Jan 9th, 2007 at 20:18:25 - Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2) |
The formatting for this site is a little wonky. It won't let me say that I started playing it in 2006. Only 05 or 07. :/ Someone better fix that.
Anyway. I started SH2 quite a while back, then got distracted when KH2 came out and kind of "forgot" to start playing Shadow Hearts again. But I decided now would be a perfect time to start it up again. I absolutely loved the first one, and I was completely in love with the second one up until I stopped playing it.
As it stands, I'm about halfway through the game. Not on the second disc quite yet, but Rasputin turned into a city and...uh, that's what I'm supposed to be doing.
One thing I love about the SH games is the battle system. The Judgement Ring is pretty cool to use once you get used to/good at it. It adds a little bit of skill to battles so they're not quite as repetitive and boring. I'm total Queen of the Judgement Ring most of the time, but when I stop playing the game for a few weeks (...or 9 months), I have to spend a handful of battles figuring out the timing of it again. Aaaand I'm apparently in need of some leveling up for this place, because my characters keep getting killed by packs of these stupid snake things. D:
My party is generally Yuri, Joachim, Blanca, and Gepetto. I was planning on just replacing Gepetto with Young Japanese Samurai Boy whenever I get him, but I've had to replace Gepetto with Karin because his HP is so low that he keeps dying and ends up being completely useless in battle.
So. I played for about an hour, but ended up getting completely frustrated by the fact that I have to fight these enemies in groups of 7 and they all attack at once and keep casting a haste-type spell OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
I've just come off putting in 90+ hours into FFXII, so getting reacquainted with SH2 is proving a little difficult. I took a break so I could write this and rethink my "strategy" (that being: "level up like crazy for a bit near the save point before venturing further into the temple"). So, I think it's time to get back to playing and see if I have better luck this time.
