I've hit the water temple. After having beat Ocarina of Time 8 times, the water temple still poses monumental challenge to me. Four stories, lots of water, and a tough boss. The player is required to creatively raise and lower the water's level to accomplish certain tasks, such as beating rooms and defeating enemies.

Half way through the dungeon, you are require to beat a 'dark' clone of yourself. The end boss is a crazy jellifish-tentacle monster which is seemingly impossible to defeat...we shall see how far i get with that.

I have not played this game in ten years; at random I have decided to replay it from start to finish. When this game was first released, I played it for hours on end, for weekends on end. Naturally, playing the game again is incredibly nostalgic for me.

Beginning again from scratch, I watch the opening cutscene with anticipation and began my journey as Link, forest boy and time-hero to-be. The most noticable thing about this game is its atmosphere. In my case, it's one that completely envelopes me every time I play Ocarina of time.

    Jan 31st, 2007 at 18:42:56     -    Star Fox 64 (N64)

Starfox 64 brings its SNES cousin into full, stunning 3D. This game is a hybrid rail shooter/free flyer. Tasked with destroying the evil Andross (who supposedly killed the protagonist's father), you must battle your way through a number of planets in your star system. Play begins "shmup" style, with camera behind the player's ship. Enemies enter the area and attempt to attack your "arwing" (ship). You have lasers and bombs with which to neutralize the enemy ships.

On my first attempt, I progressed to the 2nd to last level before failing 8 times in a row (game over). The game grows exponentially more difficult at you progress, and a boss greets you at the end of every level. I found the music highly addictive, and the controls gave me no problems at all. In certain levels, you transition from rail mode to "all-range mode" which essentially lets you fly freely within the level's bounds. I found this mode especially difficult because enemies come at you from all sides as opposed to just the front and back.

Katamari Damacy has been beaten. Level 10 requires that the player roll objects until you are at least 300m in diameter. There is ample time in this level, however, which allows the player to become bigger than this minimum size requirement. My finishing size was 778m. I think a diameter or 1km would be possible. The end credits of the game were quite impressive, as you get the opportunity to roll up every continent on planet earth as they are systematically listed with their respective flag on the left side of the screen. What a crazy, amazing game...
