After playing this for a while, I seem to be getting the hang of the rolling. However, it's really annoying when my katamari is huge, I have a hard time rolling in between tight spaces. Other than that, this game is strangely addicting. The simplicity of just rolling up junk is quite fun. The challenge of rolling the katamari to a specific size and beating the clock makes it even more intriguing. Sometimes there are specific constellations that need specific items for it to be a star, like rolling up as much crabs for the constellation Cancer.
The cutscenes are based on a family that looks like block-shape toys, but I think all humans in the game are designed in a block-like fashion. The family just talks about how the stars are gone from the sky. I don't think it really matters if there are any cutscenes in the game because they are just as eccentric as the whole game and creeps you out even more. Well if the game is so creepy, how is this game so attractive? I think the colorful scheme, the toy-like design, and especially the gameplay makes this game so addicting. Oh, and there are little presents for the Prince if you roll up a specific item on Earth. Yay for presents!

I wasn't very eager to play this game when I first borrowed this from the library because this game seems a bit too strange for me to be excited about it. So as I watch the introduction, all I can think of was how colorful and random it was. The King of All Cosmos is the weirdest character of all. He kind of reminds me of the King of Burger King (which isn't a compliment). Anyway, the King of All Cosmos weirds me out. He speaks in a distasteful poem-like way. Well, the game isn't all about him anyway. So let's talk about the other parts of the game.
The story/plot is a bit dumb to me. The fruity King of All Cosmos happens to just break all the stars in the sky. So, I, the Prince, must roll my ball of katamari so I can create new stars again. Basically, I roll up junk from Earth and send it up to space.
The gameplay is kind of awkward, but new, which is kind of a plus. One thing that was really annoying to me was the view as I was rolling the katamari. I don't know how to adjust it so that I can see where I'm going, like when I move right, I'll be facing in that direction instead of just moving right and not looking towards that direction. So as you all can tell, I've been having a bit of trouble controlling my rolling ability, which leads to bumping into things a lot. :[
Well this game is quite challenging having to roll the katamari to a specific size and roll it to that that size before the time runs out. There are also objects that can run into you and break off some of the items you collected; therefore, reducing the size of the katamari.
Anyway, I have to get back to the game. So I'll be posting another entry real soon.
