Session number two of Prison Architect was an interesting one. I did make a whole lot of story progress but, I keep noticing new little nuances as I keep playing the game. Since this game has the player waiting for construction to be done in a lot of instances in the game, the player has some down time to explore the prison. One thing that I seemed to miss in my last session is that the inmates themselves have little bios you can read about them. This game has somewhat of a dark sense of humor especially one of the inmate's bio, that says the guy had a video game based insanity and went crazy and tried to eat his neighbors' brains like a zombie hence his nickname "zombie". Even though the art style is very simplistic, every time I play this game I keep thinking about the harsh reality of prison and we have consequences of our actions and depending on the egregious nature of your action prison could be your consequence. Another, aspect of the game I find interesting is the absence of music for the most part. The sound in this game sound like it was posssibly recorded in an actual prison which makes the gameplay experience very diagetic. These are some of the thoughts that I had during my second session with this game.

Today was my first session of play for Prison Architect. I knew literally nothing about this game before going into it so I am doing a completely blind playthrough. The is pretty much in the title you are Prison Architect and it is your job to make sure all the facilities are operational. Just based off of this first play session I can already tell that this game is going to be very engaging and thought-provoking. I only finished the first chapter of the game and it is already making question the ethical dilemma of death row and executing criminals. The overall art for the game is pretty simple however, I don't feel that the art style detracts from the serious themes that are presented in the game. In fact, the photo pictures that the game shows in certain cutscenes are very dark and sometimes disturbing. Overall, this game is going to be a very interesting game to for me to experience and will probably get me to reflect on the harsh realities of prison and crime.

    Log #3 Firewatch (PC)
The story in Firewatch is really starting to heat up no pun intended. Up until this point in the game, I have been taking it slow getting lost in the world exploring the environment and enjoying the conversations between Henry and Delilah. However, during this session, the story started to become a little more tense with the creepy notion that someone out in the wilderness has been spying on Henry and Delilah and recording their conversations. This part of the game really made me think about an invasion of privacy and whether or not in the case of this game if it is an acceptable practice. This might be one of the first instances in the game where I have found an ethical dilemma. Granted the notion only of spying on two people in the middle of the wilderness is a little unsettling.

During today's play session of Firewatch, I went through days 2,3,9,15. At this point in the game, I have to say that this game has me hooked and eager to find out what happens next. The mini-conversations that Henry has with Delilah while he is exploring the wilderness are great to listen to. Something that I didn't really notice with my gameplay in the last session was how much I loved exploring and getting lost in the game's world. What really got to me during this session was the conversation that Henry had with Delilah about his wife and why he took the job. This game does an excellent job of making the player thinking about what they should say to other characters in the game. I have to say that the character interactions in this game are fantastic, I think I'm starting to understand why this game is so special to so many people.
