Well its been a few days but I decided I should try out Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas out again. This time I tried it on a gamesave that my roomate had completed a while ago.
It seemed like the game was complete already. I had walked in the middle of nowhere, looking like I had no linear path just as if I was satisfied with my life and I was going to do okay. I wanted to have some fun so I thought id test out and see if I could push myself to doing stuff I know I sure as hell wouldnt do in real life. THe first thing I did was, like last time, go up to random strangers and beat up someone. Oddly enough I kicked the crap out of her, but other people around her came up to me and started to pick fights with me. I had a knife so I won every fight. It felt really weird how a bit more realistic this was then the last time I played this game. I wouldnt know very many people that would still attempt to challenge someone with a knive but hey they were in great numbers. After that the police came up to me and I stabbed the officer and took his motorcycle. I wanted to see how many cops I could round up in a single session before I died. I got up to about 5 to 6 before they started shooting and hiting me. I was shocked to find out that I didn't lose the game, rather I just went outside to a Police Station with all of my money with me. Is this right to put it in the game? If kids and teens can be convinced that some of the stuff they put in there can lead up to what actually happens, do they have to lie by making it look like you just "go to the police station and you're set"? I thought we were supposed to learn these games boundaries and practices and take in what they cannot do that we can. They cannot go to jail and game over?

When I First played this game, I knew exactly what I was getting into it. A stereotyped non-Caucasian type game where it is all about living in the streets and using violence, prostitution, and theft as your mediums to survive in the society. After playing this game for 30 minutes, boy was I right.
I understand this game is supposed to have fight mechanics, but does that really mean that they can ALL be used on EVERYTHING. I first learned to ride a bike, which I dont know what that was supposed to mean, and after that I just took off finding some guy named CJ or whatever.
I saw all these people and figure they could help me, but of course no reactions to them. I press O and I punch them. Hey that sounds fun. They are fighting back, lets beat this hooker up (She was dressed like one, if not wow the stereotypes sure go far) and get some points. Hey I got her money, I guess thats good enough.
I get arrested immediately. I guess that means I lost. Oh well back to finding CJ. 10 minutes later I found myself being chased by a drive by shooter. I couldnt really understand what they are talking about and why I was being shot at (LOL ANOTHER STEROTYPE), so I just avoided and did some manuevers on my bike (Yes a riding bike, not like a Harlem, ANOTHER STEREOTYPE LOL). But that wasnt enough as I hit the pole and fell off. I rushed to get into a car, but it was occupied, so LOL MORE STEROTYPES, I beat the living sh*t out of the person and threw them off the car and LOL there I go.
I just did some biking and then after that I stopped playing. 35-40 minutes wasnt too bad. This game really does bring out the reality as I really did feel like I did what any normal black or mexican was stereotyped to do at this time day and location. This game better be more original or entertaining in the lesser reality side the next time I play this.
