    I don’t know whether to talk about my morality concerning the game, or the characters’. Eric and Dylan don’t seem to care what they do, who they hurt, because they don’t feel cared for or assimilated into any part of society. Whenever they show even a little morsel of compassion for others, one always replies with, “Who cares?” right after. They believe that if no one cares whether they live or die, why should they? They’re hurt, so they think that hurting others is justified by their actions. It’s an eye for an eye to them, which is another moral philosophy archaic and law of retaliation. In that case, I fully understand why Eric and Dylan did what they thought was right, even though it was wrong. What I can’t figure out is while most people might feel uncomfortable about playing this game, I don’t seem to mind at all.

    I’m not saying I enjoy killing innocent people in a virtual world based off actual events. I feel that I have become desensitized by other violent games and media. I’ve read other people’s posts about the game and as a whole; it irks many people to do such malicious things that actually happened. I’m just confused as to why I don’t feel that way. As others feel very uncomfortable while playing the game, I stay calm and indifferent and I kill cheerleaders, jocks, and other innocent students. I view this game exactly for its intention, as just a game. It has objectives, I need to complete them for an ultimate prized. It’s all lights and clockwork. Violent videogames like this never evoked any emotion from me nor did they ever influence me to do something I knew was wrong. I’ve always stuck to the pure morals my parents taught me to have since I was young. I don’t think this makes me apathetic towards violence, I think I just perceive t he purpose of this game differently than most people.

    As I continued to play this game that recreates the Columbine massacre, I kept thinking that this game should make me feel a certain way. I should feel bad for reenacting real executions of high school students and actual murders. The game treats this event very lightly because it is, in fact, just a game. It’s not meant to be taken seriously. Like how this whole game is reminiscent of the Pokémon games. They way the game starts, the adventure, and even the battle scenes are all modeled after that classic RPG. So form that perspective, I have become desensitized by the fact I know that this is just a game and might unintentionally offend people because of of the game’s accuracy to the real events.

    I start off going into the school attempting to place the bombs in the cafeteria. It’s very hard for me to figure this game out. I’m not used to using my brain in games. I usually don’t have to think, I can just go because the games that I play don’t have such a complex storyline. After I finally place the bombs in the cafeteria, they don’t even detonate, which really angered me after I spent so much time tying to place them. After that, we go back outside to the parking lot where you could battle people, but I tried to avoid them. Then I went back into the cafeteria to detonate the bomb. As I left, there was a flashback of the character sitting alone at a lunch table. I’ve heard that Dylan and Eric were social outcasts and that is what triggered their anger toward everyone. I tried to explore more, but I kept getting caught and quickly grew frustrated and quit the game. I think the game is supposed to make the player feel compassion for Eric. He was treated unfairly and shunned by his peers for being different. But how can I be sympathetic for a person who kills innocent people out of irrational anger?

    From what I know about the shooting at Columbine High School is only from the movie Bowling for Columbine. Two kids who didn’t conform to the social norms of teenage life didn’t like the way they were treated for their uniqueness. So they decided the only way for people to feel their pain was to inflict it. In their minds, they was nothing immoral about what they were doing because they though their actions were justified.

    The game starts with me playing as Eric, one of the two shooters. He wakes up in is bed ready to start his adventure. It reminded me of the Pokémon games because it looks and plays very similar to it. He then calls his accomplice, Dylan, to plan the attack ahead of them. I couldn’t exactly make out what they were saying because the text was so pixilated. Eric when down into his basement to get the materials for the day. One of the things I found was a Marilyn Manson album. His music was accredited to malicious attacks, such as this one, by perpetuating bad ideals and using his status to influence their listeners. He argues that he simply makes music and the people interpret it in whatever way they decide.

    After he gets all the stuff, they drive down to the school to plant the bombs in the cafeterias. While on the drive there, they listened to the Marilyn Manson album. The game prolonged each scene so I haven’t done any damage yet. I’m still trying to figure out how to even play this game.

    I’m not usually the one to go out and cause riots and shoot random people, but I got a little bored of doing missions during my jetpack excursion. While flying through San Andres, I climbed to the top of the highest building I could find. I pulled out the sniper rifle and just started to fire upon the people far below me. No one knew who was doing this, which was part of the fun.I eventually accumulated a couple of stars, but the police couldn’t reach me up there. To get more law enforcement to pursue me, I then switched to the rocket launcher and blew up cars. But that wasn’t enough destruction for me. So I stole about 10 cars and piled them up in the middle of the street. Police cars were crashing to my mountain of metal, so it sweetened the deal. I flew up to the top of a nearby building and propelled about 3 rockets the pile and gazed at my chaotic masterpiece in amazement.

    After that, I had about 4 stars. And I know once I get 6 I will have the police, SWAT, and army after me. So I kept sniping until helicopters forced me out of my hiding spot. I took the jetpack over to CJ’s mother’s safehouse to get a yellow sports car I have locked in there. I sped out and just let all of these armed forces chase me until I died. I forgot how fun this game could be. It allows you to get a certain adrenaline rush you can’t achieve in real life.
