    2nd Gameplay entry
    "GAMEPLAY"
    - As the game progresses, so does the difficulty of the levels and enemies. This allow the gameplay to stay fresh and fun. The game is also interesting because not only do you have to get through levels to pass the game, but there are specific missions and assignments per level. This creates a more personal relationship with the main character because of the sense of danger that the soldier avatar is placed in.

    "DESIGN"

    - Call of Duty, in my opinion, has the best multiplayer action. It has a great variety of maps, each with unique layout. The maps are very well developed and planned out to provide hiding and sniping spots. In the maps, there are heavy machine-guns placed in strategical places, most of the time, where players walk through a lot. The multiplayer for CoD, is also great because of its flexibility. There are a lot of mods for the game which allow for a more realistic and entertaining gameplay.
While the mods for the game make it more realistic, they also keep the game fresh because of the different types of goals which can be set for the game. Beside the types of games that CoD has, such as death match, and team death match; there are jumping mods, where one jumps through a series of obstacles to clear the level. As well as the jumping mods, there are mods that allow you to spawn from a parachute, and mods that allow you to place trip mines.

Feb 8th, 2008 at 18:32:55     -    Call of Duty (PC)

    Gamelog entry #1

    "Summary"

Call of duty is a first person shooter that takes place during World War II. You fight your way, using allied forces, through widely-known relevant towns during the war. You play as a Russian and an American soldier and use weapons pertaining to each nationality.

    "Gameplay"

Call of duty is one of my favorite games. The game is very fun to play and the story is very well told. The story is put together through loading screens, as the form of soldier diaries; cut scenes, and the through the levels played in the game. The story is rich because it involves playing as an American soldier and as a Russian soldier fighting the Germans during WWII. The story makes the game very interesting because the locations where it develops are easy to recognize, and have big historical impact.

The game is very fun and has great flow to it, not to mention the graphics and the realism. The weapons are very realistic and the sounds for each weapon are unique. I like the fact that the settings can be personalized to a great extent, according to the capabilities of the users' computer. The graphics, as well as the audio can vary from very high capacity to the minimum required for the game.

The game's difficulties are another factor that make it fun to play. You can play 4 different difficulty levels, from rookie to veteran. Every level of difficulty variates in the amount of enemies that you face and the A.I. of the game. The A.I. is excellent, the enemies react to your presence in a very intelligent way, and the game's challenge is awesome.

Jan 25th, 2008 at 22:49:43     -    Super Mario World (SNES)

    "Gameplay"
    - After Playing Super Mario World for another couple of hours I really liked that the game carries its entertainment from beginning to end. The factor of the game design that enjoyed the most is the fact that it is the most random game I've ever played. By random I am referring to the fact that you play a plumber fighting his way through levels, confronting turtles and mushrooms, in order to rescue a princess from an evil turtle. The levels and the gameplay are random as well, like the fact that you can swim without running out of air and you die if a fish touches you.

The game creates conflict and difficulty by combining enemies and level obstacles. The way that these two are combined to create difficulty is very unique, and allows the levels to get harder as the game progresses. The obstacles of the game, such as jumping gaps and timing a jump to avoid getting burnt by a fireball, get harder and combined with different enemies allow the player to develop a certain skill. This skill includes timing and deducing the best way to beat a certain level.

I really liked that the game allows the player to beat the level with both rewards. The rewards of the game are great. They include power ups to make the game easier and more interesting, coins which become extra-lives when accumulated, and the fact that you get to rescue a princess is a pretty big incentive. Each level has a time limit which can be classified both as an obstacle but it also gives you extra points which are considered rewards and stimulation to beat the game.

Jan 25th, 2008 at 22:20:21     -    Super Mario World (SNES)

    "SUMMARY"
    - In Super Mario World you play Mario, a plumber who is in a magical world trying to rescue Princess peach who has been kidnapped by evil Bowser. You jump your way through many levels fighting against many creatures such as winged turtles and mushrooms. The object of the game is to pass every level and defeat the bosses of every section of the game, which ultimately leads you to fighting Bowser and rescuing Princess Peach.

    "Gameplay"
    - The gameplay of Super Mario World is great and kept me very entertained throughout the whole game. The villains in the game are very fun and make the game challenging. The game is directed to a very broad audience because of its simplicity and nonviolent way of defeating the enemies. Their is a wide range of enemies such as turtles, mushrooms, characterized bullets, even football players. This diversity of enemies keeps the game fresh and fun throughout the whole game.

The abilities Mario has to defeat the enemies and get through levels are fun and unique. My personal favorite is the feather which lets you speed up and fly through a part of a level. Getting power-ups is a great way to keep the player interested, specially when they are so different. The game is pretty linear but the dynamics of the game allow you to decide whether you want to jump and avoid an enemy, jump and smash him, kill him by throwing a fireball at him, or do a spin-jump on him.

The level design is unique. Every level in the game is different in several ways. The backgrounds and sceneries of the levels are all different, as well as the enemies you encounter in a specific level. As the game progresses you gain certain skill from playing because the levels become more and more difficult. The enemies get harder as well as the obstacles of the level itself. This is achieved by creating bigger gaps, trickier traps, and more spikes and fire.
