NieR: Automata brings up ethical narratives with the entire war against machines part of the story. In it, I was able to see different character traits rather fast. For instance, 2B is a colder character, who listens to commands no matter what (so far). From telling 9S that he can’t be happy due to emotions being prohibited, to really quickly taking over as captain once nearly her entire team was wiped out. One can think of the ethical dilemma of protecting a person over following commands. It’s interesting as well with the wiping out of the machines, since I am pretty sure 2B and all the other fighters are also machines of some kind.I really liked the game so far, and it’s been an interesting introduction to this post apocalyptic world.
