Summary
Wii play was many different mini games to explore the uses of the Wii remote. You create your own character and can battle other people in these short games. Many of the games were spins of ones we already know and some original games.
Game Play
We started out with the cow race game. This was an interesting use of the remote. You would tilt the remote in the direction you would want to move. This game was interesting but not very fun. It got boring in the first couple of minutes and i wanted to change the game. The wasn't enough actions you could do other than steer. The next game we played was Billiards. This was an OK version of billiards but not as much freedom as better versions. You had to hit a certain ball at first so if you had a bad placement you wouldn't have a chance. This game was fun because each ball was worth different amounts of points but in the end it seemed like it didn't make a difference. The fishing game was boring. The only thing it showed was how you would have to respond after the remote vibrates. It can be interesting but the directions weren't clear enough.
Find mii was the first turn around for the game. I liked this game because you all had an equal chance of seeing the matching mii's first. This was competative and kept me wanting to play more. I think it was because each round was a new chance, with no reference to the last round. If you do bad one round you can do good the next. Laser hockey was my favorite game, even though it is a take off of air hockey and pong. It was creative with the lights and kept me entertained. Table tennis was fun but you didn't hold the remote the same way you would a ping pong paddle so it was a bit awkward. I felt like the view of the screen and the way the paddles moved were confusing and hard to get used to. The last game was the shooting game. This reminded me of the old classic duck hunting. It was fun but confusing at the end when you were trying t save your players from the aliens. I hadn't realized that you were trying to save your players and was just trying to save all the players. By this time most of my players had died and i lost. Maybe more clear directions in the beginning could have stopped this dilema.

Game Play
The more I play this game the easier it is to catch on and beat other people who have played for a long time. I have learned how to shoot weapons backwards and switch players on the cart so you can collect more weapons. Drifting around corners and boosting helps you stay with the players in the front. The game gets more competitive now that every one who is playing knows how to play. There seems to be a lot of last minute wins. People who are in 3rd and get a good weapon right before the end have a good chance of winning.
I like playing this game but too many people play it too much. It is good in quantities but there is no puzzle or moving ahead in the game so each little race you start with a clean slate. In the end it gets a little tedious and being a person who cant play a lot of video games I get tired.
Design
The ability to change your characters, weapons, carts, and courses makes this game well designed. You can spend hours playing because there are so many different combinations of play. When you are in last place the weapons that you get when picking up boxes are much better. This makes it fun because it is not impossible to catch up to people if you are behind on the last lap. The people in the from of the pack get weapons that don’t do as much damage like a banana that people could slip on.
Finding out about the short cuts made the game more tricky. You can use boosts to go through them or find some short cuts that have a hidden double box. Each level has its own short cuts but finding them is the hard part. I had people who knew where they were so after watching a couple games I caught on. The design of the game was good for many people to play together and variety of options makes the game fun for long periods of time.

Summary
Nintendo characters race to the finish of multiple different courses, picking up weapons along the way. Using weapons the characters battle each other while trying to be the first to the finish. Different characters obtain their own weapons so strategy to picking your team is crucial.
Game play
I have found that the beginign of the game is the most important part because this is where you pick your characters. If you are playing with a good set of characters it could be the deciding factor of winning. My favorite characters are the small ones because of their ability to drift around turns better. I think that the game has improved since old Mario carts because they have progressed to having two characters on each cart. This is a good competitive game to play with lots of friends. I have found a lot of games have been made as single player but this is a good multi player racing game.
I like this game because I can improve quickly and be competitive with people who have been playing for a while. Not being a natural gamer it is nice to play a game that you can easily catch on. People become very intense when playing this game so it makes you want to get better. Even people who are just watching can get into the game. Overall Mario cart is one of my favorite games.
