I began playing this game last year, and became addicted to it for a while. It is SO good to beat on your friends with a cute little charicter, and if you're really loyal, you can do so with your favorite franchise charicter.
As one can expect, I started out with kirby. And while people say kirby is cheap, he is one of the most fun to play, especially when floating over some above the abyss, and then drill kicking them down for the instant kill.
After a while, I transfered to Captain Falcon, and then to Ness. Ness is the ultimate heavy hitter, once you get past his slow and strange attacks.
Tonight, however, my friends and I were playing with some real pros, so i needed trusty kirby to stand a chance. The name is so appropriate, it seems the more you smash the buttons, (not randomly, mind you) the better you play. The ultimate moment in our match was when Captain falcon and Mario were falling past the edge of the level. Falcon was lower than mario, and they looked like they were both going to die. But the Falcon player does the "bomb in the pocket" move, and shoots up, grabs mario, hits him, then on the release backflip, just barely reaches the edge of the level and grabs on. Crazyness, ive never seen a ledge grab from the end of that move. Score one for falcon. After a series of "stock" games, we decided a more all-out feel was in order, and we played a coupple 2 minuite "time" games, and one of them we had a 4 way sudden death. That was the craziest end, because no one thinks about sudden death, and then to suddenly be thrown in there with the three others is nuts. Anyway, my thumbs hurt now, so i stopped. I feel good.

This is my first log for this game, and for this website in general, but here goes. I have been a final fantasy fan since 1998 when I planed to go out and buy the first game for my parent's new computer. At the game store, a large display of a guy with a huge sword and spikey hair caut my eye. I didn't even know what an RPG was at that time. Since then, ive gone back and played all of the final fantasys, so I was not going to pass up 12.
I ordered it online, and was ready for a rediculously epic game, as it appeared in the solely FMV tv commercials. Once i started playing, I was in love. Personally, I love the gameplay of FF games so much, i wouldent have minded a simple re-churning of the same formula. Which, in some respects, is what 12 is. However, there are a few advances such as the gambits, same-screen battles, and camera movement that really put 12 into the "excelent FF" catagory. But this is not a review, its a log.
Since I got this game in November, ive been playing regularly, although I cant tell how long for sure, because I left the game clock running overnight a few forgetfull times, and my time is at 50 hours although I know its probably half that. Anyway, im at level 30 or so, and doing some side quests before I go into archadia to the labratories where I finally get to meet this game's Cid. (I cant wait. When will he be a playable charicter again? Cid always was the best.) I just beat the Earth Tyrant in the Dalmasca Westerlands, and that was tough. In fact, all the serious boss fights in this game are really hard. I died the first time because my strategy was off, and I didn't cast Haste/Protect/regen etc before the fight. The seccond time was close, i think my charicters were a little under-level. I didn't really get anything for beating him, which was kind of lame. Well, 17 ap, but I could have gotten that in a 10th the time it took to beat him. Thats just one more thing done though, and everyone knows the best part of playing final fantasy games is not beating the game, its killing everything there is to be killed. I did some hunts earlier, and this off-track rampaging is getting a little monotonous, so i think ill continue the storyline... Right now.
