BOWLING
Bowling is a game of skill and bit of luck. The game is played on a lane with a bowling ball and 10 pins. The number of players vary and the rules vary depending on agreed rules before the play begins. I played two versions of this game. One version is played in a competitive team setup and the other is for fun.
==Object==
The object of the game is to knock down as many pins as possible by rolling the ball down the lane. The bowling ball is usually made out of an internal cork center and hard plastic that is polished on the outside. It has two holes for your two middle fingers and a hole for your thumb. The pins are arranged at the end of the lane and the point of the triangle points toward the player. Front row has one pin (head pin), second row has two pins, third row has three and the final back row has four pins. The player has two attempts each frame to knock down all of the pins. There are a total of 10 frames per game.
==Scoring==
Scoring is done by counting the number of pins knocked down each roll. If all of the pins are not knocked down, then the actual number of pins knocked down is the number recorded. If all of the pins are knocked down on the first roll of the current frame, then that is called a strike. A strike counts for 10 pins and also adds the total number of pins of the next two rolls. The total of the three rolls counts for the player's score in that frame. If all of the pins are knocked down with two rolls in the same frame, that is called a spare. A spare counts as 10 pins plus the number of pins of the next roll. The total is recorded as the score for that frame. A perfect game (all strikes) has a value of 300.
==Rules==
The rules for the game are simple. The player either rolls two times in an attempt to knock down all of the pins or gets a strike. The current frame for that player is then complete. All other players roll their frame. A player will lose the value of their roll if their foot crosses the line at the beginning of the lane. This is called a foul. If the ball goes in either gutter, the value for that roll is zero (even if the ball happens to roll back out).
