of the characters would use a word of profanity. All in all, the characters show an immense rage for the school, and life itself. They want to kill everybody in their sight, and such, they seem to lose their humanity. They place the blame on everybody, thinking they are going to do is righteous. They want to change the world, and they think by killing, they can accomplish it. Their rage, in the game seems to be also fueled by the media, such as the Marlin Manson cd, players find in the room, or the reference to Doom, with the Arlene comment.
