I managed to make her leave in a series of still vague events. No real elaboration on any of the other experiences. There are definitely a set amount of conversations pieces and directions of the conversations. There is the talk about alcohol, the decorating one, and the Italy trip. He confesses to an affair, or she claims that he stole her love of art and one of them leaves, provided that you stay around long enough to see it happen. I think that this game must have a lot to offer, but the bottom line is I am not interested. I am somewhat of a primitive gamer that likes goals and objectives with a clear outline of my tools and commands. This was too much of an infinite sandbox because I could just stand there while their drama ensued. I like my thoughtfulness to come from music, movies, and books. I just don’t think I am ready to put aside my monster killing for a virtual love life or social interaction.

This time Trip walked out. I thought I was getting somewhere, well not me, but they were getting somewhere. He confessed his affair and then said it wasn't working and left. I really get the feeling that they don’t need me there, they kind of do their own thing, and then I try to insert something and it will just confuse them and they will go back to their business. It was suggested to me that I need to take a side, but that is somewhat counter to how I would really mediate a situation. I would think that I am suppose to meet moth people in the middle and try not to offend anyone. Why would reconciliation come form taking a side, I would think that the other person would just become offended and storm out. I really do feel like its understanding of my comments is minimal, aside from hello and yes. Most of the comments I make get shrugged off, this makes me feel like it doesn’t matter if I am there or not, all I have to do insert a yes or no somewhere to resolve the game. It is almost like I mess up the flow when I try to step in, but it is obvious that I am suppose to do something to resolve this situation. I don’t know what to do to get them to reconcile.

Kissing either character is a good way to be asked to leave. Turns out you can get away with kissing the wife a couple times, but once you kiss him it is all over. I still don’t feel like I really know how to communicate with the two. There is the obvious “hello,” “how are you doing?” stuff that has minimal impact, but I don’t seem to get any further. The two begin yelling at each other and all I can do is take sides with my responses. I don’t really feel that I grasp the range of responses that are available to me. I am thinking of this like a game, and I think they want me to think of it as a real situation and try what I would in real life. I am having problems transitioning to that way of thinking, maybe next time I will get the hang of it and start controlling to conversation more. I also don’t get the item interaction. I can move stuff but it just doesn’t seem to matter where I put the art, glasses or bottles.
