Oct 15th, 2012 at 15:59:45 - Heat Rush 3D Racing (Arcade) |
After an hour play of Heat Rush 3D racing, I decided to relax my nerves because I got tired from playing the game so much. Heat Rush 3D racing was the game I chose to play for GameLog seven. It was/is a line racing game. The mechanics were easy to read and follow. All I had to do was to race across the country using my car, dodging other vehicles, and reaching the checkpoint before the timer run out. The instructions shown were pretty clear to follow and understand. The up arrow or “W” key was used to accelerate, the left or right arrows or “A” or “D” keys were used to steer, the down arrow or “S” key was used to break, the spacebar was used to do the turbo, and the mouse was used to select levels. Heat Rush was very fun, exciting, and interesting to play. What I liked the most was the fact that I could choose from a bunch of levels. The first level, Cocoa City, however, was to be completed first before advancing to the second level. Also, after completing the first stage, Cocoa City, I was allowed to unlock upgrades by getting achievements. I found this pretty cool because it avoided any sort of cheating during the game play. The scenery in which the game took place looked lifelike. It looked real to the point that I thought I was actually racing. There were trees, grasses, buildings, and other objects. Heat Rush was meant to be played by a single player, multiple players were not allowed. The game, however, ended when I could not reach the checkpoint before the time went out, and when I actually crushed so many times during the game play. Overall, I did not encounter any problems with the game. I enjoyed every bit of it and would recommend it to anyone of any age. In short, it was fun, interesting, and stress reliever.

Oct 7th, 2012 at 21:29:45 - Extreme Rally (Arcade) |
For gamelog six, I chose to play Extreme Rally. It was a rally racing game. I chose a racing game because those types of games excite me. The aim of the game was to finish up first in the race by going three laps. The controls were understandable, easy to follow, and use. The up arrow was used to accelerate, the down arrow was used to brake, left and right arrows were used to steer, “n” key was used to speed up, and the “p” key was used to pause the game. What I liked the most about Extreme Rally was the fact that you could choose your own car and the level you want. This makes it easy and fun for people who choose to play because they have options rather than they stuck with something they don’t like. The cars available were seven in total and the levels that were to be completed were six but one could start from any level, even starting from level six. The surroundings in which the racing took place looked artificial. The overall game was boring to play. It had no obstacles to it. It was just like an ordinary racing game. Also, the game itself paused so many times. This, however, made the game more uninteresting and frustrating. The music was also annoying to listen to. It had the same beat played over and over during the entire game. The game is played by a single player only with the computer. On the whole, I wouldn’t recommend Extreme Rally to anyone, not even to babies. The entire game play had no tactics to it. It was boring, uninteresting, not worth playing, and unexciting. I would prefer to listen to an annoying person rather than playing the game.

Sep 28th, 2012 at 15:20:02 - Horse Jumping 3D (Arcade) |
For gamelog five, I chose to play Horse Jumping 3D. It was a horse racing game. To me, it was more of a “girly” game. Playing this game was really simple to play. Also, its rules and instructions were pretty simple to follow as well. The left and right arrow key was used for moving to the left and to the right, the up and down key was for speeding, and the spacebar was used for jumping. The objective of the game was to enable the horse pass through all the obstacles by jumping through the hurdles without it falling to the ground. Horse Jumping 3D had a time limit to it and in order to win the game, the player playing the game must beat the time to win and also make sure you jump hurdles without making them fall. I, personally, didn’t really enjoy playing this game. It was just too straight forward for me. The horse moved straight ahead without making any turns. Also, the game didn’t have major rules or other things to it. It was just more of run and jump. In addition, I noticed that the game paused a lot in most cases. This made it very difficult for me to jump whenever I tried to. I lost through the entire game because the game kept pausing. I would only recommend this game to younger children between the ages two and five years old just because it’s not that interesting and children between those ages would find it interesting. I would also recommend it to only females between those ages. Other than those groups of people, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. Overall, it was just too unexciting and uninteresting to play.

Sep 22nd, 2012 at 05:01:08 - Jet Ski Rush (Arcade) |
For my fourth gamelog, I chose to write a review on Jet Ski Rush. It was a boat racing game. The objective of the game was to collect the stars available to earn more points and also to jump all obstacles. Whenever a jump was missed, the game automatically restarted. This game can only be played by one person which in my view, is not that exciting. I believe if two people could play, it would be more interesting. Jet Ski Rush had no strategic moves at all. It was more of the basic stuff, just moving forward and jumping. The instructions were pretty simple to follow and easy to understand. The top arrow key was to accelerate, the down arrow key was to decelerate, the left arrow key was to tilt back, and the right arrow key was to tilt forward. The space bar, of course, was to jump. Also, this game had no rules at all. It was more of just jump as stated earlier. This game consisted of ten levels. One level must be completed at a time in order to move onto the next level. However, one could choose to start at any level. You don't necessarily have to start at level one. I only managed to complete three levels. My overall impression, I did not like playing Jet Ski Rush simply because I got really bored at the third level so I stopped playing it. The only thing I really liked about this game was the music played in the background.. The music was catchy. I mostly played the game just to hear the music play. I must conclude that, I enjoyed listening to the music more than playing the game itself. I would highly not recommend this game, Jet Ski Rush, to anyone of any age. It's not exciting. It's just plain boring.
