THIS WAS MY FIRST ENTRY ON APRIL 3rd

Today I started my adventure in Undertale. I did not know much going into the game other than it has had some great success and many people seem to really like the game. I started a little unprepared. The character is a young girl who falls down a hole into a mountain where monsters live. You first meet a flower who seems nice. He tells you that you can grow your health by finding love. He offers you some love but then promptly turns on you telling you that it is silly to share love because everything will either kill you or be killed. You are rescued by a monster at that point.
The monster then leads you through some corridors and puzzles. After a few she leaves you telling you not to leave the room. There is nothing going on by staying in the room so I left to explore more. I got attacked many times by different creatures and was able to avoid fighting them by talking and letting them go. This seemed to be a good strategy until I was attacked by a vegitoid. This creature is not one you are able to talk your way around. I had to fight it until I killed it. So far it is the only creature that will not listen to me.
The game is progressing nicely. I made my way through some simple puzzles getting a few phone calls from the monster in the beginning of the game. She asks some strange questions sometimes. I finished by play time today after getting killed by one of those vegitoid creatures. So far so good.

Today I continued my quest through underworld. I have been exploring the second chapter in a wintery world messing with two skeletons. One of the skeletons seems friendly and the other wants so badly to capture me and take me to the king so that he can be respected and liked. There have been some “puzzles” to solve. They have not been difficult at all. In fact one of the mazes was solved for me before I did it.

The monsters have gotten stronger but you can still avoid fighting most of them by doing other things like talking to them. Some of them are dogs so petting them seems to work too. As long as you are not fighting them you are not gaining any experience points so it makes me wonder if that is going to come back to haunt me later in the game.

I did end up dying this round again when I ran into two guard dogs who are dating or maybe even married. It is very hard to avoid their attack and I was already weak when I got to that part.

    Apr 5th, 2016 at 00:31:21     -    Undertale (PC)

Today I continued my journey in Underworld. During this time with the game I was able to get through all the switches without dying. I didn’t encounter as many creatures today. I was able to make it to Turiels house where she greeted me and gave me a room. She said that she made pie and went to check on it. I took to exploring a little while before I checked the bed and promptly went to sleep. When I woke up there was a slice of pie waiting for me on the floor. I took it because food seems to give you HP.
After waking up and taking the pie, I went to explore some more around the house. I Found Turiel sitting in a chair reading. I talked to her and she seemed to be enjoying my company in her home. I didn’t pry about leaving just yet. I left and found a toy knife and went downstairs. I was stopped by Turiel so I tried again and she continued to stop me from advancing so I decided that the only way to move on in the game was to ask her about leaving. When I asked her she left and I found her downstairs where she continued to warn me about moving forward and dying. In order to advance the game I soon realized that I would have to fight her. I tried talking to her first but it wasn’t doing anything. I then started attacking. I noticed that if I didn’t move my heart around all the things she was throwing at me missed. I just kept attacking until I won. Turiel then died after giving me some more warnings.
I am not sure that I liked being forced to fight and kill this character. At this point I am thinking that it is theming and part of the story but I still did not like doing it. I kind of wish that there were more options to get around that part of the game.
After this part of the game I was greeted by a skeleton who helped me hide from his brother. That is where my journey ended today.

    Prison Architect Game Log 3

In today’s game I played through part of scenario 3 where I had to stop a prison riot. There was a hostage situation and I was able to move in riot guards and armed guards to beat up and shoot the rioting prisoners. There was a brief warning that the armed guards would shoot when close to the prisoners.

As I entered the most dangerous blocks one of my armed guards shot one of the prisoners dead and it surprised me. I was not really expecting that it would happen so easily. I quickly moved him out and let my riot guards move in instead. This proved to be a bad idea because the prisoners killed every one of them. This made me angry so I then let my armed guards in and I no longer cared about the prisoners lives, they deserved to die because they were killing my men. I was able to secure the block and continue the game by killing the rioting prisoners.

As the scene progressed you learn that the warden was burning papers to cheat on the prisoners sentences by extending them. This would bring the prison more money. After learning this the guards break through the doors and the prisoner shoots the warden before getting shot himself. At this point I turned off the game but it seems that for the next little while you are left to cleaning up the mess you made in the prison and bringing order back to it. It seems that the governor who keeps calling in is a pretty shady character at this point. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
