    Game Log Entry #1
    SUMMARY
Lego Star Wars II is a single player action/adventure game which takes place in a Lego version of the Star Wars worlds. The game is very innovative because it tries something that really hasn’t been attempted before (at least successfully).
    GAMEPLAY
The game play is very linear and easy. You seem to never have real consequences when you are hit by the gunfire of the Storm Troopers. This proved to be difficult to understand for me. All I lost were these Lego pieces that resembled coins. This title seems to be a child’s game just because of the look and style of the graphics; however, the sound effects are amazing. In an online article I read that the developer got access to the original sound effects files from the Lucas Arts studios. I think the attention to detail is what really helps this title accomplish what it sets out to do – create a full Star Wars first person action/adventure game while using the Lego Star Wars characters, blocks, and complete Lego worlds.

    GAMEPLAY
As I said before the game seemed to be very linear. There is free mode where I was able to explore more however if I wanted to advance anywhere I would have to complete missions. I became pretty bored with this game after a while. Although I know this game is probably one of the best games “Lego” games that has ever existed, the Lego theme just wasn’t doing it for me. Maybe I felt too immature playing Lego games or maybe I just don’t like Star Wars action/adventure games in general, either way this game isn’t one I would buy or even rent.
    DESIGN
The game takes place on a few Star Wars ships. Princess Leya is captured at the beginning and the objective is to get her back. One of the more intriguing aspects of this game was the ability to be able to switch between the characters in your fleet. In order to have access to certain areas of the ship, you need to be able to control different characters because some areas are either robot specific or person specific. The camera angle was killing me. The camera is predetermined for each room or hallway and you can’t change the angle. The further away you get, the smaller the character got and I couldn’t tell if I was pointing the right way when I was trying to shoot. Personally I’m more into first person shooters and not having that camera right behind the gun or the character was irritating.
Overall the game is a nice title to rent if you’re into these types of games however it wasn’t my cup of tea.
