    Nov 5th, 2012 at 13:02:17     -    NBA 2K13 (PS3)

On my birthday I received the new NBA 2K13. The 2k series just keeps on getting better each year. This year the game is executive produced by Jay Z so there are several cool new features. There is a more basketball cultural feel to the game. The environment of the arenas during the game even has a real feel. The first thing I did was play an exhibition game with the OKC Thunder vs the Miami Heat. The graphics of the game are a little enhanced. The players look more realistic from there body movements to their characteristics. Its just amazing. While playing, you kind of get lost in looking at the game itself and the arena.

A new addition to the gameplay is the dribbling. You can do an array of moves and have more control of the player while dribbling. The movements are so realistic. Another addition is the pick and roll feature. When you have the ball you can call for a ball screen using L1. Depending on how long you hold L1, the man coming to set the screen could either fade, slip, or roll. This makes the gameplay action have a very realistic basketball feel.

The game also has a Celeb team witch includes all of the popular celebs of today's youth culture. In 2k12 you had to unlock the classic oldschool teams but in 2K13 they come already.

    Sep 18th, 2012 at 13:34:15     -    Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3)

Assassin’s Creed 2 is one of my favorite video games of all time. There are so many elements that are put into this game and the gameplay it is ridiculous. It is a mix of so many genres such as adventure, strategy, puzzle, racing, and of course action. All these different elements make this game special. The frame story is set in the 21st century. I started off by playing as Desmond Miles who was escaping from Abstergo Industries. He is with an employee of the company, Lucy Stillman, after being forced to relive the genetic memories of ancestral assassin through a machine known as the Animus.

Desmond has no weapons but the fights are too much fun. The contact on the punches and special moves give you a sense of excitement for what it will be like with swords. After escaping from Abstergo, Desmond enters a device which is more advanced than the original Animus, the Animus 2.0. He relives the genetic memories of ancestral nobleman Ezio, who lived during the Renaissance period of the late 15th century in Italy. The landscape of Italy in this game is very realistic with depictions of historic monuments and churches. The player controls Ezio. I did a couple of missions that included racing my brother on rooftops to beating a rival gang up with my brother.

He becomes an Assassin after his father and brothers are murdered by a traitor to their family. This is when the game begins to pick up. Ezio find an assassin suit of his father’s hidden in the house.

The game gets more exciting with the more weapons you buy and unlock. Some of the swords, daggers, and throwing knives are awesome to use. Finding treasure chests, completing missions and pick-pocketing people will get the money you need to succeed.

    Sep 13th, 2012 at 13:16:58     -    Angry Birds (iPd)

I've been playing Angry Birds for a while now but I've decided to talk about and finally finish it. If you do not know; which you should, Angry Birds is a strategy puzzle video game. In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playing field. As players advance through the game, new types of birds become available, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player.

These birds include the original red bird, the yellow bird that goes faster, the little blue bird that turns into three birds, the bomb bird that blows up, and of course the eagle. You only can use the eagle once every couple of games. The eagle automatically defeats the level and destoys the pigs. The pigs themselves also appear in different sizes. While small pigs are relatively weak and are easily destroyed either by direct hits or by debris from the damaged structures, larger pigs are able to sustain more damage. In addition, some pigs wear helmets as armor, making them even more resistant to damage. Pigs with crowns or moustaches can take the most damage.

If all of the pigs are defeated by the time the last bird is used, the level is completed and the next level is unlocked. Points are scored for each pig killed as well as damage to structures, and bonus points are awarded for any unused birds. When you complete each level, players receive one, two, or three stars, depending on the score you received. As a player you can re-attempt unlocked levels as many times as you would like. I am not the type of person to go back and try to get three stars. If I have beat the level I leave it as it is. Whenever I beat the whole game I may go back and do them over.

    Sep 13th, 2012 at 13:03:30     -    NBA 2K12 (PS3)

I was bored so I decided to create a My Player mode account. This is one of the coolest game modes in NBA 2K12. For those who don't know, you create your own player and guide him through the path to NBA superstardom. You start at the bottom of the totem pole. A rookie fresh out of college trying to make a name for yourself.

My player is 6'6 athletic shooting guard with tattoos and Kobe sneakers on his feet out of George Mason University. All of the rookies scrimmage against each other in front of NBA scouts. A list of objectives are given to you at the beginning of each game. Examples of these objectives would be to get 2 steals, 1 block, score more than 10 points, do not let your man score more that 8 points, etc. These objectives get harder and harder the further you get in the game.

In the first couple of scrimmages I wrecked shop and my player played extremely well for the pro scouts. He got picked up by the LA Clippers. This is when the game gets tough. You play against the league's best in scrimmages in practice to determine your spot on the team. At this point my overall rating is like a 68. You start out at a 60 so I am making improvements. The game gets hard to complete objectives such as not letting my man score more than 8 points when I am guarding Eric Gordon.

Also while you are playing, your player is being graded by the things you do on the court such as make good passes, take good shots, make turnovers. These things can have a negative or positive affect on your grade. You always want to have a grade of C+ or better at the end of each game. Some objectives require you to get an A.
