I am having so much fun playing San Andreas again. First off, I‘d like to share some thing that I found out about Grand Theft Auto. I noticed that there are no children or priests in the game. Everyone one is mostly white and in their 30s. I don’t even see teenagers or younger people like in their 20s. I guess it is seen as unethical for anyone to kill kids and priests. Back to the game now. Before playing again I remembered something that I would do all the time. I looked up all the cheats I used before. The first thing I did was get a helicopter. It was a lot of fun flying around everywhere and getting my lay of the land again. I got bored with this because there was nothing to hit or shoot up. The next thing I did was get a tank. I went on the best rampage of my life. I got all the way up to six stars and stayed there for another 30 minutes. It was cool to be attacked by all sides and just mow down anyone in my way. But just like flying the helicopter it got boring. The tank caught on fire. At this point I thought I was done for. I got out of the tank in less than a second. In real life this would not happen. When I was running away from the cops, I noticed that CJ was running really really fast. Cop cars would try to hit me while running but I would just dodge them. This goes back to the physics that I was talking about yesterday. These game physics were that of a game and not simulated real life. I found that if I wasn’t facing the people who I was shooting at then I would simply shoot upwards. This seemed dumb to me that he wouldn’t side step and shoot at the same time. My favorite part of the game that has sadly gone away in the newer versions is the radio stations and the music. The radio stations had so many awesome songs on it. I just want these songs back on the newer games. I found one last thing for today. The way they made CJ talk and walk in the game was kinda… well I don’t want to say stereo typical because that would suggest that all black people walk and act like this. At the same time I don’t want to say racist because I don’t think it was Rockstar’s intent to offend people. CJ walked like an ape and sounded generally dumb no matter how far along in the game you got. It as if no matter how much money and power you have, you still came from that crappy little gang infested cul-de-sac.

So I pop in the disc for San Andreas into my PlayStation 2. I start to play and something goes wrong. Out of nowhere it says game disc unreadable. OK, no big deal let’s see what I can do here. There was a tiny plastic piece on the inside that broke off, gluing it didn’t work very well at all. I actually just ended up tricking it into thinking that it was there by putting rolled up paper where it would have been. Great start for San Andreas. I put the game back in and try again. Success! One thing I noticed is that it went straight to loading my previous game. I had apparently started a game a while ago and I have gotten pretty far. I spawn by a Gas station way away from the starting point of the game. If you have played this before or started from the beginning you will spawn in an alley with a bike leaning on the right. When I played this game for the first time, I thought it was such an improvement from the last game. The character had stats that were visible when you would look at your character and there were so many customizable options in the game like getting fat or being really strong. The best part was that it would affect your gameplay. If you were really fat you couldn’t run as far or fast as if you were really strong. I spent hours going to the gym so I could beat people to death more easily. Let’s be honest here. The first thing we did when we started the game was a bit of tutorial. I’m going to side track really quickly here. A good part about this game was that the tutorial was made half for new and half for returning players. San Andreas is all fine and dandy but I’d have to say Vice City was my favorite. You will find in the newer GTA games, when you are going into building, you usually have to go into a little circle/portal thing. From there you would be loaded into where you were going. This was probably a way of saving memory on the game disc. But back to my original point. We went on a rampage as soon as we found a way to punch and kill someone. Then we made a game out of seeing how many stars we could get without dying. I had allot of fun in the Ambulance missions. I remember playing all the different missions allot. I don’t remember what the reward was besides money but there had to be some reason why I was doing it. All in all I would have to say if they came out with an HD revamped version of GTA San Andreas, It would be much better than the current games. They changed their physics and it took a while to get used to. It was more fun with all the funny missions and the story was really interesting instead of your high crime Chinese odd jobs. There was more of a plot and I felt more a part of what was happening. There was even an option to respond positively or negatively. San Andreas is a great game with high replayability.
