Gameplay: The Gameplay of Portal 2 is perhaps the most important part of the game (though the game would not be the same without other aspects). Essentially a 3D puzzle game that requires a lot of trial and effort, Portal 2's Gameplay offers the same as it's critically acclaimed predecessor. As it's name suggests the player must navigate a various rooms using your portal gun and a variety of other mechanics provided (Lasers, cubes, buttons etc.). When a new mechanic is introduced the puzzle will be easy but as your progress the puzzles will get harder and will combine and test your knowledge through the entire game.
Characters: You play as the silent protagonist "Chell" as she and the Roboto Wheatley (Voiced by Stephen Merchant) attempt to escape Aperture Science after it's supposed destruction in the first game. Wheatley provides much of the comic relief for the game, it is the personality of the robots that is cared about (Much like Halo's Masterchief being and emotionless robot, while his A.I Cortana is the more emotionally relate-able character.) Of course then there is GLaDOS - a cold A.I that controls the entire laboratory who at the start of the first game leading to the death of all but Chell* . GLaDOS only cares about testing and constantly insults Chell for defeating her in the last game. In-fact it's been stated that Chell can talk but chooses not to as she does not wish to give GLaDOS the satisfaction.
*Additionally there is a side story, an Easter Egg, from a character named Ratman that has been scribbled on the walls throughout the game, often leaving clues and arrows to help Chell throughout both the first an second. Whether he is still alive at this point is up to debate.
