SUMMARY
Next Life is a point and click adventure game for the PC. It involves the main character getting in a horrible car accident and waking up on a mysterious island full of people who experienced similar near death experiences.
GAMEPLAY
So far, this game seems to be pretty sub-par. It is made by The Adventure Company, which is not known for it's great games. I mostly got it because I thought it would be a fun little cheap time waster. So first of all, the graphics are better than I expected. Now, I'm not saying they are good, but they are better than previous titles by this developer. The game play itself is what I expected. Point and click, solve puzzles, talk to people, pretty basic. However, the dialogue is what really ruins this game. I'm not sure what happened. It sounds like it was written in a different country and translated incorrectly. I understand what's going on, but the conversations don't seem to make any sense whatsoever. At times it's almost like two characters are having two separate conversations independent of the other. Plus the voice acting being low quality doesn't help either. Also, the dialogue doesn’t match the subtitles hardly at all, so that just complicates matters more. Because of the dialogue issue, it's hard to get emotionally attached to anything. So far the puzzles have seemed pretty easy once I figured out what the game wants me to do. Overall, it seems pretty low quality, but that's basically what I expected.
