GAME LOG ENTRY #2
GAMEPLAY
The game was interesting, there was a father, mother, and a child. I would manipulate the family and make them interact with each other and act as a "loving family". I forced hugs on each other, conversations, jokes and dancing. I was making them do things that I considered would be done by family members.
The characters would do their own thing if I didn't intervene. The young daughter eventually would go to school automatically and I got jobs for the parents which was interesting because they would have the game continue until they arrived. I would think that the "scene" would progress until they returned, but no, the "game time" passed until they would finally arrive.
People would knock on their door and not much else would happen but then they arrived. The story continued until I realized I had played almost a total of three hours. Time flew as I was customizing the house, making them food, waiting for them to come back, etc. The Sims gets to be a bit boring because it's just a manipulated version of one's life, but yes, it's still fun at times.
DESIGN
I REALLY like the fact that the game is so customizable, so personal. I didn't like the fact that for creating the Sim characters, there weren't as many options about body features or clothing as I'd like it to have. Conflict is created by when my Sims wanted to cook for their own, they had to spend time on their own reading books to "learn HOW to Cook". It's a way of showing that you must put in effort in order to complete something well. It comes along with a nice lesson.
I was definitely still interested because of the many options that you can complete. There are many small tasks that you can do. You can create conflict between other Sims and so many things that are so risky in REAL life that you can recreate with this game. The Sims is a simulation of life. It gives players the opportunity to be who you would never think of becoming.

GAME LOG ENTRY 1
SUMMARY
There are many goals to the game THE SIMS 2. The main goal is to create a family, be financially stable, obtain a loving partner, reproduce, and to overall have an excellent life.
GAMEPLAY
The game was interesting to play at first. I was creating the characters for the family. It was cool to create humans of my own with specific features. At first i was tempted to recreate myself, but I just decided to recreate my friends. I was somewhat overwhelmed with all the possible choices in maneuvering their facial features; large forehead, wide set eyes, etc. It was quite entertaining to create the family and dress them.
After choosing how they were to look, there was an option of building and furninshing a house. The options were endless! I also then entered a cheat code where I was able to have an infinite amount of money, which was very useful, in order to REALLY create the "house of my dreams".

GAMELOG ASSIGNMNENT #2
GAMELOG ENTRY #1
SUMMARY
I played Zelda's Ocarina of Time which is a one player game. It is the story of a young elf boy by the name of Link. He is given the task to save the people who live in Kokiri village and Princess Zelda. He must past certain levels which consist of passing tasks to collect certain items to rescue Princess Zelda.
GAMEPLAY
I was initially very excited when playing Zelda since it is one of my personal favorites. After getting out of Zora's Domain, I realized there were so many different things to complete. I had so many options while just getting out of that region. I collected money, grabbed an extra heart container, and on the way to the entrance of the gate, I destroyed octopus-looking creatures. It was a bit overwhelming because I was glad I had the options to do all that but at the same time I had forgotten what tasks I had to complete and what songs I already had on the Ocarina.
I always get nervous when I encounter "villains" and I was scared to encounter Ganondorf, the main villain. The colors and sounds they use are very intimidating and their technique in creating the villain definitely triggered that sense of intimidation. There is a constant update on what should be done by the fairy that accompanies Link, Navi. The game is definitely very entertaining because there are many other things that can be accomplished than just the basic tasks to "finish" the game. The game allows the player to interact with the environment.

GAMELOG ENTRY #2
GAMEPLAY I was realizing that I was killing a lot of people and not getting caught for it. It made me think if this were ever to be real it'd be horrible, yet it was okay for me to do this because it was in this fantasy non-real game world. I was realizing the people I was beating up on the street were mostly bums or prostitutes or men with nicely dressed clothing. I would kill them for "fun" and take their money because I was bored. I avoided beating up cops because I clearly wouldn't want to get arrested and targeted vulnerable-looking people to attack. After doing that for a while, it was weird to realize this was entertaining me. After I was playing, my friend decided to play and would do the same thing but would laugh at what he would be doing, which made me realize it was even weirder to do that for a couple of laughs even though it was a videogame.
The characters are interesting because as I was driving around with my ice cream truck that sells crack, prostitutes and bums would approach the truck and would run to the truck. It was interesting to see that men in suits also approached the truck. It was interesting to understand that the only women in the game were the strippers and the prostitutes. The game was fun to play because I liked driving around in different cars, listening to the music in the background, running over people and smashing into cars. There is a structured story to the game by completing missions but I chose not to complete the story missions and to do other tasks.
DESIGN
The game itself has a very urban, tough feel to it by the choices of music, styles of cars, the assignment/missions that one must complete and the people that are put out in the streets. The game consists of many stereotypes with the characters that are a part of the game in the way they speak and even the radio DJ's exaggerating Spanish accent voice. The fact that the only females in the game are prostitutes and strippers also says a lot about the feel of the game, who plays it and what it is saying for society.
The game creates a lot of different challenges by including police to patrol the areas for no "harm" to happen. If you start killing people at times, gang members will fight back and react to your shootings. It keeps people interested because it takes place in "dangerous" areas doing "dangerous" acts without risking anything because it is a game. It gives people the opportunity from all backgrounds to experience what we only see in movies.
