Game Log Entry #2:
Gameplay:
The second time I played Sonic it was an even better experience because after practicing I was able to pass the second level. I liked that there was a challenge because if it were easy then I would have gotten bored. When I had to face the obstacles this time it was easier for me to defeat them.
I played by myself I did not play with any other players. There are certain games where I like playing with others and there are others where I prefer playing by myself. Sonic is the kind of game I like playing by myself. I enjoy it more, I really get into it when I play it by myself. I think that overall this game is a good game because of all the different challenges and the design of the game.
Design:
The design of the game was good because it was created well. I liked the different loops and the tunnels where the players go through. The way they design the background was also a good element of this game. The background was nature with trees and waterfalls. The sound is another good element because it just keeps you interested it’s not too annoying or too slow it’s just right.
The way they reward you with rings and points when you kill the animals is one way to keep the player interested. The conflicts also keep the player interested because they will try anything to pass and move on to the next level. The game creates conflict because there are animals and thorns that you have to pass in order to get to the next level. I don’t think there’s anything that I would change about this game because it had good design and conflict elements.

Summary:
In Sonic The Hedgehog there are many obstacles that you have to go through. The player has to avoid the animals that sting, pinch and bite him. They go trough the game collecting rings and if they kill the animals they get points.
Game Log Entry #1:
Gameplay:
While playing the second level I felt frustrated because I could not get trough a certain spot. I had to jump from one place to another and when I tried it, I fell and lost a life. I got frustrated not being able to pass that spot to go to the next level. Although it is not easy to pass, I think it is a good thing that they challenge you. If there were no challenges or conflicts in the game it would not be fun. There would be no point to the game. The player has to be engaged and if they have to keep trying to pass the level they will, because they want to be able to beat the computer. I know that is what I felt when I could not pass the level.
I think this game was fun to play I like beating the animals and collecting the rings. I like going through the loops and going to the next level. I like when I can actually get trough the obstacles without getting killed. Being able to overcome each challenge made feel good.

Game Play:
The second time I played this game I liked it better. I think it’s just a matter of getting use to. Once I got the hang of it I liked it more and also because I took my time to try to win and I got close. I liked going through each challenge when playing the mini-game.
Although this game seems like it’s for kids, it is a pretty fun game to play. It’s all a matter of getting the hang of it. Also if you play with others besides yourself then it makes it more fun. This time I played with a friend and it made the game more interesting. I liked playing with a friend because I got to interact with others besides the computer. Overall this is a good game to play it’s just a matter of who you play with and how much patience you have to go through each level.
Design:
The characters of this game are well designed some are creative. Some of the themes of the game look like a little kids game. They have some sort of simplicity in a way. The designs of the mini-games are creative how the characters race on a track that’s high up in the sky. I thought that was pretty creative.
The game creates conflict when you have to face the monster called browser. There is also a baby browser that takes your coins. The other conflicts the players go through are when playing the mini-games if you loose you might move down from first place to second or whatever place you are at. The part that was frustrating of the game was the amount of levels you had to go through, it was just frustrating because it took so long to get to the end of the game.

Jan 26th, 2008 at 00:17:09 - Mario Party (N64) |
Summary:
Mario Party 2 is like a board game because there are four players that have to move a space depending on what number they get. They first choose a player by each spinning a number which ever one is highest they go first, from highest to lowest. Every time the player reaches a spot they either get their coins taken away or they gain coins. Once all the players have had their turn there is a mini-game that all four play either a two on two, three on one, or all against all. The player has to collect coins and try to get stars.
Game Play:
I was excited to play and find out more about this game since I had never played it. The beginning was interesting the little story the characters tell and how they try to come up with a name. It was interesting trying to learn the rules in the game. The characters are interesting they all portray different characteristics. A good example would be Luigi which seems more like the leader and Donkey Kong seems like the tough competitive one. Some of the characters are also annoying as some points.
I liked playing at the beginning of the game it was fun. I like the different themes they have for you to choose from and how the game is like a board game. I also like that it has mini-games in between the game itself. But one of the things I did not like was that it took too long. I think the reason why it took too long was because it had 20 turns. If I would have put a lower number of turns then I think I would have liked it better. Another reason why I disliked this game was because I played it by myself. It was pretty boring playing with just the computer as the opponents. I think that if I played it with others it would definitely be a much better experience.
