I found the first thirty minutes of this game a little frustrating but also intriguing. I knew very little about the Iranian revolution and about the Iranian government. When I starting getting into the game I wanted to make all the wrong decisions and the worst options I was given, however I learned quickly that making these choices actually lead them to kill me, which I didn't like at first but it showed the game would punish me for my actions. The game leaves you with a lot to learn and for most of the choices you make, the consequences are unknown. When being interrogated, I wasn't sure just how much my answers mattered but I still wanted to refuse to do anything asked of me but got killed for it. I then had to restart and even making different decisions I was treated nearly the same which was disappointing. I also got to meet up with an old friend who helped explain a bit of the revolution while also showing the two sides, violent and non-violent. He is afraid that they will never get along and the revolution will crumble.

I've owned NieR Automata for several months but hadn't gotten a chance to play it. So when I started this session with the little knowledge I knew about the game, I didn't know what to expect. I played for nearly an hour and was surprised by first: how beautiful the soundtrack and visuals are but second: how many moral questions were brought up in just the introduction. The game opened up with the statement of "all things is this world are made to have an end, but what if you were cursed to live forever and if someone did this to you, what you would do to them".
Since I was still at the beginning of the game, much of the hour was spent learning combat and controls. However, I did make it to a boss battle where 9S saved 2B's life and but he ends up in critical condition and they both use a black box to wipe out everything around them.
After this session I'm left with many unanswered questions and am definitely interested to play more of this game to find answers. The game is very unique and unlike anything I have played. It feels more like an experience than a game.
