I'm testing the "Re-open" a closed log functionality...but this comment is real.
JetGirl suggested I re-visit Puzzle Pirates because a lot of things had changed (for the better). As is the case with most MMOs, there is a lot more content. In this case, that means more puzzles and a few interface additions. Yes, there is now a better way to see how well you are doing on a puzzle! Excellent... I am seriously considering a subscription to this, but I have so much else to play...hmm.

Ah... got bored with this. It's kind of fun...but not THAT much fun. At least for me. The main problem I think is with the competitiveness of the puzzles. They don't really get that much harder as you play AND you can't really tell (directly) how well you are doing.
I know that the lack of a score is the result of a design decision. However, I'd be interested to know why that decision was taken because I think it does detract a little from the gameplay. Puzzles seem more like treadmill/rote activities than little mini-games.

We are playing this for ELC Seminar (www.cc.gatech.edu/elc/seminar)
This is an interesting game that seems to have a lot of depth to it and many hours of potential enjoyment. Basically, there are a whole bunch of puzzles that you play to get things done aboard a ship. So far I've played the bilging, fighting and sailing. (ok, I also looked at the repairing). The puzzles are ok, and I'm not sure how much fun I can expect from them. The problem seems to be that the difficulty level is always the same...thus, can it become more challenging?
