I have never played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas before, and before playing I imagined it to be very similar to Vice City. I was completely wrong. Immediately I couldn't believe how racial the game was. Basically if you live in San Andreas, and you are anything but white, you fit into the stereotypical ghetto thug demographic. This was seen in almost every aspect of the game, the way of the dialogue, the surrounding restaurants i.e. the drive through fried chicken joint, even insofar as the radio commercials!
The whole time I was playing the game I couldn't help but think how terrible it is that young kids play this game. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm no Mother Theresa but invisioning a 12 year old kid in middle school doing drive-by shootings on hookers just seems wrong, on way too many levels. This doesn't mean I didn't enjoy playing GTA: San Andreas, I think the game is entertaining and borderline hilarious at some times. There is just something funny about dressing up a "compton" thug in cowboy boots and a polo and having him carryout shady black market duties.
