i think the problem with nintendo is that the game holds so little levels that the producers make each level insanely hard so as to hold your interest. i am at 2-2 and there is no way that anyone can make it as far as it is necessary to go without dying. this is insane. okay so its simple but at the same time you have to just completely connect into the game and realize every single pattern in the enemies line of movement. its really hard!! i ran out of time!!

gremlins 2 the new batch is great! As a platform game this is definetely one of the more fun games ive played. just like mario, there are obstacles to jump over, enemies to kill, things to buy, its great. it scrolls so the games continuity flows, a learning curve is established, but not at a high enough rate to make me turn off the game, and extra life is usually able to be bought after an area that is pretty hard to beat. new enemies are established as the game continues, and the game has a storyline that presents a reason for getting through the levels. after watching how gamemaker is programmed, i could see how the enemies paths are programmed and how they move. it gave me a pretty good idea of what i wanted to do for my own game, the level layouts and enemies and goals etcetera... the game is fun and simple, the only buttons are jump and attack, and the graphics are fun.

i dont know why this game is so amazing. or maybe i just dont see the appeal in RPGs. i mean, yea you get to decide where you want to go, but it takes soo long to do it, add kicks in and i get bored. the map is too big and im constantly getting lost, i couldnt find any bosses to kill even after exploring the dungeons, the graphics are colorful but weak, and the enemies all look like little squares that bounce around. what is the appeal? the only fun i had was buying new weapons to see what they did. the way the camera sort of slides from one room to the other i thought was a little annoying and detracted from the flow of the game and the movement of going up and down or side to side was too simple. maybe thats just me just being spoiled from playing playstation, xbox and wii though, as thats all the nes can handle. i did not see at any point the appeal of this game, since all i did was walk up to enemies, stab them to death, and either collect a coin or a heart to continue playing for that much longer. mario was way better. zelda for the wii is great because there are specific directions and assignments and interesting objectives. boo legend of zelda for nes

digging into my roomates stash of over twenty five games for NES, i was of course attracted to the pretty gold one, zelda. we have a few entertainment systems in our house and for the past few weeks ive been watching my buddy play the zelda game for the wii. its pretty sweet, and the graphics are great, but i wanted to know where all of this came from, where it all originated from. so i played. it was definetely like the example rpgs that we were shown in class from rpg maker, which i personally find not as fun as games like mario and others where you pretty much know where you are supposed to go and who to kill. i found myself just exploring the entire map, killing god knows what and buying anything i could afford. it was frusterating though forgetting where i was and going back to the same rooms i had come into and i didnt really know what i was supposed to do when i would walk inside a castle or down some stairs, and after clearing out every enemy room by room, i would be faced with some guy who "didnt like smoke." i guess this might have been a clue or something but i didnt know what to do, so i left, had to battle every enemy again as i left the castle and came outside wondering why i had just spent that much time not really doing anything specific. i personnally am not a fan of this game. there is too much freedom, which is cool, it just takes sooooooooo long...
