This game is a realy really fun game. The graphics are very nice and the cut scenes are sick. One way this game tells its story is it makes you walk around and that is all you can do while your character is talking on his headset to command or the other squad. This allows them to tell a story and advance the plot while still making it feel like you are making progress in the game. I really liked this way of story telling because it makes you listen to everything they are saying while you still get to see gameplay. The cut scenes, however are also done very nicely. The story is pretty cool all around as well which is also nie.

The challenges in each level present great gameplay. A lot of them are pretty difficult to figure ou and all present some sort of challenge, whether it is a puzzle or boss challenge or just having to do a race. Some of them also connnect with other things you have to do in the game, such as unlock certain color blocks to be able to get some stars. There is the constant star you get for collecting 100 coins in each level or getting all the red coins, which are nice throwback ideas from original mario games. The controls on this game are nice, very easy to get a hang of and allow for you to be able to move th camera angles easily, sometimes in some games it is a little tricky or annoying to move the camera angles, but in this game it is easy and helpfull to be able to do that. The controls also allow for lots of different jumps, which all come in useful to mario because he needs to be able to jump far high and short at times.

One of the greatest things about this game is the vast variety of levels and the design of each level. First of all the starting castle stage you are in is itself a level, with many secrets to be found. This makes the game a lot more enjoyable because you have to keep your eye out for all the secret stars and secret levels in the castle. Each level is designed great in my opinion. They are all pretty big and the 3d environment creates a nice gameplay environment. The levels are designed to be challenging and to allow for lots of free movement, while still forcing you to complete the goal at hand. Most of the levels are pretty challenging, at least more challenging than when I was a kid for some reason, because there are lots of enemies and cliffs to fall off of in lots them. They are also challenging in the sense that you have to figure out what is going on and how to complete the goal by playing around in the level a little bit at first before you can just go in and collect every star of the level.

One great thing about this game and its gameplay is how you get cheats. There are a lot of cheats in this game and many different ways of getting them, such as beating a level in a certain time or killing everyone or many other different objectives that unlock the cheat codes. Those codes are meant for multiplayer, which brings me to perhaps the greatst part of this game- the multiplayer levels and options. I played this game with a few of my friends and we were righ back into it. The multiplayer levels are layed out great and have a good mix of weopons that are powerful and some that are not too powerful, depending on the options, to make the game really fun. The way the four player melle game works out is a classic and is very inspirational to many other new games, such as Halo. I like how th levels are spread out, but not too spread out that you can't know where everything is, and how the body armor/life system works.
