Played through a good few hours of this game, near the beginning (I just started it yesterday). This game is different from most RPG's because you do just about as much watching as actual playing. For every half hour of gameplay you get through, there's probably an equal amount of FMV movies to watch. They're relatively well done, if not extremely slowly paced, and really demonstrate that the designers have created an entire universe within the game. The quality truly is in the details. I think, however, that this would have been a smarter choice if the player had some idea beforehand just how little playtime they were actually getting with this game. The box says that there's over 80 hours of gameplay to be had, and since I'm a seasoned RPG vet, I was looking forward to that. Now, however, it seems like that number may be half as much, with FMV's taking up the rest of the time. It's a bit of a shame, as well, because there are some really cool and unique twists to the traditional RPG battle system here, but the player doesn't really spend a whole lot of time exploring that.
